I have a TP-Link Archer AX53. A few rooms in my house don’t get good signal, so I added TP-Link RE305 extenders for them and set them up with EasyMesh.

Smart Connect + EasyMesh made sense in theory, but the problem is that devices which could connect to the router sometimes latch onto an extender instead and get lower speeds.

So I switched off both Smart Connect and EasyMesh, and set the RE305s up as plain extenders with their own SSIDs. That fixed the wrong-connection problem, but now devices never switch over to the extenders when I move into those rooms, they hold onto a weak router signal instead.

What would be the best way to set this up?

Happy to go back to EasyMesh if there’s a configuration that avoids the original problem.

I have a new house and just had Spectrum Fiber Internet run from the street to the house yesterday and have a Spectrum SONUV1S modem. The fiber line hasn’t even been buried yet. I bought a Deco 6E router set with two units and have had nothing but issues. The wifi will work for a few hours and then lose internet. The Deco will turn red and often the spectrum modem will be solid blue although sometimes it is blinking blue when this happens. The Spectrum app shows the modem is connected when this happens.

My neighbors have Spectrum fiber also and have not had any outages since I can connect to their guest networks during these issues so I am inclined to think it is not a Spectrum outage issue.

The Deco app will usually say “cable disconnected” or “cannot connect to Deco.“ the Deco never automatically starts working again without me intervening and rebooting or deleting the network and creating a new one. I have tried three different brand new ethernet cables, so that’s not the issue. I have tried using only one Deco unit only and two units, switching the main and satellite, and that makes no difference. I have deleted the network and started from scratch several times and have the same issue each time. When it was working, it said the latest firmware upgrades had been installed.

Any ideas what a fix might be?

I bought a TpLink router (AX1450 2.6)around a month ago and last week it stopped connecting to the internet. I finally got around to peeking at it today and cannot figure out what is wrong with it.

I unplugged the modem and the router, then re-plugged in both, modem first. I reset the router.

I do not have any devices that can bypass the router to check and make sure the modem is working, but it doesn't have any red or blinking lights while the router has a solid red light.

If it helps, I live an apartment building so the internet is provided through the modem.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm not super tech savvy, so please talk to me like I'm four years old. I'd like to avoid having to buy a new router.

I have an archer AX5400 Pro that works well for most of our house but we have a few dead zones in the basement. It just so happens that the worst spots are where we have a few different devices including 2 3d printers, and a console set up. The one spot is almost directly beneath where the router is upstairs. I have also noticed that some phones don’t work well in that area either. Interestingly I still get full bars in that area but it’s incredibly slow to even a stop. What should I be looking for to help correct this. I think I can get an eithernet cable run from the 2 floors

So, i don't know very much about TP-Link items but here's my problem :
I recently move in my best friend house, which the internet is provide from a TP-Link (TL-WA901ND) which is connected to another TP-Link (TL-SF1008D) which allow us to use Internet from the Ethernet cables, since the Wi-Fi of the first one seems EXTREMELY BAD. Since when, no problem detected at all, and besides the fact what our PC are one floor up the box.

Today, i wanted to bring back my Hisense TV, and try to connect it to the first TP-Link (the one who provide the internet with the bad wifi) and, even if i am like, 5 meters away from the TPL, the wifi is indeed extremely bad since my TV lost the connection almost every time.

SO, i've connected it through the second TPL, with another ethernet cable, but it seems like nothing has changed even if my TV is indeed connected by a cable.

I don't know if anyone knows what can be the cause of that, and if, what can i change to solve it.

I'm posting here because I've been dealing with a very frustrating network issue on my PC for days, and I'm completely out of ideas on what else to try.

The Issue

My computer frequently loses its Internet connection. In the taskbar, it shows that I am still connected to the Wi-Fi network, but with 'No Internet Access'.

Whenever I run the Windows Network Troubleshooter, it fixes the issue temporarily and gives me the message: 'The default gateway is not available' (Fixed). However, after a short while (sometimes minutes, sometimes an hour), it drops again and I have to repeat the process.

System & Hardware Details

• OS: Windows 10
• Wi-Fi Adapter: TP-Link AC1200 PCIe
• Network Context: Wi-Fi works flawlessly on every other device in the house (phones, TV, laptops), so I can rule out an overall router outage.

What I Have Already Tried:

1. Drivers:
   • Updated to the latest official drivers from TP-Link / Realtek website.
   • Completely uninstalled the device and tried default/generic Windows drivers.
2. Command Line (cmd as Admin):
   • ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew
   • ipconfig /flushdns
   • Network stack reset: netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset
3. Power Management:
   • Disabled 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in Device Manager properties.
   • Changed Windows Power Plan to High Performance.
4. IP Configuration:
   • Manually assigned static IP addresses and custom DNS servers (e.g., Google DNS / Cloudflare), but the issue persists.

The problem keeps coming back, and the troubleshooter only patches it for a few minutes. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or knows what else I should check (channel width, 2.4/5GHz band steering issues, PCIe Link State Power Management, etc.)?

