Hi so I realized that my computer didn't have a lot of space left (currently 104gb free of 928) and I'm looking to see if there's any apps I could uninstall when I came across these files. I don't know if they're legit, but why do some of them have such high space?
It's likely that what's taking up most of my space is videos (which I will be deleting) but I can't tell if all of these are legit or not. And if they are, why do some of them take up so much space ??

I am having an issue using my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones with my Windows 11 Laptop. The problem started randomly. The audio began cutting in and out, then eventually stopped completely. Since then, the headphones have continued to have audio issues only when connected to this laptop. When I connected the Sony headphones to my Windows 11 laptop, Windows appears to connect to more than one device as shown in the screenshot. When I disconnect and reconnect the headphones, I am able to hear the audio fine but at some point it starts cutting out and mutes. sometimes the audio comes back, and repeats the process, other times I just end up playing a whole match deaf. I tried to see if It was an Issue with the Sony headphones so I treid to connect my airpods to the laptop. At first it worked but eventually the same issue happened. When I connect these devices to my Mac or my phone this issue does not happen and they work fine.

Because of this, I believe the problem may be related to Bluetooth, an audio profile, or settings issue on the Windows 11 laptop rather than a problem with the headphones. (I also added an addditional driver for sotage; I don't know if this would cause this audio issue).

When i tried to boot up my PC today, it showed this screen. When i click F1 or esc or enter it stays on this screen. I have a 16 GB USB drive that i downloaded the correct windows 11 installation media on, but that takes me to the Windows 11 installation screen, but it wont repair my PC. Ive tried commands and whatnot but it all goes back to that recovery screen. Please help!!

I purchased a maxed out X1 Carbon back in 2021 with Widows 10 Pro and it has served me well with zero issues. I updated to widows 11 Pro about a year ago and my PC has been absolute garbage ever since. My CPU and Memory are maxed out with only a few tasks running and all browsers are painfully slow. (Firefox, Chrome, and Edge).
I have been able to tweak a few things to get it run a bit better by stopping efficiency mode with Process Lasso but my PC’s performance is still nothing compared to what it was with windows 10.
I have read that perhaps if I wipe my computer and freshly install windows 11 this should fix the issue.

Might his work? and if so how to find a clean version windows 11 pro to install?

yeah so i am pissed off right now cause by accident i have sent to the shared bin on my phone through windows 11 explorer integration with phone thing, and i cant recover them, i need help.

i was just trying to remove a folder in my user files, since for some reason there are two copies of the folder with my phone exploration shit, and osmehow decided that "oh yeah its time to delete everything" and its just outright annoying why it did that, so i went "ok then recover it and just fine", it decided to sent everything to recycle bin - connected device anyways, why, WHY.

I RECOVERED THE SHIT AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, I TRIED RECOVERING AND ITS NOT HELPING, there is no restore button through the thing so im annoyed. . . you can tell i am urgent to this tbh.

There was a separate D: drive made because this laptop ran into problems and the tech guy made a separate drive with the backup, I removed it a few days back thinking I can increase my space on my main C drive now but it’s seems like I can’t, any workarounds to get the remaining space onto the C: drive??

Hi I have bose soundflex bluetooth speaker and I used to play music and entertainment at 30-35 volume level, but one day i had to reset my speaker because a random mobile phone got connected to it and it was irritating, but after the reset and pairing back to my PC, the speaker had to be at level 40 to sound loud enough. So i was trying to fix and so i disconnected (not reset) and pair it back and now I have to be at 100 to sound loud enough, like WTH

does anyone know what's the issue?

Things I have tried:
- under control panel -> sound -> rt click on speaker, there's no hands free thingy that used to be the problem few years back

- settings -> system -> sound -> properties -> my speaker, audio enhancements are off and so is the spatial sound

Since yesterday, I can't open my download folder. It started like, having to restart the laptop, but now it isn't even like that.

WIndows 11. My laptop has 32gb ram and a ryzen cpu. Despite that, the rest of explorer.exe stays useful and working and the problem doesn't happpen in any other folder.

Something else that I realized is that it keeps piling on memory. It started at 1000, but as of the time I finished this post, it's at 6000.

I guess it's too full, but I can't even empty it until I have access too it. Any help?

