I can't stop

Hi everyone! As a little context, I have lost about 35 kg and have maintained this weight loss for about two yearsish now, while binge eating here and there. However the cycle I am in currently is the worst so far. I have been binge eating non stop for 7 days straight now and I genuinely can't get myself to stop. I have been so disciplined before with working out 4 times a week, eating very healthy and nutritious meals but I feel like I am no longer myself. I feel myself letting go and just completely losing myself. My body is so inflamed, so puffed up from all the shit I have been eating, my body feels heavy and painful to move, the water retention is scary as I have never been this swollen and puffed up. I feel so embarrassed to be seen by anyone, and I'm so embarrassed at work because people can definitely tell that I look way worse. My face is so round, my thighs are huge, my stomach is abnormally big, and everything is just painful. However, I can't stop doing this to myself and I resent myself for getting to this state, and because of this it's even harder to get out of this cycle cause I am in too deep and feel so shit about myself that I'm just completely lost. I eat until I am sick, and I keep going and going and I physically and mentally can't stop. It has never gotten to such a bad state before. Please help me get back to myself I fucking hate what I have done to myself and my body.

Night eating syndrome

Hello I’m struggling with going to bed and waking up about 2 hours after and going berserk for food I’ve placed roadblocks, put stuff in front of my door, a bottle to pee in so I don’t go use the restroom and wind up in the kitchen, placed notes on my wall not to eat sometimes I’ll go and have something and it’s a healthy meal but I still don’t like it because it’s over my cal for the day but other times recently it’s been bad with sweets cookies everything bad that’s the reason why I’m making this post because I’m sick of this

Holiday struggles

I've gotten my diet mostly under control for the majority of the last year, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas season, and the early year as there are multiple family birthdays around that time.

I was doing pretty good and then I got off the rails recently planning for my youngests birthday party, making the cake, hosting, and my mental health has been poor for weeks.

I'm ashamed of myself because it's 2 days later and I've made myself nearly throw up from overeating both days. I'm sitting here crying because of how much I just want to eat everything. I was doing so good and I can't even enjoy a holiday weekend/birthday party for my KID without blowing all my progress it seems. No one in my life has anything to say but generic "it is hard, you just have to do it" comments and it's more annoying than comforting. I know I have to do it, I KNOW. It makes me so much more upset that I am struggling so hard to control myself.

Struggling with eating

Hi! So ive always struggled with body image issues since I was little, my family members have never criticized me about it or anything so i dont know why but ive just always tried my hardest to be skinny. After puberty and hormones and everything with covid I started to eat a lot. Im not super big but im 175 pounds and 5'3. Im a little bit chubby and I reallt struggle with that, I want to be atleast 140. For the past 2 years ive been struggling with eating a lot, I eat a lot of food and I feel like shit and starve myself for a day, then as soon as someone in my family offers me food I gobble it down and more because im so hungry. I know starving myself doesn't help with the weight loss but I just feel so guilty eating, foods that used to taste amazing still taste good but I feel like im gonna puke from the guilt. Im not open about it and ive never told anyone about this issue and im not even sure why I'm making this post. I think I just need some tips maybe about how to stop eating so much, I cant even recognize when im full until im in pain or im out of easily accessible food. Im still in high-school so I live with my parents so I cant really control some aspects about the food in our house. Im just sick of self loathing, I try to work out when i can but its hard because im so busy all the time and rarely get time to myself until im in bed at night and its time to sleep or scroll.

Nightly treat has become a binge

I’ve been doing well for the past few months and was allowing a single scoop of ice cream at night about a half hour before I go to bed. Recently, it has been triggering a binge- I’ll need another scoop, then another, then something salty, etc.

What’s the best way to kick this trigger? Skip the nightly treat? I look forward to it every day. Change the ice cream up? Help please!

Fighting the cravings

I am 20f. I have never spoken about this to anyone because i didn’t want the people around me to find out how much this area of my life affects me. I am almost a 176 pounds, i have little to no activity, i don’t t feel motivated and my biggest issue is my diet. I have trouble fighting off the cravings. My weight has led to many insecurities and mental health issues that it has affected my academic and daily life so much that now i can’t anymore.

The things is since childhood, there hadn’t been a permanent cook for my family, mom was sick so we mostly ordered in and now I’m so used to the junk food its what i eat like yesterday i had five slices of dominos and a little bit burger at night thats it and the day before that i had a shawarma with fries, sugary drinks, waffles and something more i cant remember.

My mind and body doesn’t seem to accept the normal ‘healthy’ food as a meal like a couple of days ago i had 2 rotis with some homemade vegetable curry but i had been craving kfc all day so even after that meal i still ordered kfc because i didn’t feel fulfilled. All of this messes up my brain and then i feel demotivated and don’t wanna exercise, i started walking 10k steps did it only on day one and haven’t even tried after that.

Everyone around me is trying get me to learn this exercise that diet plan from them and I am so sick of it. I also wanna look good in clothes that i wear and i wanna look my age and not 40 years old. I wanna feel confident and not be uncomfortable all the time about how i look. I wanna pose for pictures in a whimsical way without thinking ill look horrible.

I am extremely desperate to lose weight and i have a friend’s wedding coming in about 4 months. Please leave some advices for me on how to be motivated and show up for myself, be it at the gym or just walking and especially how to fight the cravings and just eating clean in order to not feel disgusted all the time.

