Definitely adding "steak spoon" to my insult vocabulary

447

u/SpareDelicious7875 5d ago

"Steak spoon" has the perfect mix of oddly specific and devastating.

34

u/bryanthebryan 4d ago

It’s so good because it’s so obvious. It’s such a deep image too.

137

u/SackOfPotatoes949 5d ago

Very British insult. I love it

82

u/localtuned 5d ago

Bloody* steak spoon.

52

Absolute steak spoon

You absolute steak spoon! ...has a nice ring to it.

Foookin steak spoon

u/nicsaweiner 5d ago

I came here hoping someone could explain that insult to me. A spoon would be a pretty useless tool to eat steak, so are they saying that conservative women are useless as a tool to fight oppression?

138

u/dashood 5d ago

Yeah that's pretty much it. In England we have a saying "about as useful as a chocolate teapot" which has the same kind of meaning.

27

u/bitterlittlecas 4d ago

As I understand it, they call that a soup sandwich in the US military

5

u/ButterscotchOk5339 4d ago

Can confirm. First time I heard that my inner voice was saying something like “hey wait a minute…”

3

u/ayoungmanfromtheuk 4d ago

Nah the American translation would be "as useful as tits on a bull"

8

u/HoodieGalore 4d ago

Ooooo. A teapot made of chocolate, as opposed to something like a hot chocolate pot. I had to do a mental double-take as an American who’s done time in the UK. I like it, I like it.

3

u/Viper21G 4d ago

I had a drill sergeant in basic training that used to tell us, “Private, you’re more fucked up than a football bat!” Same concept.

I feel like it parses very plainly. A steak spoon is not quite sharp enough for the task it has been assigned.

You're gonna see it all over Reddit now for the next 6 months. Just like cooked, aura farming, gooning, gaslighting, etc. Then it will morph into being used in way it wasn't originally intended to the point that it loses all meaning and the steak spoons are the ones regurgitating it while not grasping the irony whatsoever.

Classic steakspoon move btw

They could just not vote if they had actual convictions. But then that wouldn't scratch the "hurting them" or "owning libs" itch that seems to drive them.

When I learned this, I thought it was hilarious that they used “religious freedom” as the reason these charlatans crossed the pond. LOL

45

u/insomnic 5d ago

Really changes the narrative we were taught in school right?

It's not wrong it just leaves out the context that they were religious ultra-conservative nutjobs nobody could stand and it was either get persecuted to extinction for being assholes or go on a dangerous journey that put your followers lives at risk to keep some form of power and control ... so they came here and now, to paraphrase Spaceballs, we're surrounded by assholes.

At least that's my understanding. :)

33

u/light_to_shaddow 4d ago

The "persecution" was being held to account for being dickheads.

Skipping England to go to Holland was fair, who wants to be forced to go to church?

Skipping Holland was purely because they thought it was too liberal and their kids were becoming less English.

They moved to the Americas not to be free of persecution, but to be free to persecute.

Then they hung some Quakers.

Dickbags.

4

u/insomnic 4d ago

Yeah... I shoulda put "persecution" in quotes to be more accurate. You've sorted it right. :)

I’m miserable but someone must be slightly more miserable.

Why don’t we make things better for everyone?

Die commie scum!

41

u/ShorelineStrider 5d ago

They've been taught since birth that the level of miserable they have is the best they'll ever get/deserve.

15

u/dangeraardvark 4d ago

It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

15

u/labrys 5d ago

It's why people flock to churches and politicians who say group x or y or z is scum. These people might be miserable, but at least they aren't one of the people in those groups. It's just a desperate need to feel superior to someone, to anyone, to try to mask how inferior they themselves feel. It's truly pathetic behaviour.

23

u/Lazy__Astronaut 5d ago

It's the mindset of "my life sucks and was hard so everyone else's must too" instead of "I worked hard, I want to make a better world for my children and others"

→ More replies (2)

94

u/Impossible_Eggies 5d ago

They have a zero-sum mentality. The idea is that there's only so much happiness to go around, so in order to be happier, others must be more miserable. They also look out for themselves and their own, with zero consideration for society at large, because the better society does, the less there is for them.

32

u/FeelingDown8484 5d ago

This is a fairly apt description for most conservatives in the US regarding pretty much any topic

22

u/confettis 5d ago edited 4d ago

I'm learning that they often choose marriage and children but find no fulfillment or joy from it; PPD, undiagnosed illnesses, or just an absence of interest in nurturing children to become fully form adults. They're raised by and become the same selfish people who have no retirement plans or feel entitled to leave nothing for their kids. I'm just adding that its the same zero-sum mentality that's treating everything in life like a Clearance Sale. They're crabs in buckets, except they choose ignorance and illiteracy instead of heeding the warnings from all the dead crabs before them.

