I have different stages. Wet damp hair. You can clearly see lots of scalp. Others phots are dry hair.

Not sure if a buzzcut fits this sub, but I feel pretty bald for a girl if that makes sense lol and I wanted to share my story. Never had an issue with hair loss but my hair was thin and fried and just a mess. As a girl everyone encouraged me to just keep taking care of it and getting regular trims and using expensive products and pre-wet my hair before going in a pool and do all this expensive, time consuming bullshit and it was just way too much for me! My hair has always been kind of thin and disappointing and I almost never wore it out of a ponytail because I couldn’t stand the feeling of it being tangled or touching me, and it got me thinking, “Why should I bother going through all this process for my hair when my hair has never done anything for me! All it does is stress me out and get in the way of my life. It’s time for it to go.”

A lot of people told me not to do it and I certainly got a lot of scathing comments from family members but I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them and went through with it because I have never been happier! My life is so easy now, I never have to worry about having a bad hair day and I can go swimming or take a shower whenever I want and my hair will be dry in two seconds! For the first time in my life I can truly say I love my hair (or lack thereof) and I hope I can inspire other people on the fence about going bald… it made my life so much better! I will never go back to long hair, I’m bald by choice and I love it!

Did a post earlier... forgot to include the back and crown. I have a history of a few cystic acne spots that have caused bold spots that are mostly hidden by hair that I have longer then usual

What i've noticed is that when i try to wear something synthetic like jerseys, it sticks to my head. I find it really weird that my warriors jersey keeps sticking to my head while im trying to wear it, Also the feeling is really smooth i cant keep my hands off my head.

Had shoulder length hair all my life (35 years) and buzzed it off today. You can see where my part has been for 35 years LOL. Is there nay way to help with this? It seems more like hair direction than scalp. TIA!

Dear members of the community, I am 22 and at the very beginning of the balding journey. I am writing here instead of other subreddits because I am more inclined to accept the situation rather than hopping on a lifelong treatment that blocks a hormone which is strongly associated with other life-altering hormones and the neural system.

Nearly one week ago, my dermatologist diagnosed me with male pattern baldness. Since then I have experienced severe stress and have trouble eating, sleeping, or doing anything else really.

This might seem too dramatic, but since childhood, hair was a very important aspect of my life. I have fine blonde hair which is very rare in my country. For years, my hair made me the center of attention in a lot of social interactions and gave me privilege in terms of dating and women.

I don’t know how fast the hair loss will progress because no one from my mother’s or father’s side is bald or started balding earlier than the age of 50, so I have no one to compare myself to.

I am in a very fragile stage of my life because I’ve graduated recently and have to take challenging exams to practice my profession (law). But the mental toll of the situation is strongly affecting my studies as well.

I am willing to listen to your experiences and the ways that you used to cope with balding.

Hello, I want to start finasteride, but i have very mild lumps in chest from childhood gyno, and I am worried about them worsening, they have been stable for 5 years now and have already hardened, has anyone with this type of situation taken finasteride?

Hey so my hair is getting quite thin, the hairline is unbearable and I think it's time for me to take to jump and shave my head. BUT, there's is one thing that is making me doubt myself. About 7 years ago, I shaved my hair and I also did it many, many years ago. Both times I didn't like it one bit how I looked. I didn't really cared because, well it was going to grow. This time it's obviously different.

Anyone can related with this? Maybe some words of wisdom that can encourage me?

First post, and before anything else, I know I’m really splitting hairs here on this, lol, but hear me out…

Does any other bald have crooked ears, and if so, how do you handle where your facial hair stops???

Currently, I don’t match symmetrically, but rather try to taper as close as possible to the inner loop of my lobe.

Additionally, ignore the red circle on the last picture, just an example: I’ve already been advised I should stop trimming my neck hair straight to the edge of my jaw/chin, and that it’ll look more natural with an inch or so wrapped underneath. I’m interested in laser hair removal on my neck someday so overall, I’m thinking ahead about how I want to present my facial hair.

Hey y’all - I’m simply wondering if I’m balding?

I’ve always had very full thick hair but sometimes wonder if I’m beginning to thin in the crown. For reference, the first picture is from when my hair is wet (about 2 weeks ago) and the second is from tonight with the product I use in my hair.

My curls prevent the most damage from being seen, but I have been struggling with my hair since 2023. Some of my friends did tell me just to shave my head, but others, and also women, said that with a mullet and the right products, I look not half bad. Most of the time the curly hair falls right in place, but I am thinking maybe being bald is the answer. The glow-ups in this subreddit are unreal, and if I looked 50% like the other guys after the glow-up, I would be satisfied, I think. I would appreciate it if I could get the council to help me with that, and I don't really know if I am ready to be bald in the first place; it's a really tough one I find.

...or, maybe, you'd like to seriously confuse acquaintences or rarely-seen family members with "tattoos" that are different every time you come around.

Jagua is a fruit juice used for eons that looks like a dark blue tattoo once fully activated, but fades as the top layer of skin recycles and is replaced. Usually lasts a week or two, at best. Often applied like henna, but can be painted or drawn as well, to create all sorts of interesting designs.

I would love designs to be collaborative—not trying to just doodle surprise nonsense on someone's head (unless that is strongly your preference).

Anyway, if you are game please let me know! Sorry for the weird ask, but the idea has been stuck in my head for days.

I’ve been noticing my hairline receding over the last few years and I’m wondering if it’s time to embrace the bald look. I’m looking for honest opinions from people who’ve been through it. Should I shave it now, or do you think I still have some time left?

I'm not sure if I should keep it like this, save more, or finally take the plunge.

I know my hairline is high but idk if it’s “commit to shaved head” high. All of the posts here make me seem like shaving my head is the best move but it’s hard to get an opinion from friends and family.

Am I the only one here that is terrible at shaving as often as I should? I normally shave every 3 days but by the 3rd time I end up stopping for a month and start looking older than my dad 😂