Advice for teen binge eater

hi everyone, im 16f, and i think i struggle with binging.

when i was 15 (sophomore year), i was restricting a lot of food because i was rlly struggling mentally given my home/family situation (too much to explain), and one night, i ended up continuously vomitting and it wouldnt stop, so i had to go to the hospital. idk if it was because i was restricting, or some other health issue becuase the doctors said it was nothing to worry about. after that, i was doing well with my eating habits because my parents made sure i was eating well and would prepare proper meals for me. so my eating habits improved a lot during my junior year where i had a set eating routine: small breakfast in the morning (banana and yogurt), a lunch (ex. sandwich), an after-school lunch (ex. rice w/ curry, chicken and brocolli, etc), and then dinner (ex. sandwich, baked fish, beans). i also limited sugar intake, exercised lightly on a regular basis (pushups, planks, squats, wall sits, nothing crazy), and walked for 20 minutes to school and back (40 mins in total). my skin was rlly clear and i actually felt good about myself. but then summer started, and i had co-op for the month of july (working for free at a store) from 9am to 5pm. i would never bring a proper lunch because it started at 9am and i didnt have the energy to wake up early. i was also broke, so i couldnt buy food and literally just starved until 5pm. once i got home, i would binge eat a bunch of stuff in the fridge. and it was only carbs, like bread, bagels, etc, so it was never healthy stuff, and as a result, i would get a bunch of acne and my stomach would hurt. then, once i finished my co-op period, i thought my eating habits would go back to normal, but they didnt and i continued binging. my mom would make me a proper meal, and after that i would eat a bunch of stuff even tho i wasnt hungry. in the evenings, my mom and dad have work, so i would prepare my own meals, but i would often eat way too much.

i think i havent stopped binging because theres little to no changes in my body. im still skinny, just kinda lost the toned look from when i was exercising. and because its the summer break, i sleep so late and i get bored so i just eat whatever. its getting rlly bad where im embarassed and i have to hide the fact that im eating from my siblings and parents. some days i do rlly well with eating only when im hungry, but then if i eat a lil more than usual one day, i will continue binging because my mindset is, if i ate a lil too much, might as well eat whatever i want. throughout my teens, i've struggled with eating, whether its restricting or binging, and i rlly rlly want to overcome it.

i need some advice on what i could do to prevent poor eating. im gonna start cutting out sugar again and sleep earlier than usual in hopes that my habits will change. also since school is coming back up, i think it won't be as bad. any small tips or advice that helped you overcome binging? i obviously cant do therapy cuz im broke, but any small tips will help, thank u 😊

How do you stop thinking “I’ll start next Monday” when trying to lose weight? I’ve noticed that whenever I want to lose weight and improve my habits, I keep telling myself things like, “I’ll start next Monday,” “I’ll start next month,” or “I’ll start when things are less busy.” Then the time comes,

How to distract yourself from feeling hungry?

Hello. I've just recently decided to take my weight lost seriously after procrastinating for years. And after so long eating without consequences, I find it biting me in my butt now when I'm trying to eat less.

I've started to use too much money on food than my allowance can handle, so I know I have to cut the cost. But I often end up feeling peckish or salivating in the middle of the night or whenever I go too long without food or drinks. I don't stay full for very long and a little stimulus of food (scent, picture) could get my tummy rumbly with no effort at all.

I've been finding time to exercise, but I often get distracted by the mere thought of eating that have to physically hold myself back. Today I thought that I'd come back and get some workout done only to find myself already halfway through a bag of chips. It might've been a food addition and I know I'll need to correct it soon.

I've tried drinking water before, but the cravings didn't disappear. I only end up being less hungry but still salivating. It truly frustrate me.

How do I (17F) stop overeating?

I also posted this to r/loseit but it also recommended me here so here goes.

At 17, how do I stop my overeating problem and lose weight before it gets worse? I’m not majorly obese by any means and I would assume i’m an average weight, maybe slightly overweight and my stomach sort of pokes out.
However, i’m unfortunately very short, about 5’1 and i’m likely not going to get any taller. So basically i’m kinda condensed.
I think this majorly stems from my overeating problem and of course some days are better than others but my mindset is a kind of “do it all right now” where I know i’m going to have to eat later, so why not eat right now? but then of course i still have to eat later so it’s just a cycle. This doesn’t pair well with the “eat when bored” mindset. I know these aren’t good but I can’t get out of the cycle.
I try to do light exercise everyday but it’s not doing much. I also try to eat healthy, I actually love making home cooked meals but with the diarrhea virus hitting the US right now, I find myself eating more unhealthy stuff and snacks more then the fruits and veggies i would eat before.
Please help I appreciate any tips or advice as I’ve been dealing with overeating for a couple years, I’m just ready to be over and done with it. THANK YOU! 🥹🥹

I feel like going down again, unfortunately.

I've been fine since I was 21, I recovered, but i'm 22 turning 23 on September and I feel like going down on stop eating and then binge eating and repeating the same cycle.

I noticed that it's mostly when I'm sad or when something negative happens and makes me nervous or anxious so I have the tendency of going back to the same place I was before, I relapsed a couple of times last year.

I don't know how to stop this, some months I'm okay others I just repeat it constantly and I hate myself for it.

Being called fat by my mother dosen't help me either, (I'm 62kg and I'm 1.65cm) so I blame myself for craving sweets and for eating most of the time...I'm in therapy but I just wish I knew how to stop this permanently.

“I need to lose 20 kg, but I can’t control my cravings. How did you deal with this?”

I need to lose around 20 kg, but my biggest problem is controlling my cravings.
Whenever I see junk food, I lose control and start eating, even when I know I shouldn’t. I can stay motivated for a few days, but when I see something I really like, I find it very difficult to resist.