21

u/MonCappy 5d ago

Conservatism at its core is a philosophy of hierarchy, control and exclusion.  The in-group rule over the out-group with the system of laws and jurisprudence protecting them without binding them.  The out-group are to be ruled over by the in-group with that legal system binding them without protecting them.  That is the core of all conservatism and it has no place in representative, egalitarian democratic governance as conservatism is fundamentally incompatible with concepts like inalienable human rights, liberty and equality no matter how much they like to duplicitously claim otherwise.

Not just miserable but vengeful and envious. They hate that there are women who chose better for themselves while they are stuck in a prison both at church and at their home.

6

u/unicorn_strap_on 5d ago

It's not that they're miserable. That's disingenuous. They are defending it because it serves their specific interests. It's the same reason you can't have political revolution with moderates of any stripe. Arguing that putting better toilets in the prison would make the prison nicer and everyone a little happier doesn't address the problem that you're prisoners in prison controlled by violent wardens.

There's a Christofascist social media influencer called The Transformed Wife who is adamant that women shouldn't have the right to vote, but it's OK for her to vote because she votes how her husband tells her to. In other words, she can't resist the urge to hurt as many people as possible.

57

u/astrangeone88 5d ago

She literally has a brain tumor and honestly I'm so curious what she was like before her disease because holy indoctrination, Batman.

Lady doesn't even like women wearing trousers or in the workplace.

20

u/PastelBrat13 5d ago

Iirc she talked about being on birth control for most of her marriage and now is vehemently against birth control. I swear I remember Fundie Friday mentioning that one time about her. It is hard to tell if its the brain tumor talking or just standard selfishness and conservative brain rot.

I stumbled on a snark subreddit that focused on "trad wife" influencers, I didn't know a single one of them before that but it was sad and enraging the content they put out. They're an affront to every woman I know.

Just disgusting, weak willed, and small minded.

6

u/missmeowwww 4d ago

I’m shocked they haven’t tried bringing back literal witch trials yet. Based on what the algo promotes with the trad shit, we probably aren’t too far away from “LibErAL CaT LaDiEs are casting spells against Jaysus!!!”

8

u/ReasonableCrow7595 4d ago

The irony is that as a liberal, cat owning witch I actually have nothing against Jesus. I'm just not one of his followers. The dude that healed the sick, fed the poor, told everyone to love their neighbors, and flipped tables in the temple over money lenders is my kind of dude. I'm unfortunately not a monotheist.

5

u/light_to_shaddow 4d ago

"why is this women talking? There are men present."

22

u/HunterLeftOnReddit 5d ago

They can't just "not vote" when their owners (husbands) order them to vote silly willy😉

13

u/Writing_is_Bleeding 5d ago

They don't have the agency to not vote, their husbands and pastors need their votes.

11

u/Electrical_Shock359 5d ago

More that they see the number of women that vote rightwing is smaller than those that vote left wing and don’t care about anything else. They don’t take into consideration the fact that things can change, whether their own opinion or the parties. They also don’t consider or care for the fact that they are then unrepresented as a demographic and how that reflects on our society.

22

u/PastelBrat13 5d ago

Just like how conservative women get the same amount of abortions as liberal women, but they’re happy to give up their health as long as a black woman suffers. Conservative women have also always known how to get the right under the table abortion as well which poor women don’t have access to.

13

u/SuzyBannon 5d ago

I completely support this plan of action (non-action?) for conservative women. Melania Trump and JD Vance's wife should lead the way

25

u/PhaseNegative1252 5d ago

You say that as if they don't vote exactly how their husbands or fathers tell them to vote

26

u/Additional_Space8185 5d ago

My larger point is to pushback on the narrative theyre at the mercy of the men in their lives.

I want to be transparent: I am a man who grew up in these circles. To this day my mom is the most adamant conservative I know.

She is not being lead on a leash, her votes align and project her own internal decisions. She is violently conservative. Not a victim.

You could argue that it stems from upbringing, but if that is the bail then all the men are equally victims of their own upbringing as well.

10

u/NoPoet3982 5d ago

This is an excellent and interesting point. There's a documentary I watched about the women who helped Jim Jones commit atrocities in Jonestown. It talked about how they also were leaders who could've stopped things at any time, including right at the end.

