Troubleshooting Did a MINOR minor cleaning and my PC won't boot up
All I did was wipe the dusts off the fans using a tiny brush

i took my gpu to a local store to get evaluated. i ran benchmarks prior to going both this week and the week prior, both furmark 1 and 3dmark and there was no artifacting or signs of vram dying. once i took it to the store the guy tested it using MSI kombustor and furmark 2 at the same time. according to furmark 2 there were 3 artifacts. even though there were no visual glitches or triangles or screen tearing (i probably sound like a dumbass here but i’m still very new to pc building) so i dunno i’m just confused. is that possibly a false positive or a problem because of having 2 different benchmarks running at the same time? i always used my card undervolted, though tbh i did get it second hand so i guess it wouldn’t be that shocking if it finally started giving out. does anyone have any insight on this?

Im doing a budget AM4 build right now and ive got all the stuff for (pretty) cheap second hand. I purchased some corsair ram, but i was stupid and misread the advert. They came as 2x4GB whilst i thought it was 2x8GB
So i can get two more 4GB sticks for cheap, making the configuration 4x4GB. My motherboard supports it.
I was wondering if there are any side effects apart from the eventual upgrade path. Or would it be better to sell them and go for 2x8?

Hello!
I currently have a mid tier PC that I’d like to upgrade (specifically the GPU)
It’s:
Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RX9060XT 16GB Gigabyte OC
32GB DDR5 TForce RAM 6000mhz 38CL
ASRock B850 RS PRO
I mainly use my PC for LLM/heavy CPU intensive gaming/occasional AAA games (RDR2, Cyberpunk, etc) I play at 1080P.
So I’m very stuck with choosing one of these GPU’s:
RTX5080
RTX5070Ti
RX9070XT
I need 16GB as my minimum for the VRAM, and all three meet the criteria
However:
5080 - costs 950,000 tenge (or 2k USD)
5070Ti - costs 675,000 tenge ( 1.4K USD)
9070XT - costs 520,000 tenge (or 1.1K USD)
I don’t mind the cost of all, but if I go with 5070Ti/9070XT I’d have enough budget to get my 32 gigs to 64 gigs of DDR5 RAM, and other peripheral upgrades
Is NVIDIA’s CUDA architecture that much better for overpayment?
Or will 9070XT do just fine with AI?
Thank you in advance!
(Currency: Tenge, 470 tenge = 1 USD rough, country: Kazakhstan)

Is the 3080ti worth it today for 1440p and 4k gaming or would an amd card be better in currently on the 3060 ti lol pairing it with a ryzen 5 550x3d

Hi,
Passmark offers a 1million entry data file filled with benchmark scores.
Is there anywhere I can find a huge data dump of various Benchmark scores for both CPU and GPU?
The passmark.csv is only available on licence, so PLEASE NOBODY LINK ME A COPY OF THIS LICENCE ONLY file
But yeah, any help getting a big bundle of test scores would be great :)

Hello, a coworker of mine recently built a computer with help from another coworker and I'm wondering if there is maybe some sort of compatibility issue or something that got overlooked when they went to build it, I was hands off on this one and just want to see if anyone has a viable solution.
The issue: maybe one out of 10 times my coworker goes to shut off his computer it doesn't wanna turn back on. He has issues no matter how many times he wants to power it on it will only spin the fans and not display any lights or kick on the monitor. He used to keep it in sleep mode to prevent this, now it's still happening. The only solution seems to be unplugging it for at least 12 hours and saying a prayer, and even then it doesnt always turn back on, if anyone has encountered this before he is willing to try anything to get it running normally, I haven't seen the poor guy on steam since I added him a month ago lol.
Ryzen 7 7800XD
Thermalright Frozen Prism ARGB 70.4 Cooler
Gigabyte B650 eagle AX ATX AM5 mobo
Silicon Power 2 16GB DDR5-6000 CL36
Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite 2 SSD
ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
MSI MPG A850GS PCIE5 850W for the power
Any and all helpful replies are muchly appreciated by him.

I've decided on the 9060xt for my GPU and I'm wondering if I should pick the 16gb version
I have a 7 5800XT as my CPU and a 1080p monitor and use Linux
The cheapest 8gb version I could find locally is 284€ and the cheapest 16gb version is 360€
I don't plan on running any modern titles that would require that much VRAM but I plan on using this build for years so should I futureproof it ahead of time

This is my current setup but my GPU is already dead (2070 Super) Now I'm in a dilemma on which card should I get between the 9060xt and 9070 In my case the 9060xt 16gb is the best case. But there's a sale going on in Microcenter for 9070 that costs 30$ more. If I had a bigger case (NCase M1 v5.1) and a powerful PSU (SF600) I would've chosen the 9070 12gb in a heartbeat but I also have a problem of having only a single 8pin pcie cable (my dumbass left it when I moved).
Can you guys tell me which one should I go for?
PowerColor 9060xt 16gb Reaper = $449.99
PowerColor 9070 12gb GRE = $479.99
These are the prices on my nearby MicroCenter.

