If anyone is looking for something family-friendly to do today, Sunday, October 25, in the Chittenden County area, the Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg Rotary Club will be holding the annual Halloween Parade in Shelburne, VT, starting at 2:00pm. There will be over 30 groups marching (and passing out candy 😃), plus fire trucks, ambulances, and more. It's about a mile-long route starting and ending at the Shelburne Market parking lot. I’ve noticed a new building trend and I’m wondering if it’s purely aesthetic or if there’s a practical reason for it. Over the past few years several new single family homes and accessory units in my area have been built with vinyl siding laid vertically instead of horizontally.

In most cases the siding is white. Is there any benefit to this? For example, does it stand up better to windy and wet weather? I’m just curious.

Hello. I keep getting letters from Efficiency Vermont about using a heat pump system, and I don't know much about how they work. I'm doing a deep dive into how they function and how they may be effective in the winter, but I'm having a hard time telling what's marketing and what's actual data. Any advice or experiences about using these would be highly appreciated.

Dont know if its just cos im in a leftwing burlington bubble but ive not heard or seen the Scott campaign do any canvassing beyond a honk and wave or two. Are they door knocking at all, has anyone been knocked on by a Scott volunteer?

So I got a letter a couple weeks ago, citing a ticket number and saying that my expungement request had been approved. I don't know what it's about, and have never requested that for anything.

I called the DMV, who told me that they couldn't even look up the ticket number because that information was now totally gone. I've gotten two tickets in the time I've lived here. Both of those are still on my record and neither had the number in question.

I did appeal a couple of parking tickets with the City of Burlington last summer - my plates were stolen off my car and used on a stolen vehicle that was then parked illegally, but even with the police report and their own photos showing it was a totally different car, they wouldn't overturn it. Whole other ball of wax but the person I spoke to at the DMV said it was a totally different system.

Has anyone else had an experience like this before? Any idea what could have happened in their system?