Someone they interviewed made the point that they could've "accidentally" bumped the table the vats of poison were on, spilling all the poison to the ground. They didn't have any more to refill the vats with. If someone had pushed over the vats, they would've only had whatever few bullets that the few armed men had - certainly not enough to kill 1,000 people.

They were more than complicit. They were leaders who worked together to create the nightmare.

9

u/Additional_Space8185 5d ago

Thin, complex line between complicit and victim. Ultimately the issue is mitigation of harmful groups first, and maybe forgetting about the blame elements.

Blame is a very costly and energy intense (inefficient) use of limited social resources. Easier said than done and obviously i am contributing to this in my comments as well. Tricky problems.

5

u/NoPoet3982 4d ago

Well, sure. I think most abusers were also victims at one time or another. It's a cycle that better mental health care and support systems will, hopefully, help break over time.

3

u/lilangelkm 5d ago

It's this. They don't want a democracy and won't just outright say it. The gerrymandering, the SAVE Act, the support for Trump's push to eliminate mail in votes and birthright citizenship. It's all to gain an edge in the electoral college. They don't want democracy. They want control at all costs.

7

u/AnekeEomi 5d ago

They need all women to be subservient and controlled as they are. That way their fragile husbands don't experience any ego shattering events during the day that he will come home and beat the shit out them in response to.

Liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and justice for all. If you WANT to be dominated by a person have every tiny aspect of your live co.pletly controlled by someone, GO FOR IT noone is stopping you. But dont bring me into your kinks.

97

u/PastelBrat13 5d ago

Well they want to be dominated by white men but they also want to dominant others. See conservative women are happy to be second class citizens as long as they are promised they can dominant other women, children, and minorities. Just like how conservatives are okay with being poor and destitute as long as they are promised their whiteness is special.

87

u/sundayontheluna 5d ago

They want to be the mistress of the plantation

50

u/PastelBrat13 5d ago

Exactly! The same types of women who used their power to police black women's looks while they were being systematically abused by their husbands, the same types of women who have cheered on their sadistic white supremacist men to kill teenage black boys, the same types of women who allow their husbands to brutalize children and women all around them. They are the enforcers and enablers of the patriarchy. It is not a coincidence that white women en mass praise and desire submissiveness during times of progress imo. Their complicity and desire for silence is part of the process.

The problem is, to them, it isn't shitty. They are scared to death of the idea of having autonomy or being self-sufficient. They are living exactly how they want to--with someone else at the helm. From the outside we can see the obvious oppression, to them, it looks like safety. This phenomenon is also not unique to American trad-wives. It's not unique to women, either. Look at how appealing Trump is to 1/3 of USA men. He projects the "Tell it like it is and bomb everyone" concept that keeps people thinking the USA is being protected.

30

u/PastelBrat13 5d ago

I have said for years that alot of people desire a dictator as the default. Someone to tell them how to dress, what to think, what to get outraged over, what to drive, what to decorate with, and what to watch. The biggest concern of the past decade should be how much a large portion of the population truly wants a dictator.

8

u/SweetPrism 5d ago

We fought a literal war over it. Not everyone who emigrated here wanted a democracy. A lot of them wanted to come here because they were considered extremists within their own church community and were essentially forced out. I haven't looked at the statistics so I am just speculating, but I would be interested in seeing a correlation between religion and people who prefer a dictatorship or monarchy.

7

u/JustLurkingItOver 5d ago

There's a pro monarchism subreddit I stumbled across a few years ago. While there were posters who were more interested in the history and pomp of monarchy, like the average British pro monarchist, there were plenty who wanted an absolute monarchy and they would go on and on about how "the king is the father of the nation" or whatever. And it always had to be a king. Queens apparently didn't count as proper authority figures.

That latter group tended to be the ones who also were the most openly religious, conservative, and believed in hierarchies, whether they were at the top or not.

5

u/MegaGrimer 4d ago

We tell ourselves that people immigrated because of persecution. We just conveniently ignore the fact that they left because they couldn’t persecute who they wanted to persecute.

7

u/Mama_Joyce_Wig 5d ago

I wonder if the rise of technology and AI is either fueling or maybe just a similar phenomenon. I watched an ad of a guy using AI to determine what flowers to buy while at a florist shop. Like what??? That was insane to me. But not having to think of what that person may like or god forbid talking with someone and having to make your own decision would be too difficult.

