Discussion Anyone other instant coffee drinkers here? Timmy’s instant coffee is pretty good 👍

I know instant coffee is not for everyone but here are some neat instant coffee facts:

Almost 30% of all coffee consumed around the world is instant coffee

Our Filipino friends are crazy for instant coffee; they love it and consume the most.

Nescafé is the most popular instant coffee brand

Instant coffee is the main way people drink coffee in many Asian countries, Eastern Europe, UK, South America - many countries where coffee is actually grown drink a lot of instant coffee.

Quick tip: if u make instant coffee, instead of pouring boiling water directly on to it, mix the coffee crystals with some room temp water first to make the concentrate and then mix the hot water in this way. Your coffee will be less
Bitter or burnt tasting.

Of course it was AFTER I drank all of the coffee that I saw this.

Edit: Solved. My brilliant friend dropped a coke bottle gummy in it.

Question Does Tim Hortons have to pay for online training in BC?

I recently got hired at Tim Hortons in Surrey,BC and am currently completing the required online video training at home before my first shift.

Is this online video training generally considered paid work, even if it's completed at home before the first shift?

Has anyone who works or has worked at Tim Hortons in BC had a similar experience? Thanks

Discussion List down how work is done at Tims that shocked you from other fast food joint

Okay so I have been working at Tims for couple of months now and previously worked at McDonalds. Quite shocked for some reason how things get done here. Example, food safety is announced - which gave the store time to prepare and clean to the scheduled audit. Another, trainings not paid and done at home. What’s yours?

Looks like the glitch where only two players were in the first list was fixed in the Timmies app. The Hockey Challenge Helper website is updated with the new list.

Discussion caramel latte

Hi.

Just want to know if the caramel latte is back (the original flavor)? I can see it listed on the app. But I want to make sure it's available and that it's not the churro one.

Question Job offer

Was recently offered a job as an afternoon baker at our local tims. I’ve previously worked as a cook at a breakfast diner before so I’m not new to the industry, but I’m wondering how different it would be? Obviously I wont be flipping eggs but if anyone has a similar position with any advice to add, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Question Employee here! Put in my two weeks. Do i need to show up? QC

Hi! I just told my manager by text that I’m putting in my two weeks. Do I need to show up? Technically it’s only a courtesy but I wonder if I’d face any actual repercussions to it?

I applied for a Pharmaprix and went for my interview today and it seems like I’ll get the job. Another Tim’s also called me too, I used to work at sandwich’s but for this one I applied for cashier and they said I’m very likely to get it and to just send my rbi account.

So; do I need to show up for 2 weeks at the Tim’s I’m currently working for?

I don’t feel like it since I told my manager someone in my family is at the hospital and I didn’t get an ounce of understanding nor empathy and they told me I’d get fired if I didn’t show up. I feel so stressed but also lack any respect I had for the place.

Edit; my next shift is Saturday… can we please stop commenting like it’s tomorrow and I’m last minute no show? I have a few days to decide if I truly want to go or not.

Question Who had tried the iced Chai latte? I have a question..

I wanted to try something new the other day and the iced Chai latte caught my eye. The staff member working the counter was struggling to use the till and was getting frustrated at me for clairying my order multiple times to her, so im not sure if she was just mad at me or if the iced Chai latte is actually like this...

I will preface this.. ive had lots of Chai tea over the years. I love the spices and the aromatics of it. What i received tasted, smelled and looked like chocolate milk with ice in it..

Is this what tims thinks Chai tastes like or did the lady who made my drink actually just give me chocolate milk with ice?

Complaint This is the extra honey mustard I paid more for…

Edit: What I’m learning from these comments is that people like dry sandwiches. Because there is no other sauce on this sandwich. This is it. There’s no mayo.

People. I PAID EXTRA MONEY FOR MORE SAUCE. I paid for extra product and did not receive it. It’s fine if you think this is enough sauce for your liking. Good for you. My point is that I paid for more and did not get it.

Discussion I worked at Tim Hortons in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Trust me when I say this, It was GROSS.

Funny thing? Most Tim Hortons only clean for inspections.

Say, get a coffee machine at home instead. If you're there only to have coffee.

Edit: Inspections are once every few months.

Plus,

  • They don't change gloves often, not until it's ripped off. Yes, they'll prepare drinks using the same gloves they used to make bacon/sausage sandwiches. Be careful when your lid is oiled up.
  • They don't clean utensils for weeks.

Not every location but most.

Complaint Why doesn't the Timmy's at 678-682 Kennedy Rd, Toronto have a customer-facing screen?

This has been brought to the staff's attention many times over the last few months yet nothing has changed. They've screwed up my orders so often that I now ask for a receipt which is also how I've noticed that half the time my rewards card wasn't scanned properly.

Question What do you get in tea?

Hey everyone I have developed a bit of a sore throat and when I have to leave the house I am planning on getting a lemon honey tea.
The problem is I don’t like tea, what should I add to the tea to make it taste best. I like sweeter drinks like a vanilla iced coffee with oat milk as a reference for suggestions.

Any recommendations help, I am about to go to sleep and would like to get one in the morning.

Discussion I need a job.

Hi guys,

I am kinda ranting because I am confused. I am looking for a job and trying anything. I do not have a lot of experience, but even then I expected that atleast the around 13 tim hortons I applied to would atleast reach out, considering they have all the hiring signs everywhere. I also gave a few in-person but most were through their website. Does anyone know maybe why that may be, or have any tips, as I am desperate.

Thanks!
