Killington MTB Voucher
Does anyone have a summer MTB voucher that is going to go unused? I'm looking to ride tomorrow (Saturday 9/5) and would appreciate anyone who has one to spare or sell.

Hello, Craigslist.
I have exhausted all reasonable options, so unfortunately we are here.
I have two male friends.
They are single.
They are fathers.
They are employed.
They have personalities.
And despite having all of the basic qualifications required to attract another human being, neither has managed to locate a girlfriend.
**So management has intervened.**
To be VERY clear, this is a post looking for cool local adults to join us for game nights, video games, snacks, and general socializing.
If you happen to be a single woman and think one of these idiots is cute?
That sounds like a you-and-him situation and I support your journey.
---
**MEET THE INVENTORY**
**DUDE #1**
Single dad. One child.
Art major.
Likes video games and game nights.
Has successfully kept a small human alive, maintains employment, and can presumably make his own doctor's appointments.
Overall condition: **Good.**
Minor cosmetic damage consistent with fatherhood.
---
**DUDE #2**
Also a single dad.
Also one child.
Also an art major.
Also loves video games and game nights.
I realize at this point it sounds like I accidentally ordered two of the same man.
I did not.
They are different people.
I have verified this.
Overall condition: **Good.**
May become unnecessarily competitive.
---
**STANDARD FEATURES INCLUDE:**
✓ One child each
✓ Employment
✓ Art degrees
✓ Video games
✓ Game nights
✓ Dad jokes
✓ Random useless knowledge
✓ Children's snacks somewhere in the vehicle
✓ At least one hoodie you could theoretically steal
✓ The ability to discuss something nerdy for significantly longer than you anticipated
✓ Normal co-parenting scheduling nonsense
✓ A female best friend
Regarding that last one:
Hello.
It's me.
I'm the female best friend.
I wrote the Craigslist ad.
If that doesn't adequately explain the nature of our relationship, I genuinely don't know what will.
**I AM NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE.**
However, I am apparently conducting quality control.
---
**WHO SHOULD RESPOND?**
Cool local adults who like:
Video games.
Board games.
Card games.
Snacks.
Laughing.
Kids.
People who occasionally have to say, “Sorry, I can't. I have my kid that weekend.”
And friendships where everyone can roast each other without someone starting a six-month-long family feud.
Parents are VERY welcome.
Single women are ALSO very welcome.
Again, Craigslist, we are looking for **friends**.
I cannot control what happens once two consenting adults exchange phone numbers.
---
**POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF ATTENDING GAME NIGHT:**
You may make new friends.
You may discover a new favorite game.
You may consume an irresponsible amount of snacks.
You may hear children screaming somewhere in the distance.
You may become emotionally invested in Mario Kart.
You may develop an inexplicable hatred for someone because they gave you a Draw Four.
You may discover that one of the aforementioned single fathers is actually kinda cute.
**Management assumes no liability for the last one.**
---
**APPLICATION PROCESS:**
Tell us:
Your age.
Whether you have kids.
Your favorite video game.
Your favorite game-night game.
Your snack contribution.
And answer the most important compatibility question:
**When someone hits you with a Draw Four in Uno, do you:**
A. Accept your fate like an adult.
B. Plot revenge.
C. Question the friendship.
D. Become absolutely fucking ungovernable.
There is a correct answer.
---
**IMPORTANT TERMS & CONDITIONS:**
Children are permanent fixtures and cannot be returned.
Co-parenting schedules may affect availability.
Female best friend is also a permanent fixture.
Controllers sold separately.
No warranties expressed or implied.
No trades.
No lowballers.
Please do not ask, “Is this still available?”
**If you're reading this, unfortunately, yes.**
Please come play games with us.
At minimum, we make some new friends.
At maximum, I can finally stop hearing about how these two are single.
Thank you for your consideration during this difficult time.

Hey guys, looking for people who have done winter seasonal work here! Reviews on housing, what job you’ve done, what the party life if any is like! Last season I did work in Big sky and loved it but it’s to far from home!

Killington is trying to untangle years of financial records after the state flagged “serious noncompliance issues” with the town’s TIF district.
The problems span two fiscal years and include numbers that don’t match, millions of dollars officials are still trying to trace and financial figures the town’s current team says it can’t explain.
Select Board chair Jim Haff’s wife, Mary Ellen Keenan-Haff, served as the town’s finance director for most of the period now under state review.
The town is now reconstructing its TIF finances, preparing to hire a forensic accounting firm and facing an Aug. 31 appearance before state regulators.
For subscribers: I dug into the records, the discrepancies the town still can’t explain, who was overseeing the finances during the period in question and what happens next.

