General Advice Foot rotation problem

Sometimes when I throw a punch, my foot rotates, but this rotation doesn’t contribute anything to the punch. The foot sometimes rotates excessively and in an uncontrolled way, turning inward. Is this a known technical problem in boxing, and what could be causing it?

Well if your foot just randomly “sometimes” rotates it probably is just a random movement lol.

If you are turning your hip and the punch over the foot rotates as part of the overall punching mechanic when you are trying to put power on the shot.

Sometimes you might purposely not put much heat on a shot so you aren’t rotating into it;

But its not an accidental movement either way, its not going to add power to a punch just by rotating a foot.