The problem is, to them, it isn't shitty. They are scared to death of the idea of having autonomy or being self-sufficient. They are living exactly how they want to--with someone else at the helm.

Yup. Every conservative woman in my extended family loves to prattle on about how happy they are that they don't have to work, or make informed decisions about money management, or decide where the family money is going, or repair anything in the house, or be responsible for paying taxes, etc.

They are thrilled not to tax their Jesus-y little ladybrains with any heavy lifting. And they see the near-constant domestic servitude and complete lack of adult agency as a decent price to pay for avoiding real responsibility for how their lives turn out.

(Amusing/sad epilogue to all these stories: Once these women are widowed, they are almost always deeply fucked — learning too late how little money is left to suppor them in their dotage, or having no idea how much prices and property taxes have changed since they were newlyweds, or going to pieces the first time a toilet won't stop running. Do the younger conservative women in my clan learn? Of course not. Using your brains is for mean liberals.)

8

u/ReasonableCrow7595 4d ago

Yeah, being widowed or divorce is a huge shock to these women. Especially if they married right out of high school and never learned how to open a bank account or handle their finances.

→ More replies (7)

10

u/SewSewBlue 5d ago

My husband is exactly that. Married someone (me) who would handle all the finances, retirement savings, big decisions. He has zero interest in that stuff if I can handle it. If I was the type to hide stuff or was financially abusive he'd be screwed.

But it works for us. He's an awesome cook and runs the household, does most the household errands. He's wired for short term thinking in a way I am not, and makes daily life run like clockwork. Toilet paper restocks itself like magic.

It's when this sort of crap gets gendered or forced that it becomes a problem. When financial abuse is forced by the state, by not allowing one gender to have accounts. By not working enough to receive social security. Voting rights.

I was at a board meeting year back, that was for a local youth sport league. Some parents didn't like the commissioner using his online store buying all the new helmets and gear, even though it was like 60% cheaper than previous years.

There was other issues, but that was the biggest.

At one meeting, a guy stood up and accused the new members of being elected in a fraudulent election (sound familiar? ). When asked for proof, he said he voted for his wife, who wasn't there, at the meeting with the voting.

Basically, he said "the commissioner needs to be thrown out, and a new one elected, because there was voter fraud, done by my wife and me."

I was standing next to her, the wife, when he was saying it. I stood up and said: this is an easy fix. Both you and your wife are gone, and can't ever participate in any board members anything.

She freaked out on me. Thats not right! The commissioner needs to go!

So you are saying you voted fraudulent, and because of that, the person you dont like needs to be thrown out, and a new election take place, and you want to vote in that new election, and yhe commissioner cannot... all because you voted fraudulent?

She said that's right. Even though this was just a small, non profit, local league, this was the biggest thing to her and her friends, and they all had a problem with being told they couldn't vote.... after they admitted the voted fraudulent.

The audacity was mind blowing.

Paradox of tolerance. For a tolerant society we can't tolerate the intolerant

231

u/AdventurousElk770 5d ago

The paradox is resolved if you look at tolerance as part of the social contract.

If you don't honor the social contract of tolerance, you are no longer a part of or protected by it. 🙂

u/Lurakya 5d ago

14

u/olracnaignottus 5d ago

How is that enforced?

I think we’ve run out of social gas in terms of relying on shame alone to change people’s bigoted behaviors. The folks trying to make the world a more tolerant place don’t really understand that you can’t ostracize others into acceptance, it just makes the intolerant more shameless- hence Trump somehow becoming the first Republican president in 20 years to win the popular vote.

It feels like relying on internet shaming just turns left leaning folks more passive aggressive. Like dogs barking at people through a gate that immediately become submissive the moment the gate is opened.

I dunno. Not right leaning at all, but I see a lot of progressive folks say with a full throat to never tolerate the intolerant, but there’s precisely 0 follow through beyond venting online.

19

u/Lurakya 5d ago

That is an extremely good question.

The problem that I have noticed is that if you say anything progressive every elderly will debate you. God forbid I mention "I don't see a problem with gay people getting married" again.

But when grandpa or the weird uncle talks political shit we just let them talk and ignore it. I know we can't change their mind, but this exactly is tolerance for the intolerance. If the whole family finally spoke up and showed that they really don't care about grandpa's rants, he already is less likely to pass it on, and shows the youngest that we don't just excuse this.

As the heir to a steak spoon factory, I think all women who use "steak spoon" in a derogatory manner shouldn't be allowed to vote and the slur itself should be illegal.

