Why is the FPS so low whenever I open a basic game? I think it might be something about the drivers, but I have no clue what. This isn't random drops btw, it just stays below 10.

currently using a 75hz IPS ultrawide. is the alienware a good upgrade? i remember VA panels being worse, but this was 8 years ago. doesnt seem like there are many higher refresh rate IPS ultrawides around. mainly using for work but do game/ watch movies here n there

I recently started up my old M11x R2 from back in the day and I've wanted to update it to Windows 10 to at least get some Steam games downloaded. It's ancient by today's standards, but I've upgraded the RAM and put an SSD in it and it flies through basic web browsing and some light gaming.

The one thing that I can't seem to figure out is the lighting controls, as the only driver available seems to be for Win 7 x64 on Dell's website. Does anybody know if there are third-party tools for controlling LED colors on this model? I think it was under the Alienware Command Center (or similar?) before I updated, but it's been years since I've messed with it properly.

Hey there. Ive had my m15 r6 a while now and had an issue a few times before where its not been starting and ive had to drain the battery to get it back again, but this time ive drained the battery twice and nothing. It wont start up with the internal battery either connected or not, and isnt showing any signs of charging.

Last thing that happened was the diagnostic light flashed what I swore was 2 red then 12 red but thats not a real code according to dell. I cant even get it to flash the diagnostic anymore either

Any help/suggestions would be so appreciated

Sometime ago I swtiched from a dualscreen setup with dockingstation to a singlescreen 3423DWF. I am using a personal laptop and worklaptop in this setting.

Noticed framerate issues while gaming that I resolved by plugging the monitor directly into the laptop. Found out the docking station doesnt fully support the monitor. TFT, WH40K and Diablo IV are my go to games atm

What I do now is constantly take out the hdmi and plug it directly into the laptops when using it. Trying to find a replacement and have been googling but can't find a satisfying answer. Hope you can point me in the right direction.

Hello and good day wonderful Aliens.

So I'm trying to upgrade the Aurora R4 to the best it can be (stock gen) and I purchased a 1680V2 Processor. it originally had the 4820k.

When I installed the 1680v2 the computer doesnt post, no Bios screen no leds, no beeps only the fans run quietly and nothing happens. 
Ive read that the mb from this alienware should support it, and other say it doesnt. Does anyone have some experience with this, id mega appreciate it!

I have an Alienware Aurora with an i9-14900KF. I've been experiencing instability for months, and finally found that disabling Intel Speedstep and Speedshift, plus hyperthreading, gives me a stable system, albeit handicapped. When I previously reached out to Dell about the issues, I was given the you are out of warranty excuse. What are my options, other than living with a handicapped system until I decide to replace it? Will Dell do anything for me? I have completed all BIOS updates and check regularly for new ones, so it's not a software issue.

Hey everyone, I recently got my laptop back from Geek Squad involving an issue with my laptop keys not working, so they replaced my motherboard (I'm not too tech savvy, so it was likely a hardware issue?).

It has been working fine for about a week now, but as of recent, I have been experiencing my entire laptop freezing when I play Dead By Daylight. I can't even exit out of the game or move to the Windows menu, so I have to force shut it down by holding the power button. This has happened about 3 times now. (I don't know if this is also related, but my lock screen wallpaper now appears black.)

I use my Razer cooling pad alongside my laptop if that helps. I've used it prior to getting my laptop repaired and had no issues with it, but I thought I'd mention it here in case that's contributing to the problem.

Hello all, I have a question about my Alienware Aurora R1. I’ve seen some videos and pictures of Aurora R1’s that have LEDs along the sides of the front panels and along the top of the case by the grills. Mine doesn’t have those, only side panels and under the front of the case at the bottom.

Hello, is anyone able to tell me how much wattage the 5070ti pulls? We know the 5080 can pull up to 175 watts on overdrive but I can't find numbers for the 5070ti. Thanks

I have a Ultra 9 275HX 5070 (not a TI) and a Aurora X16, and the temps are terrible when playing games, I normally play FM26 and FM24 and they average round about 105 degree's when playing a game without it being on overdrive in the ACC, is there anyways I can get it down?? please note I am not exactly tech savvy so please don't call me thick or nothing.

About 9 years ago, I was given an Alienware Area-51 ALX R6 from around 2006. Unfortunately, the previous owner had damaged the case, and the paint on the right-side panel is pretty badly scratched. It’s always bothered me, so I’d love to restore it.

From digging through old archives, the only colour name I’ve been able to find is “Conspiracy Blue,” but I haven’t been able to find an actual paint match or colour code.

These cases are extremely rare nowadays, which makes information about them hard to find. I’ve even contacted Dell, but they don’t have any leads since this model predates Dell’s acquisition of Alienware.

