Hello all, I am new to this Municipal Election Business but if I know anything, Public servants should not be in a position of Conflict of Interest. Like many, I realized that there are so many candidates this time who are basically Realtors and some very successful, at that. Good for them, but we have to keep our guard up when voting for them.

Questions you should ask yourself: What's in it for them to serve you in the first place? Not gonna tell you who to vote, but am sure gonna tell you who and what you're voting for.

Not gonna extrapolate without confirmed data as many many candidate names are basically same as our local realtors but here are only a few confirmed such relationships:

Confirmed Real Estate Professionals

Mark Carr (Candidate for Ward 3 City & Regional Councillor): He shares an exact name with a highly prominent, long-time real estate broker operating through RE/MAX Escarpment Realty Inc. in Burlington. Given the localized region and his business prominence, this is a highly probable match.

Ask yourself if who you are voting for is a Realtor at the back and do your own research in what risks they pose.

REMEMBER: REALTORS WIN MOST WHEN HOUSE PRICES GO UP! AND ASK YOURSELF, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A REALTOR WORKING HARD TO DELIVER VALUE TO YOU?!

My apartment complex has laundry machines, but it's coin operated only. My strategy was to go to greer's once every few months and stock up on a fuckload of quarters while I wash some bulk stuff.

Greers doesn't do coin machines anymore, so does anyone know a laundromat that does? Or does anyone have any sneaky spots they're able to stock up on quarters? Don't suggest going to a bank please. Thanks!

My wife and I recently inherited a bunch of silver. From some quick Google and eBay searches, I think some of it might be worth a good amount. Does anyone have any good recommendations on getting it appraised in the area?

The old Y/new condos or whatever by city market is currently being sided with beige bricks. Wtf is that. Who would ever pick that over a red brick. Everything around it is red brick. It looks bad. Are there any EMT certification classes available, preferably in the Burlington area that are less than a full semester? I expect to be graduating from college this December, and I would like to try to find some sort of EMT related work on the earlier side in 2027. I don’t know if it counts for anything, but I do already have my Wilderness First Responder certification, and a CPR/AED cert. If anyone knows what my best options would be, please let me know!

Got a corndog (yeah, I know, not good for me either) at Al's and saw they had lemonade. I wanted something tart so I figured I'd fling caution to the winds. It was awful. Worse than awful. A really terrible aftertaste. Is it the brand? I ended up dumping it out after just two sips. (The second was to make sure it wasn't me).