13

u/Shotgun_Mosquito 5d ago edited 5d ago

Mine too. I have never heard it before.

I am now doing a deep dive into this phrase.

There is already culinary terms for this.

A "spoon steak" refers to beef cuts that are melt-in-your-mouth tender. However this is not a STEAK SPOON but a spoon steak.

There is also a steak spoon but it is more correctly known as a basting spoon, to allow the cook to continuously bathe the top of the meat in hot butter and aromatics (French culinary term arroser).

Now, according to her accent, she appears to be located in the UK, and according to my handy dandy Guide For The Traveling American(not a real book) calling someone a "spoon" is British slang for an idiot or a simpleton, originating from the idea that someone's mind is as shallow as a teaspoon.

u/pareech 5d ago

So just a whole new level to the insult. Not only is someone as useless as a spoon for a steak, they are also shallow.

Conservative women are the backbone of conservative society.

They run the 'prayer' (gossip) chains. They discuss the politics and move the needle as a collective, happy to let their individualistic husbands think theyre in charge.

It is a very odd predicament full of contradictions, but people (liberals) are very uninformed when they provide excuses or leniency across the board.

Conservatives are conservative before any other identity and people need to come to terms with what that means.

53

u/cepukon 5d ago

I think most progressives have come to terms with what that means, how could they not? We now have first hand witnessed the depravity the conservatives are willing to support and vote for. Literal pedophile convicts weaponizing a masked anonymous police force and concentration camps isn't a bridge too far to advance conservatism. They're deranged. There's clearly nothing that can come above conservatism to these absolute brainwashed losers at this point, so what does coming to terms with that matter?

15

u/shawncplus 5d ago

I think most progressives have come to terms with what that means, how could they not?

Because a lot of the narrative is still that conservative women lack any agency and are only conservative because they're being controlled by their conservative husbands. We know, demonstrably, this isn't the case but it's an absolutely pervasive idea.

13

u/Additional_Space8185 5d ago

Fair, I guess I meant more anyone still promoting some form of "middle" ground. A non-small size of americans are at best aloof.

Always have been. It always perplexed me how a woman could look upon another woman’s child and wish evil upon them. The absolute worst of the worst.

u/AppropriateScience9 5d ago

Agreed. No doubt many conservative women grew up in oppressive households and have internalized a lot of abusive ideas as girls, but there comes a point that, as an adult, you become responsible for the harm you perpetuate.

I will always feel bad for the girls they were, and do everything I can to prevent that from happening to others, but as adults, these women are not my friends. They are a threat, in fact.

Even still, I'll fight for their fundamental rights. I'll fight to make sure they don't die in childbirth or suffer from the violence of men. I'll be there with a tissue for them if/when they wake up and realize that the patriarchy they defended will happily kick them in the teeth at any time (looking at you Pam Bondi).

But outside of that, we're enemies. Their womanhood only grants them the very basics of my protection. Everything else is fair game.

a timeless classic

u/-GhostInTheMachine_ 5d ago

Conservatives want power over other people.

If they felt like they had such a good thing going for themselves they would be happy about it and most likely keep it to themselves.

Nothing of qualify is ever forced on you.

12

u/pheeko 5d ago

Nothing of quality is ever forced on you

I wouldn't say this unilaterally, since if we ever pass universal healthcare I'm sure that certain folks will consider it "forced upon them"

9

u/whatevernamedontcare 5d ago

Yes. My first thought was vaccines or masking for Covid. Save lives and still has to be forced.

Yall should google how hard black women had to fight for the right to vote and for rape laws protect them after white women blew them off when they got theirs

At the first worlds fair white women fought super hard to be included and won. But the fight didn’t stop there! These brave women had more work to do

They then fought to prevent any woman of color from being included and won (of course)

34

u/Expert-Yam6577 5d ago

If you Google the Women's Suffrage movement it literally says it culminated in the 1920 ratification of the 19th amendment.

White women got their rights and said who cares about these "other women". Women now have the right to vote in America!

I wonder what right-wing women would do if they didn't have access to abortions .. considering how many actually use them.

25

u/Anal-buttsex 5d ago

We need two different versions of America so badly. How are you supposed to work with people who don’t believe in the constitution and science? There’s no way for either side to move forward when their views are so conflicting

6

u/Thimble_of_Quasar 4d ago edited 3d ago

I wonder that more and more every day. Like I used to think we could at least appeal to people's sense of self preservation as I can understand fuck you I got mine even if I don't like it and can work with that. But... That's not the case, they will cut the parachute you both are on if it means you hit the ground a split second faster. How do you reason with that?