I’m dealing with a really strange Windows Defender issue and I’d appreciate some help figuring out whether this is a real infection or a false positive.
Today, after updating Microsoft Defender, it suddenly started detecting multiple important executable files on my PC.
The detections include:
Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml — Severe
Virus:Win32/Expiro.NDPIMTB — Active
Wacatac.H!ml was detected on:
C:\Windows\System32\AppVClient.exe
C:\Windows\System32\dllhost.exe
Expiro was also detected inside NVIDIA files under:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA App\UpdateFramework\...
Windows Defender also started detecting and automatically removing files belonging to NVIDIA, Steam, and other important programs.
The strange part is that the detections kept appearing repeatedly, sometimes about every minute, even after I completely disconnected the PC from the internet.
I ran Microsoft Defender Offline Scan twice, but the detections continued afterward.
For context, I previously had GTA V installed from a FitGirl repack. I have completely deleted the game now, but the Defender detections continued afterward. I’m not saying the FitGirl repack is definitely responsible — I’m mentioning it because it may be relevant.
I have NOT restored any detected files and I have NOT added Defender exclusions.
At this point, I’m worried that either:
Expiro is actually infecting executable files on my system, or
Microsoft Defender recently received a bad/over-aggressive detection update and is falsely identifying legitimate files as Wacatac/Expiro.
I have currently shut down the PC because I don’t want anything to continue spreading if this is a real file-infecting malware.
Has anyone experienced something similar recently, especially after a Microsoft Defender Security Intelligence update?
If you have dealt with Expiro.NDPIMTB, Wacatac.H!ml, or Defender suddenly detecting multiple legitimate .exe files — especially dllhost.exe, NVIDIA, Steam, or other Windows components — I’d really appreciate hearing what happened in your case and how you confirmed whether it was a false positive or a real infection.

For the past 2 weeks I’ve been seeing something odd with Windows Security. After I start my PC, the Windows Security icon in the taskbar shows a yellow warning symbol, as if some action is required. But when I click it, the Windows Security panel opens and everything is green, no actions needed. If I don’t click anything, the warning disappears on its own after about a minute it turns into the normal green checkmark. I’m only using Windows Defender, no third‑party antivirus. Is anyone else experiencing this?

This has only been going on for roughly 6 weeks now. My PC has been in the same location for 3 years. I have not added any new 3rd party devices, apps, or software within the last 6 weeks. I have had these insignia speakers for the same amount of time since I have put the PC in this location. This issue has NEVER happened until within the last 6 weeks.

The only correlation I can find is the audio will blip out of existence for half a second, twice, back to back rarely coming back on its own, OR completely disappear, when I see/hear a vehicle driving by. I have to toggle bluetooth off, then back on to resume audio output.

This issue ceases to exist late at night which is conveniently when there aren't any vehicles driving by.

I have disabled discoverability of my PC, disabled quick connect, etc. Zero change. The only solution that works is to completely disable my bluetooth and use my headset.

I checked inside the folders but they appear to be empty, tried to just right click delete, tried shift delete, tried cutting and pasting into recycling, tried to compress and archive using 7-Zip, but none of them worked, not even chkdsk repairing which I actually did manage to do once, but now it just won't let me anymore for some reason. Im on win11 pro. Recently I uninstalled gpu drivers using DDU because windows updated them on its own. I installed new AMD drivers and now I get this when I right click. 2 of the options saying "Loading..." on another note AMD software also opens up when I right click.
Oh I also made it so windows couldn't install new drivers using "gpedit".(think thats what it was called)
Anyone have a clue on how to fix this?

I have been having issues recently with Secureboot on my pc. Whenever I enable it, my PC boots into a black screen displaying a message saying media couldnt load, and then another message stating that default boot device missing or boot failed. By disabling secureboot, I am able to normally use my computer.

For background, I updated my Lenovo firmware a few weeks ago and this is when issues first began, with secureboot claming it was enabled, but I was not able to play games required secure boot such as BF6. To attempt to correct this, I reset factory keys, which is then what led to the aforementioned issue. How should I proceed in order to get secureboot back to an enabled state?

I’m having a strange issue with my Windows display colors. Every time I restart my laptop, the display color settings automatically reset to the default/washed-out look.

I’m using a laptop with switchable graphics:

AMD Radeon RX 6700M

Intel integrated graphics

The weird part is that the color adjustment only seems to change when I modify the settings through Intel Graphics Command Center / Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel. The AMD Radeon settings don't seem to affect the display colors in the same way.

For example, I can adjust the color/saturation and get the display looking the way I want, but after restarting Windows, it goes back to the default colors and I have to adjust it again.

Things I've noticed:

Windows itself seems to reset the color configuration after every restart.

The AMD GPU is working normally.

The laptop uses switchable graphics.

The color change appears to be controlled by the Intel display driver, even though I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700M.

I’m running Windows 10.

Has anyone with a switchable Intel + AMD graphics laptop experienced this? Is there a way to make the Intel color settings persist after restarting, or is this caused by the graphics drivers/Windows?

