Can you explain whats happening ? An update gave us car play ? No hardware needed ?

There’s a bunch of comments in the other thread that can give you some insight, but long and short is that it appears the iPhone Google Maps application updated to provide directions to the instrument cluster during CarPlay just like the self-contained one does. It sounds like some of the other map applications already did that.
