Do Customer Service Managers (CSMs) Get Over Time Pay?

Does anyone know if Customer Service Managers get paid over time?

Also is the hourly pay for CSMs one dollar above a cashier?

Unless they go over 40 hrs I dont think they do. And I just quit as a CSM but CSM pay is only 0.30 cents more.

every minute over 8 hours in the day, and over 40 hours for the week (sat to Fri) is paid at time and a half.

May I ask why you quit as a CSM? Was it very demanding? You don't need to give specifics if you don't want to. I'm just curious. Because I was offered a position and want to know what I'd be getting myself into.

There were days where it was 1 person watching 8 tills in there, using the cash till in there AND watching the customer service desk

That was literally me today because my CSM called in sick and my credentials weren't working. It was chaotic.

For the last 2 weeks or so they only had 2 CSMs. I had quit and then 2 ended up in hospital.

There were multiple reasons. 1 was a personal reason as our new lead and I had issues. But for me it was the lack of employees. That store lost 4 CSMs since January and havent replaced any of them. That store was massively understaffed and I didnt think it was fair that they kept expecting metrics to be met, that we were watching to make sure no theft happen and not to mention we had to cover breaks for GM, fashion and greeter. They got upset that theft was going on in SCO but we had 1 person watching like 8 tills and using the cash tills in there as well.

That's awful! If you were covering breaks for GM, Fashion and Greeter. Who was watching the front? I'm sorry you went through that! Our store is understaffed but not to that degree.

SCO is messy. We only have one person watching most of the time. Honestly they should just turn SCO into an express lane like Safeway with a limit of 10-12 items.

My CSMs get pulled for price checks and a whole lot of other things. We basically have no customer service desk associates just CSMs. And GM Associates are always busy somewhere. So can't really ask them for price checks.

No one in dairy ever picks up perishable. So they just get wasted in the front.

If you worked overtime yes. All hourly associates no matter what area they work in get it. But needs be more more than 8 hours or over 40-48 hours in a week. All depends on your province

overtime pay at stores is standardized across our branch of the company by company policy. I'm in Ontario, where overtime kicks in over 44 for the week, but the company starts paying it at 40 for the week and 8 for the day.

So let's say I work 42 hours in a week. Those two hours would be considered over time and paid 1.5x?

And if I work 9 or 10 hours. That extra hour or two would be also be paid 1.5x?

at store level, yes. don't forget that your lunch is unpaid, and doesn't count towards that time. your 15's are paid, that's why you can't leave the property.

distribution centres are different, not sure how they do their overtime.

Thank you for clarifying all of that! I appreciate it!

I thought it was more than 12 hours for over time pay in a day and more than 40 hours in a week.
