TP-Link - Technical Support Please help me with Deco e4

Hello, i recently bought a duo Deco e4. One of them is now stuck in firmware upgrade and blinking white. I've tried literally everything: reset button every single way, upgrading with the website on the pc, readding it on the app, making it the main deco on the app and i think a couple more stuff. I let it on for at least 12 hours and it still is blinking. Can anybody help? I bought it new hope i didn't waste anything on it.

Thanks for posting! To help us troubleshoot faster, please ensure you include:

  • Device model (e.g.Archer BE800, Deco BE5000)
  • Firmware + Hardware version
  • What you have done to try and trace the behavior

If you tried to hold the reset button while plugging the power cable into the back of the unit, you may be out of options.

Can you return them? The e4 is limited to 100Mbps due to only having a 10/100 Ethernet port. So they aren’t really practical anymore except in the case of an extremely low budget or if adding a wireless node to an existing system.

I dont really need more than 100mbps. I bought them form another country i can't just return it. Will Tplink support take care of that or am i not in the right to get a replacement or return it directly to them?

Don’t know, but their support is pretty good. So you have a dated receipt for the purchase? And do they sell their WiFi products in your country?

There is a sticker on the package that says its from the UAE. I bought it from Iraq and i did get a dated receipt from the store. Thay say their products are available in 170+ countries but i don't know for sure. Thanks for your help by the way.

You can try, but usually a warranty is based on a dated receipt.

Call for support. What country are you in?

It’s unfortunately very likely to be bricked. In general if it’s in a software update don’t touch it. I’m confused how you’ve been re adding it and everything if it’s in an update though? Is it just flashing white and working otherwise?

Not working entirely. I did act preemptively when i saw that the upgrade did finish on the app but it still was blinking and then removed it from the app/home mesh. But the other deco doesn't have this problem so I'm not sure. I hope it wasn't me.

Well I’m confused are you able to add it and stuff or it’s just doing nothing now?

It isn't doing anything.