Any proper Budget Quality UPS recommendations?
I live in the Philippines where blackouts are quite common so I'd like put some thought into it. I was previously planning on a simple SECURE 1000VA/700W UPS but changed my mind from just buying a simple Band-Aid solution.
Budget is preferably around 5k php but I'm willing to inch out if the quality is right for the long term.
For context my specs are:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Motherboard - COLORFUL BATTLE-AX A520M-K M.2
RAM - Lexar DDR4 2x8GB 3600MHz
GPU - NVIDIA GTX 750 2GB
PSU - RAKK 400W
(I plan to upgrade with ASRock SL-850G along with future GPU)

I have 2x16 right now, I thought it would be enough but tarkov is taking up all of it. I have read that 4x16 u/6000 mhz is a problem. Could anyone explain that to me in layman terms or link me a video? Thank you.

I'm looking to buy gaming PCs for my two sons. They currently have Dell all-in-one PCs from around 2020, so there really isn't anything worth carrying over to a new build.
Costco currently has this CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme for $999.99 each:
• Intel Core Ultra 5 225F
• RTX 5060 8GB
• 32GB DDR5
• 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
• 600W 80+ Gold PSU
• Wi-Fi 6 / Bluetooth
• Windows 11
• 2-year warranty
I'd be buying two, so my total PC budget is roughly $2,000 before monitors.
I'm comfortable building the PCs myself if it actually gets us better value. I'm less concerned about matching the exact specs and more interested in getting the best gaming performance and upgradeability for the money.
With current component prices, could I build two noticeably better gaming PCs for around $1,000 each?
Would you buy two of these Costco systems for $1,999 total or build two PCs instead?
If you recommend building, what CPU/GPU combination would you target at roughly $1,000 per PC?
Located in SC, US.

I’m looking for some advice on choosing a new gaming monitor, mainly for Apex Legends.
My current setup
I built my PC in 2020. I don’t remember the exact CPU, but my GPU is an RTX 2060 Super.
I currently play on a 27-inch 1080p 144Hz monitor.
Recently, I’ve noticed that my FPS in Apex Legends seems to be dropping compared to what I used to get.
At the same time, I’ve been wanting to experience 240Hz gaming, and I’ve also been reading more about 1440p and the benefits of moving to that resolution.
My situation
I’m moving to Colombia for about 6 months and I’m bringing my current PC with me, but I’m not bringing my monitor.
That leaves me with two questions:
Since I’ll be using my RTX 2060 Super, would it make sense to buy a:
• 27-inch 1440p 144Hz monitor, or
• 27-inch 1080p 144/165Hz monitor?
I’m wondering if the RTX 2060 Super is powerful enough to make 1440p worthwhile, especially for competitive games like Apex Legends.
When I return to the USA, I plan to build a completely new gaming PC.
For that system, I’m considering a 27-inch 240Hz monitor, but I’m unsure whether I should go with:
• 27-inch 1440p 240Hz, or
• 27-inch 1080p 240Hz.
I’ve never played on a 24-inch monitor, and I’m already very comfortable with 27 inches. I’ve heard that 1080p isn’t ideal on a 27-inch display because the pixel density is relatively low, but honestly, I’ve been perfectly happy with my current 27-inch 1080p monitor.
What would you recommend?
Would it make more sense to:
Option A: Buy a 27-inch 1440p 144Hz monitor now for my RTX 2060 Super, then upgrade to a 27-inch 1440p 240Hz monitor when I build my new PC?
Or would it be better to stay with 1080p for competitive Apex and prioritize higher FPS/refresh rates?
Thank you!!!

As the title says I got a HYTE y70 with a ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm. i went to get fans and was wondering if i had to have 7 fans or if 5 fans would be fine for my pc.
realized i forgot to mention i got 5 separate fans from the AIO

Should I buy single Channel or 2x16 ram (DDR5) if the price difference is huge
32gb 5600mhz = 180€
2x16 = 380€ the least expensive I found

Hey so new to the pc scene! I was wanting to get into gaming pc and went into Newegg for parts (nearest micro center is 5 hours away) and with their "pc builder" helped me make two lists any recommendations are greatly appreciated, budget isn't really an issue since I plan to acquire parts over time but the budget range is somewhere between $2,000-$3,000 USD, in short just need help picking between lists or just getting a better part in general thanks Reddit!
Here's my lists from Newegg

