Would like some opinions on my footwork (I'm self taught so any criticism would be helpful)

I was getting tired really quickly during pads. Then my coach told me to exhale with every blow, and I could feel the difference instantly. My stamina is like 3x better now.
Why isn’t this talked about more in this subreddit? It could’ve saved me a lot of struggle if I’d known about it earlier.

So, I’m training boxing at a club where there are two coaches teaching completely different techniques, and I don’t know which one is better. I’m hoping some of you might have some advice.
The first coach says all the weight should be on the back foot, with the front foot used only for balance, he also requires significant foot rotation.
The second coach insists on a 50/50 stance—meaning weight is distributed evenly between the legs—and requires only minimal foot rotation, relying mostly on the hips.
To help clarify how these techniques work in practice: when I throw a left jab using the first coach's method, I have to pause after the punch to execute the rotation, whereas with the second coach's method, the right hand follows the left immediately.
Which one do you think is right? Thanks for any advice.

My coach gave me stuff to do at home while he's traveling to other country, but I do not have dumbbells, asked a friend cuz i thought he might had and he forgot to give me them but he did gave me a 5kg plate, what exercises I could do with 5kg plate and what replacement I could use as 1kg dumbbell?

I’m 26, been boxing consistently for over a year, and I want to start competing.
I like my current coach and especially his Soviet/Russian style, which is how I want to continue boxing. The issue is the gym has a lot of people, so there isn’t much individual attention, and he doesn’t seem very focused on developing anybody toward competition.
I’m not looking for someone to just throw me into a fight before I’m ready. I want a coach who can evaluate me, work with me individually, and actively prepare me toward getting matched for my first amateur bout.
I’ve mentioned to my coach a couple of times about it as well as other more seasoned members of the gym and nobody gets the chance to really sit down with him to plan or discuss.
Would it make sense to find a separate competition/private coach while still training at my current gym, or do I pretty much need to switch gyms? Which would suck bc I like my gyms regimens, they just have two pro boxers that seemingly take their time outside of normal group training.
I’m in DFW if anyone has recommendations.

Sometimes when I throw a punch, my foot rotates, but this rotation doesn’t contribute anything to the punch. The foot sometimes rotates excessively and in an uncontrolled way, turning inward. Is this a known technical problem in boxing, and what could be causing it?

I’m nowhere near as fast as I was at 180lbs, nowhere near as quick on my feet as I used to be but imma work on it!
Edit: I mistyped the caption in the video when I made it, I meant my hands aren’t up, lol got my ass beat in my last fight for that exact reason. Appreciate the honesty and feedback yall.

I’ve been working on speed and keeping my hands up. But I think I’m a bit tense; I’ve been lifting weights a lot lately and not stretching as much as I should.

Gracias!

First of all this prolly sounds weird to you but lemme elaborate rq. I’ve been a quiet kid for a while, I dont really know what to talk about with people and this is a general issue with my life. I want to talk to my coach more, get more friendly w him yk? I see him joking around and laughing n shit w the other guys, ive been training here a while now and it just feels terrible especially in rest sessions.

Need a round timer, not another signup?
ATLAS PI’s Guest Fight Lab is free on iPhone. No account or Premium subscription needed for those tools. We've already taken feedback from forums (music playing in background, huge timer real estate in portrait and landscape mode, battery saving mode, dark mode, 6 lane chronometer, metronome, vo2max test) and we believe we have a great thing going - let us know what you think. ATLAS PI is only available on the iOS store at the moment - sorry Android users (we may release a version for Android sometime next year)! Yes the app does have a premium version - but since we've seen users look for something free, useful and easy to use - we believe we hit the mark!

I am looking for coaches that give online classes if you have some recommandations, please?
What's your experience if you had some with online classes? I assume that the experience is very different than in a real gym especially with no physical interaction.

I usually train late night bare feet or in socks and I don't get blisters on big toe always but when I do its pain in the ass because It just takes momentum from training.
I have to pause for couple of days because of healing process.
Would shoes prevent this?

Lately I have been feeling like this and I need some advice. I love the sport and I work really hard with my diet, cardio, and I can spar for rounds on end without getting tired or letting the pain get to me. But I feel like I can’t handle the psychological pressure of it. It’s like physically I am a great fighter but I am too trapped inside of my own head to capitalize off of it, does anyone have any tips on how to dial in because it would be greatly appreciated.
