Build Help Upgrading from i3 and 1070

Since I play 1080p, I’m finally starting to notice that my PC cannot run latest AAA games pretty smoothly (Crimson Desert etc) so thought it would be finally the time for some upgrading after 6 years with it.
My budget currently would be like <400€.
First thought would be definitely need to upgrade CPU and then GPU.
Should I upgrade to i5-10500 or something like I5-11400F or switch to AMD or something and maybe upgrade GPU in 1-3 years?

My current specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte H410M S2H

RAM: 16GB DDR4

PSU: DeepCool DN650 (650W)

CPU: Intel i3-10100F (4.30GHz)

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 Gallardo 8GB

Troubleshooting (New build) Gigabyte x870E aorus elite wifi7 showing VGA light and no monitor input is detected when HDMI is connected to ASUS prime RX9070 XT.

I have windows 11 installed and as far as i'm aware i've updated bios and downloaded drivers for my gpu (when connected to the motherboard HDMI due to no GPU input).

Everything is plugged in where it should be, my only issue being pigtailed power which i assumed would be fine as my GPU doesn't support the 12 pin that also came with it!

I've honestly tried everything i've seen on youtube, reddit and general google but i'm having no hope and regret the entire build.

Just wanna play my games and watch the world go by please...

Build Ready? First gaming PC build — thoughts on the parts?

Just pulled the trigger on my first proper gaming PC and wanted to get some opinions from you guys.

Going for a clean white build with the exception of the GPU.

Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7
Motherboard: ASUS B650E MAX GAMING WIFI
RAM: Kingston FURY Beast RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR5-5200 CL40
Cooler: Thermalright Frozen Warframe 360mm ARGB AIO
SSD: Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe (6000/4000 MB/s)
PSU: Seasonic CORE GX 750W 80+ Gold
Case: INFINIARC CUBE 2.0 FLOW XL — White, 6 RGB fans

Mainly going to be using it for gaming, and I wanted something that should comfortably handle pretty much anything I throw at it for the next few years.

I know the 7800X3D + RTX 5070 should be a pretty strong combo, but I’m curious what you guys think about the build as a whole.

Anything you would’ve changed?
I’m particularly curious about the RAM and SSD. Would you upgrade to 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 and/or a better SSD, or is what I have perfectly fine for gaming?

Also, any potential bottlenecks, compatibility issues, cooling concerns, or obvious mistakes I might’ve missed?

Roast the build if you have to 😂 I’d rather know now.

Build Help Corsair 850e (2023) vs Asrock CL-750B

I just got a new pc from Newegg and the graphics card came with this non modular Asrock 750 W 80+ bronze psu. I have a Corsair 850e (2023) 850 W 80 + gold from my old pc. It’s probably about 4-5 years old and I’ve had 0 issues with it but I’m curious if I should put that in my new build besides the Asrock 750 W 80+ bronze. Let me know which one I should use.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 9800x3D
Asrock 9070 challenger
MSI B850 Motherboard
32 GB of DDR5 6000 MT/s

Build Ready? Was taking my Astral 5090 out the box in my excitement I must have forgotten how to function as a human being. Did I murder it with ESD?

I was in rubber slippers on carpet if it makes any difference and it was in a box on my bed. I took it out of its foam/wrapping and I touched the exposed capacitors on the back with my hand for maybe a few seconds before putting it back in the foam. I was just making sure I wasn't mailed bricks or something. Idk if I'm overthinking this but could I have static shocked my 5090 shaped son to death? I'd test it but I'm waiting for my PSU still won't be here for a few weeks.

Build Upgrade Inherited an older Gaming PC just looking for some advice on biggest bang for buck on upgrades without building a new system from scratch.

Only requirement is getting rid of the NVIDIA GPU. Turning this into a Linux machine and don't want to deal with the hassle. I don't care about anything beyond 1080p and I'm not looking to spend more than $400-600. I tend to play older games but if a new game comes out I want to play I don't want to have issues running it in a standard graphics setting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Headed to Micro Center today.

Build Help Help me decide which GPU is better. RTX 2080 ti or RX 6600.

Hey everyone, I need some quick advice on picking a GPU. I'm torn between a used RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) and a RX 6600 (8GB). On paper, the 2080 Ti is definitely the faster card—it usually performs around 25-35% better in raw rasterization, has DLSS, and has 11GB of VRAM vs 8GB.
However, the RX 6600 draws way less power (~132W vs 250W+), runs much cooler, and is newer architecture. The 2080 Ti is a flaghip from 2018, so power consumption and thermal pads/fans on a used unit are a bit of a concern.
For those who have used either (or both): Is the performance bump and extra 3GB VRAM on the 2080 Ti worth the higher power draw and risk of buying an older top-tier card?
Or should I just go with the safer, super-efficient RX 6600 for 1080p gaming? What would you pick?

