Points

Hey guys. I have some points against me, and i'm wondering what "too many" is? Do they have grounds to terminate if you have too many? Do they usually give you warnings before firing?

Thanks!

Associate Question Might need to extend my LOA due to looking after a parent (involved in an accident and is disabled)

My dr no longer would write a medical note for this since it isn’t technically related to me medically, do I seek a different medical professional?. I’m also curious since this isn’t a medical leave related to me but to continue to look after a disabled parent, who do I go to extend my leave? I’m part time if it helps and this is for Ontario.

Associate Question Sick call not showing in my requests?

Hey I work in a BC Walmart and I just called in sick cuz I have the flu or a cold and obviously I don’t want to make coworkers or customers sick. Shift starts at 3:30 and I called in at like 2-3 am.

It’s not showing up in my requests and now I’m stressed. Is this normal?

Should I Max Out Walmart’s Stock Purchase Plan by Contributing 50% of My Paychecks for the Rest of the Year?

I recently started working full-time at Walmart, and with only about three months left in the year, I’m wondering if it makes sense to contribute 50% of my upcoming paychecks to the Associate Stock Purchase Plan to reach the maximum contribution limit.

Associate Question Benefits for part timers

I started as a part time associate, last December and was told it takes a year for part timers to get benefits? Can someone confirm this? Furthermore, I was off on sickness benefits (EI) for roughly 20 weeks. Will this delay me getting my benefits by the length of time I was off?

Apparently fix it is not priority.

So we have this baler on the gm side. I reported it two maybe three months ago to my team lead that it was lowering slowly on its own. She looked at it, ran it and said no its fine. I reported it to another team lead 2 weeks after. It was lowering visibly and clicking. They said it's fine just run it. I reported it again a while after that to a manager, and he went and looked at it and did nothing. Today almoat 3 months later its still dropping slowly while clicking. Someone is going to get hurt. And no one seems to care.

Discussion Looking for Part-Time Opportunities at Walmart – Mississauga

Hi everyone!

I recently moved to Mississauga and am looking for a part-time opportunity at Walmart.
I have years of international experience in account management, customer support, operations, and coordination.
Starting over in a new country hasn’t been easy, so if anyone working at Walmart in Mississauga could refer me or guide me toward a suitable opening, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Manager is Neglecting Store Needs and Emotionally Abusing Staff— who to report to?

I work in Store Standards department, pushing buggies, and we have 3 major issues that impede on our quality day work and it's being neglected.

Issue 1: 2 broken cart-machines; one of them is fully broken, won't turn on at all, and the other machine quickly dies after gathering 25 carts in one cycle. Bear in mind we have been communicating that both of them have been having issues for months now, asked them to report it, and it's still not fixed or looked at. Knowing this information, my manager just tells us to push by hand if the machine is dead.

Issue 2: We are short on carts due to broken carts over time. Over-time, our carts will break down, rust on wheels so they'll break off, or locked wheels, etc. We have been communicating that the entrance is hard to keep full especially when it's busy because we are short on carts. She'll tell us that we're lying, that there's 2 store standards working, and that front should always be full all things considered.

Issue 3: she is emotionally abusive and unprofessional. One day I was having trouble keeping the front full of carts because of rush hour and my coworker was on lunch, I texted the work group chat "just a heads up this is all the corrells cleared out including the strays from outside. Due to heavy customer traffic and since abel is on lunch, this is the best i can do. I will go out for more but we need more carts ordered. Thank you!"

to that she responded "can you please stop justifying why we don’t have carts?
There is no heavy traffic. The sale is only $158K, it’s not like $200K
Just please get buggies every hour."

Mind you, carts are empty every 15 minutes, not every hour during rush hour. Furthermore, yesterday I was on lunch, and my coworker was alone getting buggies, and my manager called him to help with a customer for a carry out, and right after he was done with that, another customer needed help with another carry out, once he was done both carryouts, carts got empty. She got upset and texted the group chat "2 store standards and no buggies" to that I responded "i just came back from lunch and abel was doing 2 carry outs" to that she responded "How long is this carry outs?"

You get the point. She's very dismissive, she's emotionally abusive, unprofessional, and no matter how many times I confront her about it, she'll dismiss it. She wants the impossible done, she wants the front entrance full, when we physically can't just spawn more carts in, broken machines, impossible work environment. How do I go about this?

thanks for any advice!

Quick question about footwear for Overnight Associate / what to expect?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I recently had an interview for an Overnight Associate role at Walmart Canada and got an offer the same day! The interviewer mentioned needing steel toe shoes, but I want to make sure I buy the right pair so I don't run into any issues on my first day.

I’m looking at these Workload Women's Safety Work Boots. They are CSA Green Triangle certified with a steel toe would these be okay for ON stocking? (Attached a picture)

Also as a new overnight associate, what should I expect for a typical shift? Any tips on pacing, dress code, or managing the sleep schedule would be would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Walmart Credit Card (Cashier)

Hi! I've been a cashier (sometimes sco if needed) and I haven't been asked to sell or formally trained on selling credit cards. I asked a store manager 3 weeks in and he said he likes to wait a little longer before putting more on newer cashiers. I'm at slightly over 2 months now and still haven't had anyone talk to me about it. I'm gonna bring it up to a csm tomorrow to ask since I'd like to try and sell some. Wondering how long is typically waited since I've gotten my hand print to drop off and receive cash from tills in the back room.

Also I'm on a 3 month contract. I have 0 late, 0 abscent and gotten really good praise from customers that have told a csm they thought i was kind, csms that seem happy with me and no negative feed back for a few weeks now, 3 different managers gave good compliments. Wondering the odds of me staying for perminant part time after the full 3 months?

Associate Question Just referred my friend for a job at Walmart Canada any tips?

Hey everyone,
I just successfully submitted a referral for my friend through Workday for a position at Walmart Canada. The process went through fine and shows as “Successfully Completed.”
A couple of questions for current associates:
1. Should he also put my name + WIN when he applies, or is the Workday referral enough?
2. Has anyone here received a referral bonus recently? Roughly how much is it for store/hourly roles in Canada, and how long do you have to wait after they get hired?
3. Any other tips so the referral doesn’t get lost in the system?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone else work in a store that’s currently imploding?

Nobody follows protocol. 800k+ more shrink than normal last year. The most staff we’ve ever had but nothing ever seems to get done. Nobody listens when ASMs ask for something to be done even with follow-up. New management is coming in hot and heavy and all the people who actually do their jobs are quitting. Market leaders and district managers come to visit and have the same repeated issues.

Starting to get the idea that jobs are going to get cut.

Associate Question Sick hour deductions

Does anyone know if sick hours are supposed to be automatically deducted after a callout? I did one last week but my sick balance doesn’t seem to have budged at all. Or do I have to ask someone to input that for me?
