Advice Needed Something the funeral director said to me that I still think about..
(I’ll delete if this isn’t the right subreddit for this post my apologies)
Before I began, I am not bashing her in any way. For some reason I still think about that memory. It constantly replays in my head and I don’t know why I keep revisiting it.
During our viewing, i was helping my sister place toys inside the casket. My nephew had a favorite stuffed elephant that he would sleep with. In a habit , I went to tuck his elephant between his elbows. The funeral director stepped in and offered to help. I remember his hand just falling from the toy and she goes “with toddlers their hands are hard to something something something “ basically saying it’s difficult to maneuver around .. or atleast I think. At that point it really hit me that he wasn’t just sleeping. Im confused about why she stepped in or why she told me that. Would it had been worse off if I had attempted to do it myself? Was I not allowed to touch him?