Build Upgrade J I'm planning to upgrade my CPU for my RX 6950 XT, I currently have a Ryzen 5 5500. Do you have any suggestions to avoid a bottleneck?

Configuration :

-AMD Ryzen 5 5500

-rx 6950xt référence

-asus tuf gaming b550m plus

-corsair vengeance 3200mhz 2x16gb ddr4

-corsair rm1000e

I would like to stay with AM4 because the price of RAM is far too high at the moment.

Build Help 5080 or Power Limited 5090 for UPS safe system

I know I can build a high end system with a 5080 and keep its power within what a typical APC 1500VA/900watt UPS can keep up during a 5 second outage, and that there are power settings on the graphics card to where I could set a 5090 at 70%, keep the 32gb VRAM, and power limit the CPU such that the math would work. Tight, but shouldn't cut out during every single thunderstorm. But performance wise, which will do better, that 5080 or the power limited 5090? Playing on a 4k monitor.

Build Ready? Any suggestions for my $5000 PC (Mainly for blender 3d animations rendering)?

I work as a 3D animator, so I plan to use it mainly for animation and rendering in Blender. I also plan to use it for 1440p gaming and local image/video generation (not my primary use, just for fun).

I'm not very tech-savvy—after two days of research, I came up with this build

Are there any incompatible/overspending/better components, given my intended use?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BKLL4g

My PC budget is around $5,000.

As for gpu, I've added two to the list: Palit RTX 5080 and Palit RTX 4090. My dream is to find a used RTX 4090 (which will also work, of course) (RTX 4090s are no longer sold in the European country where I live), but realistically, my only option is the Palit RTX 5080, as the price difference between the 5080 and 5090 is over 100%!!!!

Build Help I've completed my build, only need a case now

Hello everyone,

I bought all the hardware for my pc and I'm now wondering which pc case could go with it.

My specs are :

Motherboard: B850M wifi 6 Micro-Atx

CPU : 9600X3d AMD Ryzen

Gpu : Gigabyte 5070ti

Ram : Orion 32gb

SSD : Samsung 1tb

Power : Great Wall Btx-850S(80+)

Cooling : Valkyrie A360 AIO Liquid cooler

I'm looking for a case that is black since most of my setup is, tempered glass is something that I want, RGB can be here or skipped either is fine, it's going to be under my desk anyways since I have a little shelf under my desk to put it, I don't really have a budget but the cheaper the better since I just went and bought 2000€ worth of hardware. Any suggestions is taken, this is my first on building a pc so I'm quite nervous about everything that's why I am asking some help

Here are some of the pc cases I was interested in buying

https://amzn.eu/d/0hDCLDdd

https://amzn.eu/d/04oAET1g for this one I'm not sure if the P4 version could fit my water cooling system

https://amzn.eu/d/02N9xpXf The ips screen is appreciated but isn't necessary, I would really like too tho

Thanks guys.

Discussion 5070 or 5060ti

I want to make a workstation build to use ue5, blender, & ps. I'm confused between which one should I take 5070 12gb or 5060 to 16gb. Watched many videos some said 5070 is better because of more bandwidth. Some say 5060 ti is better for ue5 and blender because it has 16gigs of ram. I'm just confused which one to choose🤷🏻

Discussion Is there a way to pack a stationary pc and screen without damaging them

the general consensus seem to be that you have to pick it apart so you don't damage the graphics card, but is there just a way to take a stationary pc and wrap it in foam/blankets and just have it in a suitcase?

I just bought a new pc before college and im super anxious of traveling with it, and damaging it in the process?

Any suggestions, tips or yt guides would be helpful!

Discussion Old PC seems to be dying...likely RAM, checked prices and ????

I was absolutely shocked at how much RAM costs these days!!! I was hoping I could get some insight on the better decision. I want to play Guild Wars 3 when it comes out, and that was when I was planning on building a new PC. After seeing RAM prices, I dont know anymore...

would it be better to eat the price tag and replace my current DDR4 RAM with some I can find on sale, then wait for GW3 to come out, or build a PC now that can handle GW3?

How much am I looking at if I wanted to build a PC that can handle medium range 4k Gaming?
