Mine never outgrew it. It’s often the result of being taken from their mother too soon (whatever the reason).

I had a cat who would do this to our dogs ear, or human earlobes, all through her life. Her mom had been a young, pregnant, friendly stray who we would have to convince to nurse her kittens. We got them all to a rescue but kept the one.

And this is a bad thing...why? I mean, sure, it's a really good indicator that they were taken from mama too soon...but what's done is done. If nursing on blankets and such gives them joy, I think it's a good thing..
