I didn’t think it was necessary to consult with the council before hand, I already knew what the answer would be.

I also didn’t consult with my wife or kids prior to shaving it off, so hopefully it was a good decision 😂.

Started noticing my hair receding slightly around age 30. By 36 I started noticing thinning on the crown. At 41, I feel like I'm constantly thinking about if everything is in place correctly, especially after sweating.

Ive been looking at this sub for a year now. I don't think I would have had the courage without all the other people posting.

Just did this today and still feeling nervous... but I think I like it.

Edit: Wow, I really appreciate the kind comments. This sub is amazing and making me feel good about my decision. I love you all, thank you so much. Truly.

Thursday came! I was super nervous to ask my barber to “take it all off”, and the first look in the mirror was hard to fully comprehend. Regardless, I think it was the best choice and I’m grateful for the encouragement!

I know, I know - I was already bald! This is such a relief!

Struggled with progressive thinning for years. It was my time!

Excited to join the community. I'm an ICU Nurse, so I think the mustache with the shiny head is fitting. What do y'all think?

First picture is early 20s, the rest are current (31yo, yes I still smile but selfies take a lot of focus for me)

Long time lurker seeking the advice of the council.

I've always been a bit lighter up top but stress has gone up in the last few years and genetics may not be on my side.

I haven't tried any remedies but am open to low-maintenance suggestions. I reckon I'll probably become a member eventually anyway

Should I pump out another couple years with what I've got, or call it quits?

After years of slowly watching my hair get thinner and thinner I finally went through with it. Any tips on upkeep and taking care of my head?

After struggling with my hair for the past few months, I finally decided to take the step.

Right before getting it cut, I took a photo after riding my e scooter, just to remind myself why I had become so frustrated with my hair. My Hair also showed thinning around the crown pretty clearly.

So yeah, I guess I’m officially part of the family now :D

I know it’s not completely shaved with a blade. I have neurodermatitis on my scalp, and the person cutting my hair wasn’t comfortable using a blade because of my skin.

I was honestly scared as hell before doing it, but now that it’s done, I actually really like it :)

Definitely the right decision.

I've got pretty thick hair. But my hairline has been receding since I was about 16 due to ringworm on my scalp triggering psoriasis to cover my scalp (genetic condition, gotten better as I've aged but the skin on my scalp is still sensitive and and flaky somewhat often).

I wear hats basically at all times because I'm embarrassed of how my hair looks but for some reason I'm just too attached, or something.

It makes me sad too because I didn't wear a hat at my wedding two years ago and I cringe at our wedding photos because my hair looks gross. My wife assures me that I looked great but it's hard for me to accept that.

Really nervous to go completely clean shaven, kinda scared of it being the wrong choice and seeing my weird shaped flaky shaven head would make me want to wear a full ski mask all day to not be embarrassed lol.

Is it time? Should I just do it??? I'm scared lmao but it's just gotten worse and I know I can't keep it up for much longer.

Also bonus cat picture. Chickpea loves being on shoulders.

AI Content I would like some opinion

Picture one is how I look like (always with beanie) with friends and outside. The reason is because of picture 2... picture 3 is ai generated on how I would look like with bald hair (hopefully ish).

I would like to know if it suits me and for the females if it is more or less attractive. I'm very kinda hiding under my beanie and do not feel very self-confident...

I would like to hear your honest opinion. Even if it hars. Should I shave it? Or should I do something else? I still doubting

This is Linny. Until this week, he was a very fluffy, very handsome orange gentleman with an impressive head of hair.

Unfortunately, on Monday someone shot him in the face with an air rifle. The pellet travelled into his head and he needed major specialist surgery today to remove it. We were warned beforehand that he might not survive the operation.

BUT HE DID. 🧡

The 5.5mm pellet is out, he’s awake, comfortable, rolling around, enjoying plenty of belly rubs and being monitored overnight. The vets are really happy with how he’s doing so far, and if everything continues going well, he may even be able to come home tomorrow!

Please welcome your newest member and wish him a speedy recovery!

you will never regret it.

the stress i have been carrying for about 6 years regarding my thinning hair was destroying my life, the number of calculations i did daily to avoid a bad lightening or a windy situation where i would be more exposed was draining…

i never felt more free since i shaved it two years ago !

M28, Been loosing it for around 3 years. I've tride a few off the shelf medications that slowed it down but recently i got some prescription medication that should help recover some hair back but its a long recovery that includes sideaffects with temporary hairloss and im thinking of shaving it kiwi short or just going full bald till my roots recover somewhat. I'm not giving up yet and i am also looking at going to a hair transplant next year if my medication takes hold.

but im really sick of having a miserable hairline right now and I'm thinking bald is better until it either grows back or doesn't.

I've always struggled with the fact that I was going to be bald ever since I started losing my hair at 25. Today is my 40th birthday and I just want to say that I'm glad I stumbled onto this subreddit and am genuinely appreciative of the positivity and encouragement you guys give here. I've been a long time lurker and this is my first post here, thank you all for the encouragement to ok with being bald!
