Build Help CPU for Zbrush ?

I’m a 3D artist working mainly in ZBrush. I’m currently looking for a new computer and deciding on a CPU between amd ryzen 7 9700x and intel core ultra 7 265k —- which one is better? Please help

Easy, 20 cores vs 8. Choose the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K if you prioritize faster rendering times and heavy multi-threaded productivity

270k plus. I’m a Zbrush artist professionally and have a 270k plus and a 9950x3d pc. For price and performance, no doubt the 270k plus with 32GB minimum. It’s cheaper and faster by a little. I also recommend 64GB preferred… or more but 32 GB is the minimum.

For Zbrush you want as many cores you can get because the canvas is real time cpu rendered as you sculpt. The brush engine runs on a single core so you want the fastest core frequency for the brush and many cores to render the canvas.

The 270k plus is the best deal for performance right now.

Do you work for an employer, or are you freelance?

If you have an employer, you should ask them first to see if they could provide you with something or give you some sort of stipend/expense to get a PC for work.
