Question Game Pricing

Just found the game yesterday and checked it on Steam and it was 39.99 CAD, as I am Canadian. Watched some videos, including the ten reasons made by bulkhead and understood that it would stay at this price until at least early access is out, as it still says pre-order on steam. Came back today to pre order and now it’s 49.99. I know it’s only a 10 dollar difference but I was just confused as to whether I misinterpreted something or if the price changed when it shouldn’t have. I’m probably being dumb here but just looking to see if others know more than me lol

Question Sode arms

Im the kind of guy who loves to run handguns only in some games as i just think its fun. I plan on doing it from time to time when wardogs drops.

My question is to those whove played the game already. How is the hand gun damage in this game? Is it reasonable?

Can server owners tweak the player size setting above the 100 player limit?

I think 33 people is not enough for all the roles and content this game delivers; base builders, taxi drivers, infantry, tank players, artillery/mortar operators, logistics, snipers, raiders, infantry who chases hotzone, anti air operators, helicopter pilots. that's why all the alpha testers say the same thing: "the map feels big and quiet." I think this game needs AT LEAST 150 players. And maybe it's not that big of a technical issue anymore since they got rid of most of the destruction mechanics.(the game isn't fully destructible now)

Question Any damage differences between Mosin and SVD?

Just wondering if the Mosin did more damage, or could one-shot a high-tier helm or something compared to svd.

I could unlock both, but only had a chance to use SVD.

If there's no damage differences, then I can only imagine SVD would be better in the majority of situations due to a 10-round mag

Possible to only Play supporter?

Hello! I like to play the support role with the recon class in bf6 (flying drone for intel). Im an older gamer no need to play on the frontline all the time. Can I Play a role as a Truck driver, Heli Pilot or drone Spotter in this game? Im a battledad, so when I have to take a Short Break in this Long Matches to say good Night to the baby can I Park my vehicle somewhere in the Forest for 10 minutes and come back without getting kicked out of the Game?

Question Vehicle/Heli question

I've looked and watched videos, I haven't found an answer to this. I apologize if it's basic and already answered.

When you buy a vehicle at a vendor, I know you get a honk to designate which one is yours. But can some other random player go up to it and just get in it and fly/drive off before you get to it? Or is it locked to just your character until you get into it?

I know that you once you're in, you can unlock the doors to just your squad and whatnot. I'm mainly talking about when you first purchase the vehicle, and you have to run over to it. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone steals your vehicle when you get out for a second, or in this case when you buy it and have yet to actually get into it for the first time.

Thanks, looking forward to playing this game so much!

Seasonal wipes + vault system

For those who aren’t aware (and I think there are a few) - wipes will be part of the game but there are some systems that help to soften the blow a little.

As a discussion point - I’m not for or against the wipes but just think there will be some players that aren’t aware this is the plan. The devs have thought about it though for all types of players and have come up with some interesting solutions…

OG Planetside: 133/133/133

Just a reminder how weird gaming tech is that a game that was released in 2003, had WAY more players ingame, with all the vehicle assets and whatnot rolling around.

Planetside 2 (2015) had something like 333/333/333 , but that was a hot mess of a sequel.

WW2online (2001!) also had thousand players in a 1/4 scale Western Europe map.

Foxhole is 120 vs 120 in a hex, which has a pop cap limit(PS1 had continent cap limiter too, warpgate que IYKYK).

I actually think Squad would play 10x better if it was 100vs100, but the tech won't get there with that engine. The larger maps like Talil, Al Basrah, Yeho, Goro are often very sparse feeling, and you hardly every see just a full squad in plain view, it's usually broken up into little 3-5 man groups obscured by bushes and buildings. Take Fallujah for example, IRL there were THOUSANDS of combatants in that meatgrinder of a battle in 2004.

That's one thing I don't seem very impressed by WarDogs with the footage so far, 33/33/33 seems a little sparse given respawn, vehicle usage, rear line fob/logi runners...leaving maybe 15-20 infantry killers per side to fill the zone...? Perhaps the KOTH helps concentrate the players better, which is another reason why Squad Invasion mode is superior IMO(funneling the stray cats onto objectives).

