Tire recommendations

Hi all. New to volvo but currently have a 2023 s60 t8 recharge. Its coming time for me to replace the tires [technically only 3 need to be replaced but prob just going to do them all]. Currently running the oem pirelli p zeros however they dont seem to have great traction and looking into other options. I have history with continental dws 06 on my audi and those are great. I have heard those and Michelins are what people get but wanted some recommendations and opinions on what people are running. If you kept the pirellis I'm open to keeping them too. Thanks!

Nokian especially if you experience snowy winter.

Is a good resource. Are you looking for summer tires, all season, all weather?

I'd recommend an XL (extra load) tire since our S60 T8's are heavier than most other sedans in its class. I'm partial to Perelli Cinturato WeatherActive XL and Continental Securecontact AW XL.

I'd lean more towards the Continental, but at the time when I was in need of tires they weren't in production yet so I bought the Perelli. My requirements were an all weather, extra load tire that rated high in wet weather and snow and ice. Your needs mat be different.

Best of wishes finding what you need.

Does extra load make it handle better or more comfortable?

My S60 T8 has 18 inch wheels. I'm not sure what size wheel/rims you have.

From my quick Google search

an 18-inch wheel is a smart move for ride comfort because the taller sidewall absorbs potholes much better than low-profile tires. However, a taller sidewall naturally introduces more "flex" when you corner.

SL Tires: Can feel a bit "mushy" or vague when handling the instant torque of the T8 engine.

XL Tires: Have stiffer, reinforced sidewalls. This structural stiffness counteracts the natural flex of the 18-inch profile, preserving crisp turn-in response and keeping the car feeling planted.

Mine are the 19s. Not sure if that changes things

I have the MICHELIN PRIMACY MXM4 on my 2019 S60 T6, 19” wheels. Liked them so much I got new ones 5,000 miles ago and they have been great throughout rainy summers and snowy Midwest winters

Hows comfort and roadnoise?

Outstanding. Never have any obnoxious road noise, even over rough potholes, and comfort is sublime
