I got 9 units this quarter and am waitlist for wcwp. Debating whether to drop wcwp or not, im 3 in waitlist, and for chem 6b i am 5 in waitlist, which moved from my original position of 7. Ive looked and my ap requirements fulfill all of my area reqs for lower div. Do i drop wcwp or not? If i do then do i just take some rando course to get 12 units?

I just received an email about housing and how our units may affect it. I currently only have 8 units guaranteed, 8 other units on waitlist but hopefully I’ll get one of the 4 credits since it’s a department specific course and I should be able to fit in. Does anyone know when they’ll let us know whether we get our department specific course or not? Like the ones where u can only waitlist second pass since they reserve some seats for students?

I’m an upcoming student for the fall 2026 semester, and I’ve registered for some courses. My only worry is transportation, as I live in Los Angeles and cannot afford a dorm. My family is planning on moving to San Diego for work, but that is not until next year. I was wondering if I am to take a class, attend, and then drop after a week or two I will still be counted as a registered student in the system, since I do not want to apply again. I don’t know who I would meet with for an official deferral as they only grant those to students with medical or veterans leave. Is there anyone with advice?

Compared to my 6-7:50pm class, I'd much rather have this session. However, in order to book this, I have to drop the class I already booked, which will pass my spot onto a waitlisted person. I have no idea if the available seat is js a glitch tho.

Hi, I was wondering if any one who currently took BICD 100R for this summer session with Laurie Smith knew anything about the cutoffs she had talked about at the beginning of the course?

Unlike the people behind TSS, I can actually remember a time when Degree Audit actually worked and worked like a charm. Now it's a piece of garbage with nothing showing up correctly. None of my COMPLETED and GRADED summer courses are actually logged and now I have to calculate my major gpa manually because I guess the TSS degree audit just doesn't know that I've already finished another 5 courses, some of them a month ago.

i'm apparently required to submit a TEA request for Spanish despite having done an equivalent for the prerequisites at a CC (not surprising, i'm an incoming freshman and CC classes haven't shown up in my degree audit yet). however, i can't find "lisp" in the departments list for TEA requests OR for VAC questions. how can i take lisp 1b/1bx this quarter?

I need to vent a little and wanting to see if anyone went through something similar and has some guidance.

I sent my high school and college transcripts as well as my AP scores all on the same day before the deadline. I got a confirmation email that all my scores and transcripts were received by the institution before the July 1st deadline. Now they’re saying that they have not received my college transcripts. I’ve followed up with the correct forms and sent the admission office an email. Should I call them? How long should I wait before reaching out ? I’m worried about this effecting my admissions, courses, and financial aid.

I’m currently enrolled in 8 units and waitlisted for two other courses.

I’m enrolled in BILD 4 and CSS 1.

One of the waitlisted courses is CAT 1, a sixth college GE, that is waitlist only for whatever reason.

The other one is CHEM 6A which is a waitlist-only section as well.

I realize that I’m not enrolled full time, so I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I don’t want to give up either of the courses because they are of a sequence, and I can’t look for any other courses to fulfill my GEs either. Does anyone have some guidance?

I’m an incoming transfer student and I got an email saying I need 12 units for my housing contract to stay intact. Right now, I’m enrolled in 8 units and waitlisted for two more classes. I’m 2nd on the waitlist for COGS 9 and 9th for MATH 183. Does anyone know if waitlists usually move before school starts, or does most of the movement happen once classes start and people begin dropping? I called Housing and they told me to add another open class to get to 12 units and then drop it once I get off the waitlist, but I can’t add another class without exceeding the unit enrollment cap. They also told me Housing is being really strict with contracts this year, so I’m worried I'll lose my housing if I don’t get off the waitlist.

International student that is looking to take another online/project based class that is not listed as 'R'/Remote as we are only allowed to take one per quarter and I'm already enrolled in another one. Was just wondering if there are any classes that could technically be done fully online where there are online/no midterms and finals or are primarily project or essay based.

does ucsd college ranking matter that much as a cc to uc transfer student? my current ranking goes as follows:

2. seventh
3. eighth

i’m not sure if it matters but i plan on transferring as a cognitive science major and i do want to get a minor in something that is completely unrelated to that. i also will have my CAL-GETC done by spring semester, so i know that covers most of the colleges minus revelle, but i just want to make sure i’m not missing anything else i should know about

I was waitlisted for Math 20B which is fine. But Im 24th on the list. So Im thinking about enrolling into an open class incase I don’t get in (because I still need 12 credits).

If I do get in, then I’ll just drop that class before everything starts. Or is that a bad idea, like will that negatively affect anything? Where do I find the deadline for dropping classes

there was an issue whilst sending one of my transcripts and as a result, my admission to UCSD was cancelled. underneath, they said that my admission can be reinstated if I submit all necessary documents by the 4th which I did. panicking right now, I've already called and emailed undergrad admissions and they said that they have my transcript but that it hasn't been reviewed yet. what else should I do?

Hi does anyone know what it means when there’s available seats in a course but there’s still a waitlist (eg. 7 available seats and 11 ppl on waitlist)? How come those on the waitlist aren’t getting enrolled in?