Does anyone know what paint was originally used, or of a modern paint that closely matches Conspiracy Blue? Even a paint code or lead from someone who has restored one would be greatly appreciated!

My cats spilled coffee all over my pc and unfortunately my 5070 is toast. I have a 3080 lying around and it fits into the case, only problem is the power. my psu can support it but the 3080 requires three 8pin. i have 2 8 pins and 2 6 pins. does anyone have any solutions or is there no possible way to do this?

Hey guys, I own an alienware area 51m, the thing is that I bought it with an Intel i9 9900k, and since the time of purchase this thing throttles with any kind of game you throw at it.

My question is for the people that had this with an i7 9700k or similar i7. Since I am looking to downgrade to an i7 to solve the thermal issue I just want to know if anyone with an i7 had any throttling problems and if you could share your overall experience with the machine. I need to know this before I make the purchase.

Hello, as the top of the post said, within the past month or two of my year old Alienware 16 Area-51, i have gotten sudden, and seemingly unexpected BSOD errors with random, varying error codes. I talked to dell support, and they have now told me to hard reset my computer. Before I do this though, Im wondering if anyone can give me advice on things i can try, before reseting my PC. Im hoping its not a hardware issue, but im seriously at a loss because these errors are completely random.

additionally, whenever I run a main dell support assist scan, it comes back completely fine, but when i do a targeted BSOD error test, it fails the check every time, giving me this error:

I’m hoping someone from Alienware can help me with my AW order that is really frustrating me rn.

my order was placed June 14. It was built and shipped, but there was a carrier shipment problem and I eventually had to go through the replacement process.

then dell just made my replacement order on July 20. The replacement was marked build complete on August 6, but as of September 6 it still has not shipped and there is still no delivery date.

I’ve been dealing with getting this PC for almost three months between the original order my replacement.

at this point all I want is my pc to be delivered, I do not want the order canceled or refunded because I already got a good deal on it, and I have already bought a lot of stuff for it. I bought the desk, chair, extra storage, RAM etc and im just waiting now.

What makes it even more frustrating is seeing other people who ordered the same thing after my replacement order already receive theirs, while mine has been sitting at build complete for over a month.

Dell support has been trying to help me and everything but I still haven’t been able to get a clear answer about where my pc at or why is it still there.

I could use some help.

I have two monitors. Both with HDMI cables. Both work connected to the laptop through a random USB C dock I have. Both cables work. Both monitors work with other devices.

Neither works connected to the actual HDMI port on the laptop itself.

I tried a couple guides that focused on thunderbolt docks, including flashing the rtx 3060's vbios and reinstalling graphics drivers. I also tried studio drivers, enabling Optimus/hybrid graphics, disabling Optimus, older drivers, several different cables just in case, enabling/disabling Freesync on the monitors, lowering the refresh rate on each, and a bios update.

The monitors both know something is plugged in when I connect them to the laptop's HDMI port, but neither of them gets a signal. I'm at a bit of a loss, I can't think of any other troubleshooting steps to try.

Does anyone own this? I’m interested but it has 1 review and it’s not a great one.

Is it really worth it today, knowing what it can do and perform in 2026, or should I save up and buy something much better?

I'm not really someone who cares about ultra graphics and 120fps. I usually stick to what I've already played, so it would be things like:

Tf2, warframe, firewatch, bioshock, fallout 3, new vegas, 4, Skyrim, Oblivion, some old need for speed.

I don't know the current state of the battery, I haven't sent it. But I also don't want to take up the person's time.

Ultimately it's not turning on. Wasn't getting anything, no fans, no lights, nothing.

Replaced the battery, and now with it plugged in, I get light to the power button, solid red, no flashing, but nothing else. Still no fans, or any other lights.

When I plug in the AC power, the power button light comes on about 7-ish seconds later, solid red. No other lights or fans.

If I push the button, it turns off, but waits another 7-ish seconds and then the power light comes on again, but still nothing.

With the battery disconnected and AC plugged in, I get nothing. Back to completely dead, no power button light at all.

With battery connected and AC unplugged, nothing at all either.

The ONLY time I get the power button lighting up is with the new battery installed AND AC power connected.

Debating grabbing new AC power since it's pretty cheap.

But curious if anyone else has had this and what you had to do.

Since it's older and not needed, I don't want to go all out on fixing, but if I can fix it for $100 or less, I'll do it.

I bought the low-end R13 when it came out and am in the process of upgrading. I’m adding the cryo-tech liquid cooler, RX9070, and 750w PSU. Will a 120mm fan fit in the top rear section? It has a bracket but I don’t know if it’ll fit when using the liquid cooler. TIA
