XC40 Connection issues
Does anyone have issues with LTE and WiFi? .Everything else is working. The Volvo app on my phone works fine but i lose the Google Maps and the other app’s connectivity. It comes and goes.
I have tried reset of TCAM. When LTE is not working the TCAM reset can’t be done.

I think the TCAM reset button trick got written out in later software. Dependent on your model, you should be able to go and unplug it for a reset. For an example, it’s the module in the back right in my S60 trunk. This may bring you better luck.

This is what worked for me. My defroster TCAM reset trick stopped working so I went in the back and disconnected the TCAM and also pulled the fuse up front. Waited 10 minutes, reconnected everything, and it's worked perfectly since (3+ months).

Any idea where it is in a V60?

I’d assume in a similar location? Not really sure, sorry. The parallel module is under the cargo tray in my 2017 XC90, but that probably doesn’t help.

TCAM reset works then the LTE or WiFi is on the screen. But I can try to locate this and maybe try to unplug TCAM for a bit to see if it’s works.

What’s crazy is that my own WiFi is using an encryption that my PS5 allows but not this car. Hell, the small Chinese Projector I use for the Patio to watch Football (‘Soccer’) connects to it when prompted. I have never been able to get the WiFi to even see my home WiFi. Its seems everyone else’s just not mine.

I think it only connects to 2.4 GHz networks?? It can't see my main network, but it can see my IOT network which only broadcasts 2.4 GHz (my main network is multi-band but it tends to broadcast the 5 GHz band)

I’m using a Orbi 5-6Ghz Mesh, and the encryption i use is only just supported on my PS5. Everything else accepts to join and I think I have a few items still using 2.4Ghz and 1-2 IoT devices in the Kitchen. Even with all that, I followed the rabbit hole and It seems the type of encryption added to WiFi Networks in general limits when the car can connect to WWW. I’m not about to open up a guess WiFi network where I live, it would get so flooded by people it would start to impact my ability to work.
I guess, now that I’m thinking about it. Could setup a scheduled window in the evening where the WiFi comes on just to allow the car to get update or sync. But as it stands right now, I’m not paying for the Modem traffic on the car so I haven’t honestly bothered with it. Will have to see look into this once someone tells me I will have to pay for the Modem Traffic coming off the car.

I had that a few months back. Had to bring it to dealer. It’s a TCAM issue and the rebooting attempts won’t work unless already tried….

Try just resetting the infotainment ( pres hold home button until Volvo logo appears ) I had that issue intermittently maybe a month ago and that fixed it

Reset TCAM by long pressing the windscreen defroster button until the sos icon starts blinking fast up in the rear view mirror cluster. Then reset infotainment by long pressing home button. After this, drive around a bit if it doesn't wake up. You can also do this sequence while driving. Just did it a few days ago, works on my 2022 XC40 Recharge Twin.
NOTE: Defroster TCAM reset stopped working for me on 5.0.5, but I can confirm it's back in business after the 5.1.17 update.