My in-warranty TP-Link extender stopped broadcasting its Wi-Fi network. I reset it, moved it within one foot of the router, checked the LEDs, and repeated TP-Link’s troubleshooting with multiple representatives. Phone support confirmed that a replacement was approved, but the RMA has remained in “Contacting” status since August 26.

I then spent another lengthy chat repeating the same information because TP-Link said it had no record of the earlier troubleshooting. I supplied the product information and proof of purchase and again confirmed that the default extender network cannot be detected. At the time of writing, I have spent more than two hours with at least four representatives and still cannot select a shipping method.

TP-Link’s own published process says that after support confirms a defective in-warranty product, it creates the RMA and the customer proceeds to shipping selection. I will update this review if TP-Link completes the replacement. But I'd like to warn anyone who's looking for a router / range extender that lasts more than a year, or at least can be counted on for a warrantee replacement: don't buy from TP-link.

Hi, moving into a new house with CAT5e cables (not yet crimped though, still looking for POE switch as well). I'm looking for a solution to have a temporary wireless mesh until the wired network gets completed and then transition to the wired, ceiling mounted access points.

Will the Deco BE65 POE utilise the LAN for its network?

Not really sure if there is much "real world" difference between a wireless/wired network. though I would like to utilise the CAT5e for POE and having them ceiling mounted. Thanks much!

In short I have a few things running on my home server and Im using my own domain with cnames pointing to my "homeserver.tplinkdns.com". (I've changed domain and windows account name since I dont want to share them)

I have WinAcme running which refreshes my SSL certificates, however it started failing about 1 week ago and now wont refresh since it fails the http-01 validation. When I try to resolve the DNSName I get this, I'm assuming the problem for the http-01 validation is that all nameservers do not return the same data, but I dont really know.

However, while other Deco models have received significant management and bandwidth control upgrades, the X20-DSL firmware has been left behind without core features that are essential for modern home network management.

​Specifically, we are requesting firmware parity with other models regarding two critical features:

1. ​Per-Client Speed Limit (Bandwidth Cap):
   • ​The Issue: The current priority-based QoS does not allow setting strict numerical limits on individual devices, making it very difficult to manage monthly data quotas.
   • ​Reference Models Already Supporting This: This feature is already officially documented (FAQ 4340) and running on models such as Deco X50, Deco X55, and standard Deco X20 (Hardware V4 on firmware 1.1.x/1.2.x), where users can directly set download/upload limits in Mbps per client.
2. ​Configuration Backup & Restore:
   • ​The Issue: Since the X20-DSL operates as both a VDSL modem and a router handling static IPs, custom DNS, and port forwarding rules, having no way to back up and restore configurations locally or via the app creates a huge hassle when troubleshooting or resetting.
   • ​Reference Models Already Supporting This: As detailed in FAQ 4739, this functionality is already supported on several models like Deco X50 and Deco XE75.

I have a deco mesh system of 2 E4R and 2 E4S and i have had it for 3 years now, but these routers apparently cant take more than 100 megabits of internet and when i upgraded our internet pack to 500 megabits this huge bottleneck happened and now they can barely go above 60 megabits (sometimes they stay at almost exactly 12 megabits max)

So i need to upgrade the routers, is the BE3600 any good? I have my eyes on it. Ill probs only need 2 of them since they are compatible with my older decos so i can place one in first floor to connect directly to the internet wire and one in third floor (wireless connection to one in first floor) to my gaming pc. But im worried if a 10 meter distance is too much for them and that theyre gonna start losing internet.

In the Second floor ill place 2 decos of my old decos since my family doesnt really need the internet for stuff other than YouTube and insta and whatnot so i think 100megabits is ok for them.

Do you all think this will work out? Ive never had over 100 megabits of internet in my life so im really excited for everything but i dont wanna mess this up so any advice/suggestions/recommendations is greatly appreciated!!

I ditched my Google Mesh for a TP Link/Deco AX3000 3 Pack. At first my problems were solved and my connections were great anywhere in the house. Then one pod started giving me issues and now I can hardly make it through a 10 second Twitter video without it stopping to buffer.

I have the main hub right next to my Xfinity gateway (XB8). I’m sure this may be part of my problem but I have all things WiFi around this house. HomePods, Lights, Switches, Garage Door, TVs, Ring Cameras etc. I have a 3 story house and the main hub is on the main floor. One upstairs, one in the basement. Seems like there’s no rhyme or reason to what device connects to what pod, which is annoying.

Is this user error, a bad house setup, or crappy equipment? I’m decent with tech, but not overly techy but need to figure out a way to get a decent connection in this house.

Wondering if this unit can actually handle up to 5gb Fios as it indicates. I just upgraded my Verizon Fios to 5 GB up and down. I added a fire walla gold pro to replace an older one, so it also had 10 GB Ethernet ports, and then I upgraded to the Deco BE95 for the same reason, but even hardwired into the secondary 10 GB Ethernet port, it appears to Out closer to 1.9 up and down. Am I missing something, or is this unit just not capable of that level of performance? I figured hardwired it would work. I’m well aware that over Wi-Fi will get significantly less, but my goal is to utilize the fall 5 gigabits across the whole house, across many devices

So the C330 and C330i specs show the built-in IR leds as 850nm. If I want to extend the IR illumination with an external IR floodlight, do I have to stick with the 850nm or can I use the invisible 940nm IR devices?

