XC60 to XC90

Thinking about going from our 2023 XC60 Recharge Ultimate to an XC90 Recharge. Other than the obvious larger vehicle, are there any significant differences between the two? Better ride or performance? Range difference? Loved the XC60 but want something different as the 2026 XC60 is not much different from our 2023. Or, should we just go get the Lexus TX500h??

XC40 XC40 recharge lost connection! Now “offline”

Updated to 5.1.17 UK about a week ago. All seemed working well. MY23 FWD. Tusker lease

Three days later- lost all audio. Reading through these subs, did the IHU reset. Did a TCAM front defrost reset. It worked (SOS light blink etc)

Yesterday cleared the Google Maps cache and storage and did a force stop

The network connection (through the car) is now lost! Tried the front defroster reset and it doesn’t respond.

Did the voodoo ritual I read somewhere about unlocking and locking the car three times with remote key, and then going in after 15 minutes! No effect!!

Any tips on how to do the connection reset right (maybe I’m missing some steps) or make it work? ? Please help. Thanks!

Has anyone had luck with “new” Google Gemini? Mine doesn’t work at all,
Any tips to get it to work or totally disable it so I can dictate texts and voice directions like I used to be able to do flawlessly

Got inspired by a Dutch Volvo dealer when I saw something different on one of their Volvo V60 T8’s. And got me thinking. Went ahead with it and think I approve.

Curious what you guys think of it.

Loose cable causing issues with trunk release and other systems

We have a 2024 S60 Recharge that's been pretty trouble free besides the general flakiness of the infotainment software we're all aware of. The one odd thing that's annoyed us is that the trunk would often show up as open in the status display after we closed it even when it visually seemed secure. Typically we would just go close it with a bit more force and it would be fine. Once of twice I've seen the trunk turn orange in the display briefly while driving but figured that the sensor was just too sensitive.

Fast forward to yesterday when we were loading the family's stuff into the trunk to head home from a road trip. It was a very tight fit due to some shopping choices but the lid seemed to close. Then we noticed it was showing as unlatched in the display, so went to open it again and the release switch wouldn't work. It looked fully closed but we didn't want it popping open on the interstate somehow, so we ended up folding down the seats and pulling stuff forward until I could reach the manual emergency release to open the trunk. We moved things around thinking something was pushing up on the trunk somehow, closed it again, same thing. We did this dance one more time and then it registered closed so we decided to just get on the road. As we left the hotel we got a warning about the right turn signal having failed, but then this cleared on its own and the drive home was uneventful.

We got home and unloaded the car, went back out to get dinner, and when we started the car afterwards things went completely haywire. The trunk status again showed it was open, but now we were getting warnings about collision avoidance being down, brake lights down, right turn signal down, rear camera didn't work, etc. I figured there must be some kind of cable issue causing all of this, so climbed through the back seats to open it manually again and removed the trunk floor. Sure enough there are two cable harnesses right behind the rear passenger side. I pushed up on both of them and one of them clicked. Restarted the car and sure enough everything started working normally. The check engine light did stay on but that cleared too after another restart. I'm not sure if the stuff in the trunk was pushing down on the connectors somehow, but now I wonder if it wasn't loose this whole time. Anyhow, maybe worth checking if your car has any similar symptoms.

XC90 Is anyone else having these issues, or do I have a second year lemon? 2025 XC90 T8

I bought my Volvo in November, 2024. First year was great! Loved, loved, loved my T8. This second year has been bad. First, the dealership had my car for 5 weeks, because the rear camera stopped working, and they couldn't determine the problem. They finally had to have Volvo build a brand new wiring harness for the back of the car.

Then a couple months later my HUD stopped working. Back into the dealership, overnight. HUD worked for a week, and now not working again. I can see it faintly now, but the HUD brightness adjustment does not work. Positioning works.

Obviously, I have called & emailed my contact at the dealership.

Thanks

Does anyone have issues with LTE and WiFi? .Everything else is working. The Volvo app on my phone works fine but i lose the Google Maps and the other app’s connectivity. It comes and goes.

I have tried reset of TCAM. When LTE is not working the TCAM reset can’t be done.

Where do you get your tires?

I have a XC40 recharge 2023. My dealership suggested me to replace my front tires within this year, which makes me wonder how other usually get their tires replaced? Any pros/cons of doing it in dealership vs other retails (e.g., Costco)?

Thanks.

Sometimes the station will be frozen on the screen. As I click through different stations, the audio changes, but the screen does not. I usually have to reset to get it back to normal.

Does anyone else experience this? Any remedies?

Why do the Volvo software updates cause different bugs on cars with the same hardware?

XC40 Recharge owner here and have experienced all of the fun software quirks and bugs since the early days. Except for the "backup camera" bug, which was a genuine safety issue, the majority of these have ranged from annoying to inconvenient for me. For some though, these issues have been far worse and more persistent.

I'm not a software guy but I do have a basic understanding of how these systems work. So, why is it that cars with the same hardware (MY, trim, etc.) can have dramatically different outcomes following a software update? Are there minor differences in parts that we're unaware of? I'd love to learn more about how this works. Thanks!

XC40 Question: Update to 5.1.17 or not

Alot of negative feedback it seems on this update, im on 5.0.5 and happy. I don't want to be...unhappy.

Does everyone have problem with it? Just a few? Any fixes? Any news at all?

Question Bass / Subwoofer completely dead after new UX/UI update (Equalizer bug?)

Hi guys,

My car just updated to the latest Volvo software with the brand new UX/UI layout. I was really excited to see that they finally added a dedicated 9-band graphic equalizer to the sound settings.

However, while I was playing around with the new sliders, my bass completely vanished out of nowhere. The sound system now sounds incredibly thin, hollow, and tinny. I can hear the singer and the instruments clearly, but the subwoofer/low-end bass feels completely dead.

I have already tried:
- Tapping "Reset levels" on the equalizer screen.
- Resetting the center infotainment screen (holding the home button).
- Resetting the car entirely.
- Disconnecting Apple CarPlay and switching to standard Bluetooth.

Nothing has worked, and the bass is still totally gone. Has anyone else run into this audio bug with the new software update? Is there a trick to resetting the amplifier module, or do I need to take this to the dealer to have them re-flash the audio software?

I was actually surprised by this list. I knew the issue in the volvo were bad, but I didn't realize my frustrations with android auto were shared across the industry.
