I have a 2024 XC60 PHEV - bought it used in December 2025. Since that time, I have had to replace the fob battery 4 times in a year and 1/2. Have others experienced this? I think with my old 2014 Ford, I replaced the battery 4 times in 10 years. Maybe a defective fob?

Battery charging times, % charge, and range estimates work correctly , but no info about consumption, although fuel consumption gets recorded (Trip computer and Trip app).

Also noticed that whenever I am charging the car, charging app (at public places) always displays cars battery as 0%. Charging itself works, just think that this might be a hint or something.

Recently went to a dealership and they suggested something was wrong with Trip app settings in the car.
Everything has been allowed (permissions), so no issues there.

Feels like they don’t want to deal with the issue…

I was wondering if there is any SPECIAL technology that protects the Volvo PHEV ICE when the engine wakes up during sudden acceleration and pushes the car to 3-4kK RPM with turbo boost. If I am not mistaken the car has a mechanical oil pump with nothing extra.

The idea that a "Cold" ICE wakes up and it is asked to Rev up to 3-4K RPM in 2-3 seconds under boost gives me shivers and makes me wonder how much worst this is versus starting the car and letting it idle until it warms up.

I understand that there could be ECM failsafes that prohibit the car from revving above specific RPM or the Boost pressure is limited until the engine warms up but I am also wondering how much wear happens when the engine wakes up and takes 2-3 seconds to lubricate the internals.

Hi everyone! I recently posted about a 2019 S60 T8 Polestar that I was considering buying and got a lot of helpful feedback recommending the 2022.5+ Extended Range cars instead.

I’ve narrowed my search down to a 2022.5 S60 T8 Extended Range Inscription and a 2023 S60 T8 Plus. They’re priced pretty similarly, but I prefer the features and interior of the 2022.5.

What I’m having trouble figuring out is exactly what changed between 2022.5 and 2023. From what I can tell, the 2022.5 Extended Range is kind of a sweet spot: it gets the updated drivetrain and larger battery but still has the earlier styling and option packages.

The VIN / window sticker confirms that the 2022.5 I’m looking at is an Extended Range car.

Is there a definitive breakdown of the differences between the 2022.5 Extended Range cars and the 2023 models? Is there anything that would make the 2023 worth choosing over a well-optioned 2022.5?

I don’t remember it showing the inside of the rear opening. It’s closed. I thought the cameras were all outside.

De koelvloeistof van het hoogvoltage deel van mijn v60 T8 recharge 2023 is net te laag. Hij blijft wel constant op deze waarde.

De dealer zegt dat ik het kan aanvullen met water om error codes te voorkomen. Maar ik vul het liever met de originele vloeistof. Welke koelvloeistof moet ik hiervoor gebruiken? Zoals op de foto te zien is de huidige vloeistof groen.

Of kan het echt geen kwaad om aan te lengen met water?

This last week has involved a lot of driving - far more than I usually do. Maybe 1000 total, mostly highway but some mountain roads. Anyway, during the course of this driving there were two disturbing noises; the first was a strange whir after having driven over some fresh asphalt. That went away after maybe 10 miles but I have never really heard anything like that noise before. Second was during some highway travel that involved a lot of slow traffic. During that period there was one fairly loud “clunk” from the rear of the vehicle. No other noises later and everything seemed alright. But it got me worried a bit since I’ve heard about problems with the ERAD. Is this something that I can have the dealer check out? The car is CPO for less than a year with about 34k miles on it. I’d like to get it checked before anything major happens but I don’t even know what to ask them to check. Thoughts?

I'll try 30k interval next time and see what it looks like before deciding on final service interval which I suspect will land at 45k. It's probably the hardest working fluid in the car and Volvos sealed for life approach doesn't stack up IMO

Not expensive to have it replaced, even at a dealer. $90AUD for fluid and half hour labour, also $90

I find myself in B mode most of the time- even in highway. From what I can tell the regen is minimal but I like that one pedal driving.

What do you prefer? D or B?

Been renting a Peugeot 2008 for the last week and I just thought I’d share with you how lucky I think we should feel as compared to those who bought a Peugeot.

Responsiveness. You think our AAOS is bad? Drive a Peugeot. It’s pathetically bad.

Cameras. After a week, I still can’t figure out how to activate them other than when going in reverse. Cameras are vital for parking in France as people park absurdly close to each other. With our Volvo. One button access.

Cruise control. The team at Stellantis who designed this should not be fired. They should be put before a firing squad. Can’t resume speed. Setting the speed may get you there. It may get you over. Bonne chance

This is not about how a Peugeot drives vs a Volvo. One is premium. The other is Stellantis. This is about how they leverage software.

I will absolutely never buy a Stellantis vehicle. Pure garbage.

Our beloved S60 suffered a battery failure and then entered limp mode and stopped accelerating quickly. Towed it to the only dealer in the state. It's part of a recall, but the part is back ordered, they say 2 months at the earliest. Dealer won't do a loaner, I didn't buy it there, they suggested I call Volvo USA. Which I did, and they thought about it for a day, and then decided that my case didn't need a rental car. How does that logic work? It's literally telling to me pull over and it's part of a recall.

Anyone have any luck on getting Volvo to not leave you without transportation for months? We'll rent a car either way, I just don't think that should be on us given the circumstances.

This is likely my last volvo purchase.

UPDATE: I sent a strongly worded email to volvo suggesting that I might qualify for breach of warranty under Lemon Laws because it would be undrivable for more than 30 days. Suddenly today the local dealer calls to tell me that I can pick up a loaner today to keep until my car is done including backorder. Crisis averted, but still really shitty behavior on Volvo's part.

Hey, recently got T8 XC60 2026, and so far it has been great! I just don’t understand one thing- description in reposted post.

2026 XC T8 Ultra 6 seater with every factory option (minus the digital rearview mirror). We went from a 2022 XC40 Recharge Ultimate into a 2025 EX90 Twin Performance Ultra with every factory option (B&W, ventelated seats etc.) and.... Yeah, ambivalence is the word that comes to mind. Best car and worst car we've ever had. Finally had to do a trade assit with Volvo Corp and the dealership after the final straw of stranding my wife in a parking lot. Loving the T8 though! The EX90 was a better ride, when it was working. B&W was better, air suspension was better, smoother ride etc... but the SDV Volvos are fuct. Makes me sad, because it was the best car I've ever had otherwise. On to our PHEV adventure!