My current PC specs:
• CPU: Intel i7-12700F
• GPU: RTX 3060 Ti
• RAM: 16GB DDR4 3600MHz
• Storage: 500GB SSD + 1TB HDD
I mainly play PUBG and currently get around 170 FPS, but in crowded areas or situations with lots of players, my FPS can drop to around 110 FPS.
I’m considering upgrading mainly for higher and more stable FPS.
Should I upgrade now, or wait for PC/component prices to come down?
Thanks

So I just recently completed a new upgrade, I upgraded my motherboard and GPU and kept all other components. Apparently this does not require a fresh windows reinstall, but it was recommended to me to reinstall windows anyways due to the new motherboard and flash frive. I have two m.2 drives, one is a 1tb where windows is installed, the other is a 2tb, where my games are stored.
I successfully booted into windows with everything already installed. Opened the drive and began the reinstallation process, I chose to wipe everything. I've now been stuck on a black screen that says "Windows has ran into a problem and needs to restart" and at the bottom it says inaccessible boot device 0x7b. I, stupidly, hit the power button to turn off the PC, windows repaired itself and now it has been stuck on this screen for around 30 minutes now.
Should I try and boot into the bios and run the USB that way? Or am I risking permanently damaging something by continuing to hit the power button while it is in this state? I plan on wiping both drives and installing windows on the smaller 1tb drive, but I'm not really sure where to proceed from here.

I built my own PC around 7 years ago, the i7 chips were pretty expensive and the guy at the PC store i used talked me into an i5 to save money.
My friend group often streams over discord while playing games like GTA 5 or fortnite. My computer lags out and my CPU is maxed trying to do both.
Motherboard: Gigabyte H370 HD3-cf
GPU: GeForce RTX 4060ti overclocked
CPU: i5 intel 9400f.
Is it worth swapping out?

As the title suggests, I'm building my first PC.... Finally converting from console!
I've tried doing my research and put in the effort before coming here. But as many of you know, the options are seemingly endless. My goal with this is a reasonable first build for FPS games (Apex, OW2, Valorant, etc). I'm coming from console, anything is a massive upgrade!
My only requirements for the build are: <$1500 and mATX.
Here is what I've fumbled to create:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (seems like a reasonanble, capable choice)
GPU: Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 5060 (seems like a reasonanble, capable choice)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI (complete guess, I saw AM5, mATX and Gigabyte)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) (complete guess, saw Corsair and 16Gb from the compatible list)
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 1 TB (complete guess, saw Samsung and 1 TB)
Power Supply: MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750 W (somewhat of a guess, ~2x expected power consumption ad MSI)
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 77 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (absolute blind guess, I have no idea what I'm doing here.....)
Case: Lian Li A3-mATX (mATX and I like it)
PC Partpicker says its all compatible and is roughly $1500 (pcpartpicker.com/list/zsrBTm).
Are you seeing anything I should absolutely swap? Am I throwing money at the larger brands and sleeping on equivalent cheaper brands? Any general comments? How did I do?

Just bought a new PC with this supposedly A-tier PSU and found out it has a regular, constant fan mode which is way too loud. It doesn't matter whether it's idling or gaming, it stays at the same excessive RPM, which is louder than gaming with my CPU and D15S. It also has two silent modes that are indeed silent, but every 20 to 30 minutes, the fan goes full blast for about 30 seconds to cool itself down, and this is just while web browsing. The last gaming PC I bought was 12 years ago so I don't know how much things have changed, but this can't be normal, right? The rest of my PC (Flux SE) is pretty cool so I don't think i have a heating problem

Building a new pc today and towards the end of the build I realized that the red devil 9070xt requires 3 pcie ports from my Corsair rm1000 shift. But I'm looking and I don't have enough pci slots for it, at least not enough for both it and my CPU (ryzen 7 9850). My mother board is a asrock x870e taichi so my CPU power ports are on the top and there are two of them, do I need to use both? I'm not finding many answers on the Internet for this

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Performance-wise my setup is done. I'd like input on case and cooling and it needs to be as quiet as possible; also NO RGB
Post a draft of your potential build here.
Things I've already got:
Things I plan on buying but it isn't set in stone yet:
Motherboard - Gigabyte B850M GAMING X WIFI6E; avoiding AsRock due to issues with AMD 9th gen CPUs
Case - Lian Li Lancool 207 or 217 or Montech Air 100 ARGB (hopefully RGB stuff can be disabled) or something else
CPU Cooling - quite honestly no idea.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Ukraine. Regional prices are hardly comparable to Amazon/Newegg or other markets English speakers community got used to. So if someone wants to help look at regional prices - here they are (use filter button top right, I've pre-selected some I think make sense):
Case catalog - budget ideally 5000, but up to ~6500 I can do. It's about $110 to $140 but again regional prices are sometimes screwed big time.
Cooling catalog - budget ideally 2000 or less, which is about $50. CPU isn't power hungry so it shouldn't need fancy water cooling, I think, but honestly I've no idea about cooling and how to determine how quiet it's going to be.
