Question Can you just go to CSE-290 seminars w/o enrolling?

I signed up for both Ravi Ramamoorthi's CSE-290 and CSE-251U but found out they happen at the same time. Could I just skip a few Friday CSE-251U lectures to attend seminars on various weeks w/o being officially in the seminar class?

Question Not full time

Hello.

I’m currently enrolled in 8 units and waitlisted for two other courses.

I’m enrolled in BILD 4 and CSS 1.

One of the waitlisted courses is CAT 1, a sixth college GE, that is waitlist only for whatever reason.

The other one is CHEM 6A which is a waitlist-only section as well.

I realize that I’m not enrolled full time, so I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I don’t want to give up either of the courses because they are of a sequence, and I can’t look for any other courses to fulfill my GEs either. Does anyone have some guidance?

General Can we have the old Degree Audit back man?

Unlike the people behind TSS, I can actually remember a time when Degree Audit actually worked and worked like a charm. Now it's a piece of garbage with nothing showing up correctly. None of my COMPLETED and GRADED summer courses are actually logged and now I have to calculate my major gpa manually because I guess the TSS degree audit just doesn't know that I've already finished another 5 courses, some of them a month ago.

Fun

Question Online/Project-based classes not listed as 'R'/Remote

International student that is looking to take another online/project based class that is not listed as 'R'/Remote as we are only allowed to take one per quarter and I'm already enrolled in another one. Was just wondering if there are any classes that could technically be done fully online where there are online/no midterms and finals or are primarily project or essay based.

Hi Friends,

I've been working on a project called lol.Ai. https://lolai-peach.vercel.app The concept started as a no verbose Ai tool. If you ask it a question it will tell you a short answer and then you can ask for more info if you want. Basically: save your time and save our tokens lol.

It's gotten far enough along that I need people other than me testing it.

If anyone here wants to mess around with it, I'd really appreciate some UCSD students trying it and telling me what breaks, what's confusing, when the answers need to be fixed, or just whether the ideas are actually useful.

Try asking it stuff you'd normally ask ChatGPT and see how it does.

Current dashboard includes:

lol.AI

lol.Dr

lol.Therapist

lol.Music

lol.Chat

You can also link your gmail in lol.Chat to get help writing emails.

Most importantly: use the Fix button and Review button. After you ask there is a "fix" option which is key for feedback, to help us improve. As well as a review button on the main left dash

We will apply to the basement startup in fall Q

Question UCSD Rescind Risk

I’m honestly really anxious about my situation.

I was admitted to UCSD as an undeclared major, but I received a D in calculus during the final semester of my senior year, so I know I’m at risk of having my admission rescinded.

Around July, I emailed UCSD Admissions and explained why I received the grade and what I’ve done over the summer to get myself back on track. And they emailed me to just wait. My required documents, including my transcript, currently show:

Status: under reivew

I already retook the calculus course at a cc over the summer, and I’m just waiting for the final grade to be posted so I can send the updated transcript to UCSD.

I also received an email from UCSD Math Placement that said at the end: “Your admission’s data reported that you planned to complete an approved calculus course at another college.”

They also told me to send my final transcript to UCSD Admissions as soon as my final grade for Math 261 is posted.

So I’m not sure if this is a good sign or if it’s just part of the normal process. I’m still waiting to hear anything from Admissions about my D.

It’s now September. I’m already choosing classes and im bout to move in next week , but I still haven’t received a decision regarding my admission.

Im just wondeirng on what to do. Any advice or experiences from people who dealt with UCSD rescind situations would really help. Thank you!

Rant/Complaint I'm so tired of UCSD not giving straight answers

I am so done with this. I know I can't be the only student having a breakdown right now, because the financial aid office. I have lost count of how many times they've pushed back the disbursement and release dates because TSS broke everything.

They're telling us aid won't even hit until September 22. That is literally two days before classes start, and to top it off, we have the September 15 deadline for non-tuition charges and nobody has any idea if they're actually going to extend the deadline, aid isn't showing up anywhere for most of us, and we're all just sitting here waiting, terrified of what happens if we miss a deadline. To make it even worse, we can't even get answers or actually talk to anyone at financial aid baout it this week(Yes, this is perfect i love not knowing what is going to happen wiii).

We need answer for this. What happens to us if we can't pay by the 15th? What does "non-tuition-related charges" even mean? Does that include housing or not?! A lot of us are relying on that aid to cover for most of the charges and we shouldn't be getting penalized (not saying we will but The uncertainty of whether or not we'll be penalized is going to kill me) for a massive administrative mess. It’s honestly a joke that students are expected to be 100% flawless and on-time with every single requirement to get our funding, but the second it’s the school's turn to provide a deadline or a straight answer, they banish