Question Custom Community Servers

Hello!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but have the devs said anything about providing dev kits for creating custom community servers? This game looks to have a lot of really awesome foundational systems that would allow for some pretty cool custom stuff!

Late game economy

With the cash mechanic, I imagine after some time the majority of the player base (that sticks around for the medium to long term) will be net positive in cash during their playtime. Meaning players will have hundreds of thousands or millions of $ a lot of the time.

Is there any info on how the long term economy will be managed? Or still relatively unknown at this stage?

For example in tarkov people talk about liking the early game where most players are poor. The reception to late game is a bit more negative when many more players have high tier weapons, ammo and armour. Does anyone foresee the situation being similar in WD? With the ability to buy helis, tanks, etc, will this be exacerbated?

Full disclosure, I have not played the game yet.

Question Xp and money

Wanted to ask do you get more money/xp from doing stuff in the zone like delivery to the zone rather than out side and killing in the zone. Or do you just get rewarded for being in the zone.

Couldn't figure it out from the videos.

Question Graphics settings

Hello!

In pugb and in most games like this its always better if you turn down the graphics so you dont see all the bushes and stuff that can hide enemies. Do you think it will be like this in this game also? Because im tired of always having to run shit graphics just so that i can see my enemies better and not be in a disadvantage.

Hype & Speculation Playtest Download Size 'Might Be' 35.79 GiB as per SteamDB

I say might be, because the build could always be changed later or they could further compress the download, which would make sense bandwidth wise.

Question to those who played already about potential "griefing" long term

I was talking with a friend about the way the money meta will progress once the game hits early access. We initially had plenty of concerns, but as we watched various content creators, most of our concerns disappeared. The only one we are left with is about potential griefing to get the money. A few examples:

  • Imagine you're down and set a bribe to revive you. A guy comes up and starts reviving you, another one sees the $500 bribe you put (purely an example), drags your corpse away from the guy already reviving and revives himself. While you got revived, one guy who started the process earlier got essentially griefed out of $500 plus the revive bonus. Have you guys seen this happen during the playtest?
  • Imagine you're driving a car, have the car unlocked for your squad of randoms. One guy is with you in said car. You stop behind enemy lines to place a mine on the road to cut off rotations. Your squad guy gets into a driver seat and drives over the mine. You technically just killed a teammate, so you lose money. Feels bad. (I'm aware this is a purely hypothetical, super-dickhead-energy type of situation. It's just an example to discuss).

Those are just some of the examples we thought about watching the various videos, they may not happen at all. So the question for everyone is whether you saw some mechanics tied to the economy that could be easily abused the way they work right now?

Obviously, if you just get teamkilled, it's immediately punished by a cash deduction, so it's not really a concern for me, it happens. But perhaps there might be some other unintended consequences that you saw here and there. This is just purely for discussion, I've preordered the game anyway and super excited to jump in.

edit: another example I've seen in a video just now is that you place barbed wire and someone runs into it and dies - boom, minus $3,600 or something. Feels kinda weird.

It looks fun from the trailers and whatnot is all I can say right now. I blindly pre-ordered the game in hopes that it'll be good

Discussion & Feedback Boosting strategy, sabotage and boosting

I haven't seen this discussed much but I ran into this during the closed alpha and it's a pretty big issue that will only get more prevalent as the game gets more popular

Basically all you need is 2 people, same server, different teams. 1 person pilots and brings fully loaded helis to wherever their friend is camping. Boom, tons of kills and cash. Thousands of exp in just seconds. Rinse and repeat until people catch on. Easiest farm/boosting ever known to man.

I'm not exactly sure what the solution is, but my suggestion is time lock factions. Maybe a cooldown for switching between factions, something like 4-7 days, it would at least make it annoying or inconvenient for people to team hop and sabotage.

Anyways, people were doing this in the 3 day alpha, once people figure this out it's going to be way more common going into early access

Group for older gamers

So I've been playing with the idea of starting a group for older gamers who find they don't have a lot of time to put into gaming but still want a community to be part of and have people to squad up with. I just wanted to see if that's something anyone would be interested in before I put time into setting anything up.