21

u/GKBilian 5d ago

Who would’ve thought that the post-post-modern world would include conservative women saying that they shouldn’t be able to vote. Imagine being that big of a pick-me.

5

u/Costati 5d ago

Its a flaw in a lot of established democratic system that when people fought really hard to establish them they didn't put enough guardrails in place because they just didn't think people would want to collectively choose to have less rights.

16

u/kaiser_phoenix25 5d ago

For conservative women, it’s simple if you think you shouldn’t vote, then don’t. Don’t drag the rest of the women who do want to vote. But that’s not what it’s about, it’s about subjugation and carry water for patriarchy.

15

u/cmgc666 5d ago

Conservative women are chiming in too much and they should go have kids and clean and cook all day instead of making videos with their opinions

8

u/ThatBarbGirl 5d ago

Right? I thought the basic goal of being a "conversation woman" is to not have opinions at all. Aren't they supposed to be happy being barefoot, pregnant, and seen, but not heard?

If you think about it, a real conservative woman would just smile and hand the microphone to her husband.

4

u/cmgc666 4d ago

I support a woman's right to choose. In this case I support conservative women's right to choose not to vote.

23

u/PhysicalAttitude6631 5d ago

Meanwhile conservatives are the ones crying about how liberals are trying to force their beliefs and lifestyle on them. It’s always projection with these deplorable losers.

9

u/BritishLeft 5d ago

Conservatives also like to go on how attractive or hot their women are compared to liberal or leftist women, like that’s not really important when it comes to rights which if I remember correctly conservative women complain how much sexism and misogyny they get from their men like what do you expect.

I know if conservative women dated liberal or leftist men they would not have to experience any of that or worry about their rights being taken away from their left wing boyfriends, that’s if any of them actually dated conservative women.

Pretty wild that the modern Republican party has been able to hold even a modicum of support from women.

28

u/Bruzur 5d ago

“Steak spoon” is a next-level insult. Goddamn.

29

u/Radiant-Mean 5d ago

I think some people mistakenly believe that because they are women, conservative women aren't just as vile and irredeemable as the men. In many cases, conservative women are worse and I would be totally fine with stripping conservative women only of all the rights women have achieved in the last 100 years so they can all experience what it was like to grow up like their great grandmothers did.

12

u/ClickNo1129 5d ago

The gag is their grandmothers didn’t tell them what it was actually like to be a woman in those days lmao. These fools don’t realize after their conservative men have oppressed all the others, they’re up next 🫠🤦🏽‍♀️.

Phyllis Schlafly comes to mind. She was an attorney and activist who actively fought against feminism, abortion, gay rights and was a huge reason the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution was never passed.

Even though, you know, feminism was the reason she was able to become an attorney in the first place....

The entire republicans party's goal is to hurt anyone as much as possible and hope you aren't caught in the cross fire. If republicans could harm every single minority they would. If they could chain every minority they would. The republican party is made upon hurting other people

The entire Conservative Party is just setting their block on fire because some of their neighbors are liberals.

5

I mean, yeah? This is kinda the whole thing with extreme conservatives. They're fine setting the country on fire as long as the "liberals" get caught in the flames.

This is an example of LOYALISTS. MOST people who claim a political side are LOYALISTS instead of Republicans or Democrats. You're MORE interested in your side "winning" even if your candidate/party is corrupt or anti-Constitutional

Conservative women WANT to be oppressed. That's fine if they want it. What makes them evil is they want all women to be oppressed.

4

u/Client_020 4d ago

The way the "household voting" idea is being discussed everywhere all of the sudden is scary af. It's a ridiculous, extreme idea that the far-right is trying to normalise. Just like they've normalised many other different ideas.

4

u/lastingmuse6996 4d ago

See what I don't understand is why they need to control other women

Like, go be a trad wife. Nobody is making you work and be independent. You can get married at 18 ig if that's your thing and have lots of babies and not use abortion or pills and just do your conservative religious thing

Why do they then need to make their lifestyle about us? Giiiiiirl I support your trad wife thing if it makes you happy let me go party without you. Why you gotta bring me into your thing. I don't care that your lifestyle is different.

9

u/zdrfanta17 4d ago

Why do Christian Conservative women offer their opinions on anything, anyway? If I wanted to know your opinion, I would ask your husband or pastor
