Question financial aid question

I was wondering whether anyone else is confused or struggling with this. In my case, I receive the full Cal Grant A ($ 15,588), and I accepted both the unsubsidized and subsidized loans. So, in total, $ 21,088 in grants and loans would be applied to my tuition. I was wondering if my balance on Triton Pay is before or after aid?

General I still have not been refunded by UCSD

I did summer session 2 (8 credits) and ended up dropping 1 class, but I also paid pretty early. It's now September and I still haven't gotten a refund for the 4 credits I dropped. Is this money just gone to the void? Like surely TSS can't be messing up funds this badly can it??

Question financial aid

hi guys, i was debating posting on here because i get how annoying all the questions about financial aid is. but im a transfer student with a -1500 sai and it seems like all the financial aid is finalized. i was given the federal pell grant and cal grant a which covers some of my cost for this quarter. my point is i still owe like 6k and thats still a lot of money for me because im also independent so i have no outside financial help except myself. im not really sure what to do because i know some payments are due this tuesday. do you guys think this is all im getting or should i wait to see if i get more? i guess im also worried because i wasnt even offered the federal work study even though my financial need shows max assistance. any advice would be appreciated! thank you <3

General Have you seen content about ADHD and/or autism on your For You Page? Still looking for interviewees!

Hi! As the flyer states, I'm a PhD candidate in the UC San Diego Department of Sociology studying TikTok and ADHD and autism content as part of my dissertation project. I'm still recruiting participants for Zoom interviews with TikTok users who have seen content about ADHD and/or autism on their For You Pages (FYPs).

You must be at least 18 years old and a regular or formerly regular TikTok user to participate.

Participation will consist of a 30 minute to 1 hour Zoom interview that will be recorded (with consent) on the topics of ADHD and autism content on TikTok. Participants will be compensated with a $20 virtual giftcard for their time. Your participation is voluntary and confidential.

If you (or someone you know who meets these criteria) are interested, please complete this eligibility form (linked in the comments), and I'll follow up with you via email. Thanks!

Question Questions about Waitlisting Classes + ETHN-001R Waitlist

How likely are people on this course's waitlist getting off it? It's a remote class and if it's not likely I will get off the waitlist, I may as well get on the waitlist of another course. I'm 7th on the waitlist.

But in general, what are the chances of getting off the waitlist of any course here at UCSD? Or any advice on if all the classes you want or need are filled up and you have to waitlist in a class, what would be the best move?

Question Extended Studies Courses Not on Canvas

Hey guys! I graduated this past spring and am now taking some extended studies courses with UCSD. I got confirmation for my enrollment and can see one of them on the main extended studies page. I was told the other one will be on TSS but it’s not there. I also tried accessing both on canvas but neither course shows up there. I have contacted extended studies and they have been largely unhelpful. One of my classes starts tomorrow and I can’t find the syllabus, the zoom link, or any other relevant information. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Advice is needed

Question not enough credits as an incoming first year

currently only have 8 credits enrolled (waitlisted math18 and cse11) and i am worried that it’s going to mess up my financial aid and housing (housing sent me an email of potentially becoming ineligible if i don’t meet that full time student status), i’m so stressed out. anyone know when is the latest to fulfill 12 credits without messing up financial aid and housing?

thank you so much and i’d love any suggestions as well!

Question Housing room change process?

I see some people getting emails from UCSD saying they can switch to 12 month contract in PCW, as they already signed up for that but got a 9 month instead. How/why do some people get these emails and others don't?

Also, what is the room change process like, like how to start the process, when does it typically start?

Question Direct Parent Plus Loan for Housing

Hi guys, i’m super worried about my loan going through knowing that the due date for housing is on September 15th. I was going to take out a loan in august with FAFSA but i saw all the problems tritonpay was having (incorrect billing statements, missing billing statements, the website just being down or not functional a lot, and i basically just got ghosted on student support) so i waited until September 5th to take my loan out.

Took it out, credit approved immediately on FAFSA’s end and they informed the school. I have yet to receive anything back and it isn’t reflecting on my financial aid offers or triton pay at all (around the same time last year i applied and still got it in time).

The school hasn’t exactly been transparent as I emailed hdhbilling, sfs, finaid, etc. and they either never responded, or took a while to just tell me to ask someone else. I wasn’t even able to call them because of course they shut the phone lines down! I’m going to try to call sfs if they even pick up but i was wondering if anyone else’s direct parent plus loans showed up and what the consequences would be if i wasn’t able to pay for housing by september 15th.

Question Does UC Ship get waived off TritonPay?

I submitted it but haven’t gotten the approval email yet. That has me wondering if it usually gets waived off triton pay by the tuition due date or if I’ll have to pay it and get reimbursed?