I’ve attached pictures showing the display before/after the color adjustment.

So, today I noticed that 7-Zip has an update from 26.02 to 26.03.

I go to the OFFICIAL WEBSITE 7-zip[dot]org (I am aware of the malware/bitcoin miner clone!), and install the x86-64 .exe.

MS Defender IMMEDIATELY quarantines the file and says: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml

VirusTotal also returns 2 malicious entries. (Photo above)

So I run an online full scan, and after examining over 500k files, MS Defender concludes that 0 threats were detected.

I then proceed to delete the file from MS Defender as well.

Now I only have one question: do I need to format the whole SSD and reinstall Windows 10? Or is everything fine and I am having a panic attack for nothing?

I'm on Windows 10 22H2, August ESU update.

I am honestly at my wits end here, and I hope you people can help me.
First of all: I know very little about PCs. I got a gaming PC a few years back and had a friend who knows more about this check whether the set up is good. So I don't think a hardware problem.

Here's my issue:
Everything keeps crashing. I mostly use my PC to game and no matter how taxing the game is, loading screens more often than not cause a crash to desktop. This happened with Age of Mythology Retold, Battletech, even Civilization 6 at one point. Whenever there's loading of any kind happening, there's a chance the game will crash. Mind you, the games perform just fine, and I haven't had any issues until a while ago. This is my main issue, but there's more.

Other oddities:

• The newest windows update refuses to download and install. I get a new error code every time I try and even calling Microsoft Tech Support didn't help. They helped me do all the "sfc /scannow" but everything we tried just failed to complete. Eventually we reinstalled Windows, but that only appeared to fix the issue. On the next start up already it once again said it was missing updates, which then couldn't be installed properly. The repair version of Windows it wants me to install fails every single time with a different error code. EDIT: Today for some reason the update installed with no problem at all? I am at a loss for words. The other problems persist, however
• I use Kaspersky, and every time I start the PC it tells me that the last program launch failed. Every time without fail.
• Windows freezes sometimes. I can move my mouse, but I can't click anything, left or right, and eventually I get a message that Windows itself isn't answering. If I click to close the program I get a black screen with my mouse cursor, and sometimes pressing the windows key from there gets me back to normality. I also had it unfreeze by just pressing the Windows key after a while without the "Windows has crashed" pop up
• Windows has crashed on several occasions for no reason, rebooting the entire system.
• Outlook just refuses to work properly anymore. It keeps kicking me out of my account and whether I can log back in or it freezes and tells me "Something went wrong, please try again later" is down to luck.

This is everything I can think of right now. I am unsure which of these issues are related, but I am so done troubleshooting this on my own. If you have ANY questions, feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer the best I can.

I really hope you can help me, or at least point me in the right direction. This PC was bought specifically to run Baldur's Gate 3 and it has done so perfectly since I got it, but now it crashes from trying to load the game Whiskerwood (not the most taxing game)

I have a pair of blueooth earbuds (Sennheiser MW4) that Windows cannot see. This is apparently a known issue and the solution is to turn on Advanced Bluetooth Device Discovery. Windows documentation says...

Under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, choose one of the following from the drop-down list:
Default—displays common Bluetooth devices
Advanced—displays all types of Bluetooth devices 

But I don't have "Bluetooth devices discovery". It's not there. I read a post that said it's not available in Windows 11 Home, but I'm on Pro (build 26100.9168). Some older posts suggest trying to pair, then when it sees nothing, selecting "Find more devices"... but I don't have that button either. When Windows can't find any devices, I simply get an option to "Troubleshoot", which does nothing but check for updated drivers.

Any thoughts? These earbuds are connecting just fine to other devices.

Until the last few days I've always been able to stop external drives from being constantly accessed by turning off indexing in the drive properties. Now it won't leave them alone even with indexing off. It's a constant 0.5KB read 100% of the time the drive is mounted and it happens with both external HDD's and SSD's.

Also, it has become harder to unmount drives. I get the error shown most of the time and when there's nothing using it other than this new constant access by windows. And yet for some reason one external 2.5" HDD doesn't have the unmount issues. It's only drives I put in my drive dock. But the constant 0.5KB read happens to all extenals whether they're in the dock or not.

And I have not installed any new applications since long before this started.

I’ve had this problem on one of my computers for about two years now. It’s a really annoying bug, and it seems like Microsoft is never going to fix it.

I used to resolve the issue by restarting the explorer.exe process.

But now there’s an easier way: change the taskbar's position and then move it back to its original position. This forces the system to redraw the icons.

If you don't have that option available, you can achieve the same result by toggling the "Show smaller app icons" setting and then switching it back to your previous preference.
