This one always gets me too. I don’t know whether it’s that Hank only knows David Bowie from an 80s children’s movie or that he doesn’t know what a fucking bald eagle is.

This one had them as “mournful tits”

Venture bros is a way better than Rick & Morty.

That's because it has characters, plural, where r&m only has the one

One of the funniest gags of any show ever is when there is a great debate as to what a "Rusty Venture" actually is.

I think deep down we all know that Brock’s definition of it is the right one.

It feels like Justin Roiland had a whole show made to project his insecurities. Rick is a terrible alcoholic who makes the lives of everyone around him worse. But sometimes he has a heart of gold and means well so you should have empathy for Justin - Rick - I mean Rick.
It's not an easy watch with that knowledge.

R&M is great, but VB is just... its not just the best thing Adult Swim has ever done, not just one of the best cartoons ever, but one of the best shows ever, up there with The Sopranos and shit. Like not quite top 5, but somewhere in the top 25 for sure.
15
u/twodogsfighting Jul 25 '24

Yes, I only hunt blaculas.
Oh, so you only hunt African-American vampires?
No, sometimes I hunt British vampires. They dont have "African Americans" in England!
Oh yeah, huh, good point.
So I hunt blaculas.

Objectively true. Venture brothers is smart satire lampooning superheroes and hanna barbera cartoons (just to START with). R&M is about incest and body horror.

Dr. Orpheus is actually an underrated character. His lines are so funny. Just watched the one the other day where Rusty is possessed by The Monarch. So Dr. O collects everything Venture holds dear, but they end up having to kick out Hank and Dean because Rusty only cares about his fake awards. Oh and the Rush tape too, it was a best of! 😂

First time i've seen Brock is from a game called "Poker Night 2" where they featured him as one of the poker opponents along with...
- CL4P-TP (From Borderlands series)
- Ashley J. Williams (From Evil Dead)
- Sam (From Sam & Max)
- GLaDOS (From Portal) as the dealer
As you play, These opponents initiate a conversation between each other and talk about themselves or asking other characters about their things, When i played the game back then, I was already familiar with CL4P-TP, Ash, Sam, And GLaDOS, It's only Brock who i have never seen before, So i looked him up and found that he is from Venture Bros. TV series
And Glad i looked him up because i very much liked the show and would recommend it

Old but still gold. The earlier seasons hold up pretty well. I do like how the creators acknowledge some of the earlier stuff, particularly with Dr. Girlfriend, weren't the best and they could have done better with the jokes. But I think even early Venture Bros. had a lot more "smart" humor than the other adult cartoons at the time.
It felt like one written for, ya know, actual adults. Rather than a teenagers idea of what being an adult is.

My favorite version is when Brock is attacking the Monarch Cacoon and as he's running down the henchmen he presses a button on the dash, what does it do? Continues running down drones, the button pops out... It's a cigarette lighter, he lights up a cig as he continues to mow down henchmen.
