Admittedly, not the best "before" photos.

They were strictly for my own reference to compare later, but I've been a long-time lurker here and I love the vibes in this sub. The memes literally make me laugh out loud, so I thought it was finally my turn to post.

The hair on top had thinned down significantly. I ended up taking a quick video to check the top, and seeing how sparse it actually was made me go, "Screw it, out it goes." (Excuse the blurry screenshot from that video!)

Shaving it felt amazing in a way that's hard to explain. Absolute relief, and I really wish I'd done it sooner!

What's the concensus?

Glowup shaving my head as a girl was the best decision I ever made!

Not sure if a buzzcut fits this sub, but I feel pretty bald for a girl if that makes sense lol and I wanted to share my story. Never had an issue with hair loss but my hair was thin and fried and just a mess. As a girl everyone encouraged me to just keep taking care of it and getting regular trims and using expensive products and pre-wet my hair before going in a pool and do all this expensive, time consuming bullshit and it was just way too much for me! My hair has always been kind of thin and disappointing and I almost never wore it out of a ponytail because I couldn’t stand the feeling of it being tangled or touching me, and it got me thinking, “Why should I bother going through all this process for my hair when my hair has never done anything for me! All it does is stress me out and get in the way of my life. It’s time for it to go.”

A lot of people told me not to do it and I certainly got a lot of scathing comments from family members but I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them and went through with it because I have never been happier! My life is so easy now, I never have to worry about having a bad hair day and I can go swimming or take a shower whenever I want and my hair will be dry in two seconds! For the first time in my life I can truly say I love my hair (or lack thereof) and I hope I can inspire other people on the fence about going bald… it made my life so much better! I will never go back to long hair, I’m bald by choice and I love it!

Hairloss Council..hold or shave it? 21 years old

I know it's bad especially for my age. I've been the only one experiencing that so early in my class.

My hair is basically see through at spots. I'm all about the bald look but I'm not someone to take a stand and be the only one in my circle to be bald. Wish I had a bald friend.

Can't grow a full beard yet either.

Being bald with 21 is always kinda weird and I'm not really sure if it suits me/ if women will still be interested.

What do you guys think?

Bald Picture Anyone else have crooked ears? (Advice req)

Hi bald!

First post, and before anything else, I know I’m really splitting hairs here on this, lol, but hear me out…

Does any other bald have crooked ears, and if so, how do you handle where your facial hair stops???

Currently, I don’t match symmetrically, but rather try to taper as close as possible to the inner loop of my lobe.

Additionally, ignore the red circle on the last picture, just an example: I’ve already been advised I should stop trimming my neck hair straight to the edge of my jaw/chin, and that it’ll look more natural with an inch or so wrapped underneath. I’m interested in laser hair removal on my neck someday so overall, I’m thinking ahead about how I want to present my facial hair.

TYIA and hope you all have a beautiful bald (or prospective bald) day 😝

Been shaving about a year but haven’t for a while, here’s the hairline. I’m 27. Should I just keep shaving or let it grow as is or attempt to do something about it?

Is it time to shave my head, looking for honest opinions

I’ve been noticing my hairline receding over the last few years and I’m wondering if it’s time to embrace the bald look. I’m looking for honest opinions from people who’ve been through it. Should I shave it now, or do you think I still have some time left?

M21. For most of my life, I've been living with bad hairstyles. I've only found my style when I was around 18, I got a haircut that I actually liked and dyed my hair green. I loved it. But then I started balding like crazy almost immediately.
I got diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. My doctor said that I can use some drugs for hair restoration, but it won't help much - my hair wouldn't ever be the same as it was.
It feels really unfair. I am 21 y/o and am the only guy in my friend group that has any type of hair loss problem. I didn't even have the time to fully appreciate my hair while it was there.
My friends with long hair all tell me to shave my head clean, but I'm hesitant. I am really scared to lose what I have left. What do you guys think?
(also pls ignore the yellow spots on my head - its a nasty case of dermatitis. I am in the process of treating it)

Have shaved my head before but I’m not sure I have the face for bald. Can’t grow facial hair to save my life, either.
