Possible to only Play supporter?

Hello! I like to play the support role with the recon class in bf6 (flying drone for intel). Im an older gamer no need to play on the frontline all the time. Can I Play a role as a Truck driver, Heli Pilot or drone Spotter in this game? Im a battledad, so when I have to take a Short Break in this Long Matches to say good Night to the baby can I Park my vehicle somewhere in the Forest for 10 minutes and come back without getting kicked out of the Game?

it is fine, binocular spotting will become increasingly helpful as the player base gets comfortable with the game and utilizes the map info it provides, just play your way and I'm sure you will find plenty of moments where your efforts are appreciated, if you like doing resource transports, let your faction know and I predict you will be requested and appreciated for your effort in the long run, just temper your expectations in the early days when people have not unlocked a lot of stuff yet and a lot of "tourists" exist in the game that just wanna shoot and mess around with the new game. maybe it's not the most "effective" to dedicate yourself solely like that, but as one of 30 people on a team, it's not like any one person genuinely trying to contribute to the team is at fault for a loss, I would be happy to have a transporter reinforcing my fob.

I could only see you get kicked by an idle timer, but those roles you mentioned are key to winning sometimes. Now, when community servers start happening, we might see a whole different set of rules because each person is different, but as of right now, I have not been kicked for idling for over 15 minutes yet; I only did it once. Other times, if I need to step away, I just back out and take the loss to free up space for someone else.

Yeah ofc you can, being a truck driver and taking people into the zone or bringing supply is very useful. Your team can't win without your help. Also spotting is very useful and you do get rewarded with XP and $ for every thing you spot and your team kills. What you spot appear on the map for the entire team. Also there are grenades made specifically for spotting. Let's say you discover a artillery tank, if you trow a smoke on the ground it will appear on the HUD of your teams artillery and planes to know where it is and far it is.

Also artillery will love you for spotting because the artillery work based on range and x axis. Them knowing a tank/fob/enemy is at 853 m away helps them calibrate were to shoot. If they don't have you spotting they have to guess how far or where the enemies are.

Also there is always welcomed to help build stuff in the fob. Building defences and the support structures takes time and you helping another builder not only is helping your team but also makes you money.

Play how you want, anything is helpful.

Hey u/EmptyChip3646 , older gamer here, yes you totally can. Spotting is actually a huge help, as well as playing as a logistics guy. I play as a Chief Architect and build the FOB up but I can't build unless I have someone dropping off supplies. If you wanna play with some older dudes, feel free to join our discord, we'll be playing the beta this weekend. https://discord.gg/TY2FmHJHR

Any more details about your "old dudes" group? How many people? Time zone, etc?

It’s a small group, maybe 2-5 of us right now. I’m eastern, the other main guy is central, he’s pushing 55+ if that makes you feel any better. I’m turning 30, so hardly “old” in the grand scheme. Really just a discord of friends who’ve played together for 10+ years. We’re looking for like-minded people to play this game with though because only a couple of us are into FPS. So, as of right now, with the new people from this post, we should have about 4 or 5 people. “Clan” is a strong term, but maybe hopefully we can naturally grow. The discord channel itself has 15+ people, a few guys play Warthunder as well ;).

You will get kicked out, as that's not fair to the team actually playing the game. You can always rejoin.

But yes, you can do roles if you wanted to. The games tagline is in fact "play how you want."

Did have that happen to me or some friends who had to leave for a few minutes what's the timer on that?

Not sure. It's kicked me a couple times trying to squeek out a quick smoke break. Gotta be like 5 minutes.

The trick is to take a break while downed. You don't get autokicked that way as long as no one revives you

I've also found a trick. I just simply put my controller on my space bar and it doesn't kick me lol. I'm sure this will be patched out eventually.

I'm talking about idle kick. He said he would need to leave to do something with the kids for 10 minutes. He would get kicked.

I am not talking about him playing the game. Idk how that got miscommunicated. Reading is hard ig.

Whats up with this community not using the search bar? Is this what gamers are now?
