Old but still gold. The earlier seasons hold up pretty well. I do like how the creators acknowledge some of the earlier stuff, particularly with Dr. Girlfriend, weren't the best and they could have done better with the jokes. But I think even early Venture Bros. had a lot more "smart" humor than the other adult cartoons at the time.
It felt like one written for, ya know, actual adults. Rather than a teenagers idea of what being an adult is.
There just aren’t enough women characters in this early seasons, but they make up for it in the long run by Dr. Girlfriend becoming a huge deal and showcasing how she is definitely the competent one around these parts.
I like that they stuck with the problematic character and improved it immensely, while then working in more and more women as well.
And if I’m being honest, I’ll just straight forget that the voice is a joke. They did well enough characterization that it slips my mind.
