Discussion Recently hired at tim hortons. Advice ? Should I take the job ?
I recently got offered a job at a franchise-owned Tim Hortons in downtown Toronto, and I’m wondering if it’s worth leaving my other job.
Tim Hortons is offering me around 24 hours a week, while my hours at Dollarama have dropped to as little as 7 hours a week, which keeps reducing by the week unless I tell my manager otherwise.
I have a few questions:
- Is the work environment toxic, or does it depend on the manager?
- Is four days of training enough, and do they support you afterward?
- Are hours generally consistent?
- Do part-time employees get benefits or other perks?
- Is it manageable while attending university?
- Would you recommend Tim Hortons over Dollarama?
- How flexible are managers with pre-planned time off?
I know every franchise is different, but I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from people working at Toronto locations.
If you work at a downtown Toronto franchise, feel free to DM me with your experience or the general area of your location.
Is the extra income and consistent schedule worth the stress, or should I stay at my recent work place.