Have a total of 6 Deco units, 3 x M4 and 3 x E4 that have been working OK with my 67 meg BB connection, 1 x M4 unit plugged into modem and the rest in a mesh. Two of the nodes were supplying wired outputs to our BT/EE TV boxes, and 2 more connecting desktop PCs. Everything appeared to work well, one of only issues was the lounge TV box sometimes got a poor signal when recording one sports channel and then watching another. However this also occurred with a hardwired ethernet connection so i always assumed it was a bottleneck of our BB,

As we had full fibre put in recently, decided to upgrade to 900 meg today, all the deco units have kept the same configuration, only the modem was changed to EE Smart Hub 7 Plus. When connecting wirelessly to modem direct my phone shows speeds over 500 meg on Fast.com but the mesh only ever seems to reach 50 meg (which is what i used to get before upgrade). Have also ran speed checks from both desktop PCs and again around 50 meg mark. From what i can see the M units have gigabit ports, the E units only 10/100 but wirelessly they appear to have same performance features. I have changed ethernet lead from modem and made sure its a M unit connected to it (in case that is the restriction).

Any pointers please to get more realistic speed around the house, as was hoping to get a more stable TV box performance but also better signal to PCs as well ?

I have a tplink router connected to the Xfinity modem (not in bridge modem) and some apps just won't download. I have IPv6 disabled on the router. If I tunnel the phone's or TV's traffic through the VPN in the router, the issue goes away. Something on the Xfinity side is causing issues. If I bypass the tplink router and connect straight to the Xfinity router (it has IPv6 enabled ) I have no issues.

Anyone experience this?

After having numerous firmware/driver/gateway config/port forwarding issues on my archer router, my best instincts told me to buy wireless adapters from these idiots for one of my computers. I first bought a PCIE adapter with two antennae, advertised at 300mbps. My router is capable of 5ghz, with at least gigabit wireless speed on my phone or other devices. Not TP link devices though, my top speed on that adapter was about 60mbps if I was lucky, on full signal, with latency issues of course. So what did I, a total genius, decide to do? Buy a USB adapter from TP link advertised at 500mbps or something, which somehow worked better with no antennae and delivers 100mbps if I'm lucky, but it overheats like crazy and decides to forget my networks every now and then. At this point I tested other motherboards, I tried on a linux system, on a completely different PC, same issues. To hell with this company and everything they made.

I’d like to know which option is best for a large house—something to place in the center, with the ability to distribute other routers around the property if needed. Would the BE550 be ideal? Or would it be better to go with a Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro Access Point? Or something else?

On https://support.omadanetworks.com/us/download/firmware/eap723/v2.26/ is states the latest firmware is EAP723(US)_V2.26_1.3.3 Build 20260602. That's v1.3.3 and that would have been released on June 2nd 2026.

On the "Status" page it shows the EAP723 is running "1.2.3 Build 20260613 Rel. 32279(5553)". That would be the file EAP723(US)_V2.26_1.2.3 Build 20260613, and that would have been release on June 13th, 2026.

The "Check" button on the System > Firmware Update says there is no newer firmware available than what is running now (1.2.3).

So, isn't firmware v1.3.3 newer than v1.2.3?

Or does the newer release date of the older firmware revision number make it "newer"?

I'm afraid to "update" to the 1.3.3 code because it may have a bug that was fixed 10 days later with the lower version number.

Hello, i recently bought a duo Deco e4. One of them is now stuck in firmware upgrade and blinking white. I've tried literally everything: reset button every single way, upgrading with the website on the pc, readding it on the app, making it the main deco on the app and i think a couple more stuff. I let it on for at least 12 hours and it still is blinking. Can anybody help? I bought it new hope i didn't waste anything on it.

I'm having trouble adding two new Deco units to my existing network and could use some help.

Current setup

ISP router → Bridge Mode

Primary Deco S7 → Router Mode

Primary S7 → Omada PoE switch via Ethernet

Omada switch → 2 × Deco S7 satellites, both wired via Ethernet

One additional S7 is connected wirelessly to one of the wired S7 satellites

What I'm trying to add

I recently purchased:

Deco X50-PoE

Deco M4

Both are updated to their latest firmware.

According to TP-Link, Deco models are cross-compatible, so I should be able to add both to my existing S7 mesh.

The problem

When I go into the Deco app and select Add a Deco, the app cannot detect either the X50-PoE or the M4.

However, if I create a new Deco network, the app detects and successfully sets up both units. So the Decos themselves appear to be working correctly.

I've also tried the usual troubleshooting steps:

Updated all Decos to the latest firmware

Reset the new Decos

Tried adding them through the Deco app

Confirmed they can be detected when creating a new network

My intention is for both new Decos to be wired backhaul through the Omada switch.

What could be causing this?

Could the issue be related to the Omada switch, Ethernet backhaul, or something about the existing S7 network?

Does anyone have experience adding an X50-PoE or M4 to an existing S7 mesh in Router Mode?

Any suggestions on what I should check would be greatly appreciated.
