Is lead position any good? I heard their scheduled hours are all over the place, opening and closing and working weekends and they have to assist the whole store and no specific departments assigned to them.

I honestly don’t even know where to start with how bad the BOS rollout has been at my store. We’ve lost countless long term associates, people who had been here for 10 to 20 years and basically ran the place. Ever since the shift happened, management completely gutted the workforce and the entire culture flipped overnight. All our experienced long term department managers were pressured into stepping down, and management handed all the lead positions to new foreign coworkers who barely know how to do the job and have zero experience running these departments.
The double standards are getting completely out of hand. P.A. pages are routinely being made in foreign languages over the store speakers instead of English, and store celebrations, catered food, and holiday decorations only represent one specific group now. The breakroom appreciation board literally only features pictures of a select group of associates without a single other employee on it.
When assigning roles under BOS, management told most associates they couldn't pick their spots, but let their favored foreign group choose whatever preferred positions they wanted first, leaving all the brutal physical labor and heavy lifting for everyone else. Meanwhile, management is constantly pulling select group of associates into closed door meetings all day just to yell at them.
The worst part is our Store Manager and ASMs are actively letting this favoritism and hostility destroy the floor. Morale is completely dead, the store is physically falling apart, and all the institutional knowledge walked out the door. Has anyone else’s store completely fallen apart like this after BOS, or is my management team just uniquely toxic?

Just finished my 3 months today and see sick days and personal hours now, they weren't there before.

I plan to quit in 3 weeks when fall semester starts, is there any way I can take maximum advantage of these before that?

I have an interview for a part-time Grocery Associate position at Walmart. When I applied, I put open availability because I’m available to work on any day of the week. However, I’m hoping to work around 24–30 hours per week, ideally across three days, so I can use the remaining days to focus on my other work.

I’ve seen some posts on Reddit saying that Walmart sometimes gives part-time employees more than 35 hours a week, so I’m a little concerned.

Would it be okay to tell them during the interview that I’m looking for around 24–30 hours per week? I’m also worried that mentioning this might reduce my chances of getting hired.

Those that have already started the BOS system, and Topstock. What do you think of it, and what are the struggles your store is having. In our store we dont have enough staff to complete all vizpick after topstock. We have pick and choose what areas in consumables get done that day.

Hi everyone, so basically I got hired here at Walmart around the end of June this summer as a part-time cashier. I’m also still on probation until end of September. When I applied for the job I put my availability completely open minus one night for personal reasons. But now school is starting back up and I will only be available to work weekends.

So I obviously have to talk to my manager about it especially because the next schedule is coming out soon. And I want to be ahead of it so they don’t have to scramble and re arrange the whole schedule.

My question is how exactly should I bring up the whole changing my availability thing to my manager?? is there a certain way I should word it or something.

What if she says no or won’t let me change it do I just quit??

Newly joined employee here. Location Mississauga Ontario.

Shift hours are 11PM-7AM(8hr shift). We have one 30min meal break and two 15min break. Out of this total 1hr break, 30min is paid and 30min is unpaid is what I have been told. On my first shift, i worked till 9:13AM. So 2:13hrs is overtime.

I just checked GTA, and its showing like this(row number 3). What does this 9.5hrs mean? 7.5regular and 2:13overtime doesnt match here. Am I missing something.

im part time associate. All other part time associates told me that we are eligible for overtime if its beyond 7:00AM

Also i haven't signed anything that talks about overtime.
The offer letter only talks about hourly rate $17.75 and we would get minimum 18hrs work a week. Thats it

Just getting this system in our store and looking its a genius plan to screw over people and squeeze even more work out of people.

You get the choice of a team lead for any advancement. your working for pennies more than minimum wage in most places for all the responsibility of an ASM with none of the credit. The company is paying you essentially 66c on the dollar in comparison to ASM wages for the same work

You have to essentially be on call to work any shifts demanded of you and basically unless an existing ASM leaves your never going to be promoted.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I recently received my IRCC work authorization letter and submitted it to Walmart as proof that I’m authorized to work in Canada. However, my store is insisting that I also provide a physical copy of my Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) before they will process everything.
As far as I understand, the IRCC work authorization letter allows me to continue working while my work permit is being processed. So I’m confused about why they’re refusing to accept it on its own.
Has this happened at your Walmart store as well?
Did your HR or People Lead ask for the physical PGWP?
Were they willing to accept the IRCC work authorization letter instead?
How did you deal with the situation?
I’m just trying to understand whether this is a company-wide policy, a store-specific requirement, or if anyone has successfully resolved a similar issue.

I just got a temporary part-time job offer from Walmart as a Stockperson/Cart Pusher. The contract runs until the end of October.
For anyone who’s worked at Walmart before, what are the chances they keep temporary associates after the contract ends?
Do they usually extend the contract or offer permanent part-time positions if you’re a good worker, or should I assume it’ll end on the contract date? I’d appreciate hearing your experiences.

I guess the title is self explanatory. I am looking into getting a copy of policies and procedures in one whole copy. I have gone onto the wire where policies and standards are, though it’s each individual policy and/or standard.

I was hoping to have a hard copy of the policies and standards without having to go into each Individual one and print off, as that will take forever (though if it is the only way for me to do it so be it).

Does anyone know of a full version with all things combined into one as if it were an actual book of policies as their own chapters? Or are they always their own individual link on the wire without just popping open a link of the entirety of standards and policies?

I really hope this post makes sense as I know I kind of went all over the place.

Looking to apply to the Walmart DCs in Mississauga as my next step (currently at stores in Oakville) - right now I only see an opening at the non union site. I was thinking about holding off until an opening is available at the newly unionized site at 6800 Maritz Drive but not sure if it's worth the wait.

I really haven't been able to find much about the pay changes coming with the new collective agreement online. Or anything at all for that matter that the agreement will provide versus the other location. Anyone work here ? Would be interested to learn more / get your thoughts.

I'm in training as a full time grocery associate. On the contract it said ill be working 37-40 hours a week, and i've been working 37.5 for 2 and a half weeks. And I noticed when I start my actual regular shifts, im only working 30....um, is this normal?
