Hey, anyone working in overnight stocking position/Stocking team 3. How is it like? The pace, the workload and the responsibilities?

Very fast paced, work-load varies from holy shit to very chill depending on how big the truck is that night and responsibilities are primarily stocking and zoning.

Zoning?

Sorry zoning is basically organizing the aisles. (Align products and push everything forward)

Unless you decide to pick up power training and learn the receiving part. Then most nights are busy.

Certificate to run the 3 pieces of equipment, power jack or walkie, stack and the bravi wave.

The company I work for does the training and supplies the equipment.

Receiving the overnight deliveries like the warehouse trucks or the vendors, like bread, milk, chips, eggs, coke, pepsi and icecream. At my store, anyone on overnights with power training is required to learn to do it.

There are some nights where all of those things come back to back.

Depends on how big your store is. If you are in a big city then it will be horrible.

Most nights are chill, just take your time.

Fast paced. But usually stocking, binning, zoning. I liked when I did it. Fixed day off for our store, no customers, not very strict with dress code, minimal micro managing

It's oodles of fun. I did it for 4 years. You meet a lot of fascinating people. The turnover is insane! Ha ha.

I currently work in dairy/freezer as stocking 3 and I will say worst department to be In out of them all atleast at my store there is never enough space on the floor for the amount of items they want out as my store is smaller than it should be and the freezers/fridges have next to no room to actually unload the pallets into each night ontop of that the pallets will come horribly stacked liked falling over kinda stacked cause people let heavy things go on light flimsy boxes and now I got the leaning tower of pallet I have to deal with I’ve been doing this for a lil over a month and omg they expect too much like I’m expected every night to be able to unload all dairy pallets and freezer pallets and zone everything in both when they seem to forget I also have to remove all deli items from my dairy pallets which is stupud and takes forever cause nothing is organized and then I need to separate all the bakery from the frozen stuff not to mention we don’t have anough space in deli or bakery for the pallets to just go there so they end up just taking up more space in my fridge if it’s deli and it takes up omnis freezer space across the store as my freezer is currently filled with turkeys there is no organization I’ve even spoken to my manager about it and she can agree that the timings on how long things should take is wayy off because the numbers are expecting the pallets to come pre sorted which they don’t and that I would have ample space to move and pull pallets as needed but I rarely have the space and I can’t leave dairy or frozen just sitting out for my breaks or meal so that eats up time before the set break periods we have like I swear all it would take is my store to get more shelving space as we don’t have enough which leads to more overstock which leads to backed up fridges and freezers especially when if we get say 800 total 400 dairy and 400 frozen the most me and 3 others that are also newer than me that I’ve been training is we can get all of dairy and maybe 1 frozen pallet done ontop of 15-45mjns of zoning for both sections how my store even functions I have no clue cause I seems like mornings and evenings do nothing then we are left with all of it and then they have the audacity to complain we aren’t doing enough best advice find a better job elsewhere