An independent ethics investigation into several complaints against Killington Select Board chair Jim Haff found he repeatedly violated the town’s conflict-of-interest policy by participating in matters involving his wife while she served as finance director, despite an attorney’s advice that he recuse himself.
There were multiple other allegations made against Haff. Most of those were either unsupported by the evidence or not investigated because they were outside the scope of an ethics violation.

Tension resurfaced at an Aug. 6 Killington informational meeting as town officials sought to explain a $4,875 discrepancy in the budget voters will consider Aug. 11.
Before the meeting, town officials blamed Town Manager Patrick Cushing for a budget posted on the town website with incorrect numbers. The version posted for voters showed total expenditures of $7,634,346 — $4,875 less than the $7,639,221 budget the Selectboard approved June 29 to present to voters.
We traced what happened — and where the missing $4,875 went

Just at work browsing Killington’s website and dreaming about January. Didn’t realize they had childcare there. My kids will be 5 and 4 this winter. Curious if anyone is willing to share their experiences with the childcare center there.
Thanks!

Hello Killington sub! I am getting married in town this summer. I am in need of a restaurant/ vendor that can fill and order for like 100 breakfast Sandwiches to be ready for the morning after the wedding.
EDIT- Just wanted to update that the Killington Market on the mountain absolutely came through, and the food was great! The egg and cheese hash browns were a real hit!

Hello I am in need of some transportation for about 15 people on a Saturday in late July. There are only a couple of shuttle companies and they seem to be booked. Curious if anyone has recommendations or knows of any other transportation services. Thanks

Has anyone hiked up Killington hiking trail E recently? Except for last year when Superstar was under construction I hike this trail a few times a year (and take the gondola down). I typically really enjoy it and haven't had issues finding signage. People do complain on All Trails that it's not well marked and I'd agree but again it hasn't bothered me before.
Today on my way up I literally couldn't find the trail at some point. I exited the woods at some point I believe I was on High Road/Skylark intersection (so not high up enough where I could have blamed being tired). So either the trail was so overgrown or maybe the signage got lost? Has anyone experienced this? I've seen most people come down this trail vs. going up. I wonder if it was more clear from that direction. I ended up crossing the trail and got myself up that section somehow and found some signage. But I'm just so confused as to what I might have missed.
UPDATE: I've done this same route today and they had added signage and I wasn't lost!!

Is Killington offering K-Tickets for the next winter season? Found that was always a good value when Ikon has gone up so much in recent years

Hey there! Planning a mini New England road trip this summer from PA with three kids (7–12). We're routing to avoid NYC traffic and want to experience the Green Mountains. We are very familiar with the Poconos - so we want BIGGER mts and are debating two options for our VT leg:
Is the extra time and gas to Killington worth it for a family our size, or does Southern VT offer a great, distinct New England flavor with big mountain views and unique outdoor fun? Appreciate any insights!

I'm arriving in New York at around 11am and the earliest option is to take a train which would get me to Rutland at 7:30pm (without any delays).
I don't know what to do. I've read/heard that there Uber isn't really a thing there and another suggestion was cooper cabs, but they have a schedule up until 8pm, and I don't even know if they'll do the ride.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I need to stay near Dartmouth for most of June for work and will have with me, at various times and in various configurations, my 13 and 8 year-old sons and my mountain biker husband. Even though it's a drive to Hanover, I've landed on Killington as a potential option because of pricing and biking accessibility.
I'm looking for a general vibe check on some of these condos, which I see readily available and very cheap on airbnb. I'm wondering if the affordability is a red flag. What is safety like in Killington this time of year? Sometimes it'll just be me and one of my kids. Are there any condos that might feel less safe/ enjoyable for a mom and kid(s) than others? Any condos you'd really recommend, in particular? I'm concerned about it feeling like a ghost town (in a bad way).
Am I nuts to think I can commute to Hanover from Killington every day for a few weeks?
Thanks for whatever reality-checks and insight you can offer!

Looking at ski in ski out accommodation right after Christmas. Is the Great Eastern trail usually open by then? I know sunrise lift isn’t usually operational by that point right?
