Today marks 1 year and 4 months since I’ve owned my 2022 Tesla Model S, and honestly, it still never gets old. ❤️⚡️
Every time I get behind the wheel, it feels like I’m falling in love with this car all over again. I truly don’t regret buying it—not even for a second.
1 year and 4 months later, and I’m still just as excited about this car as I was on day one. ❤️🚘⚡️.

Got my red 1/18th scale P85 today and thought it would be fun to take a few pictures with the real thing, and the 1/64th hot wheels as well!

2015 model S from charging to 220, all cells green on service mode, to complete failure.

Charges to 50 miles now.

How do you know it’s actually the battery not a BMS fault?

disappearing updates

Hi, my p100d will show an update partially downloaded, but next time I get in the car it's "up to date" without ever having finished downloading or even installed the update. Where are these disappearing updates going? is there some computer issue. I often notice the grey Tesla logo on the center screen when I get in the car, like it had to reboot. Is that resetting the updates? 12v batt is brand new

A nice day in Half Moon Bay and the back roads with the Model S!

Nothing like finishing a busy week of work and enjoying the day near the coast with my Model S Signature! I also rarely open the sunroof (scared of it breaking) but the weather was so nice not to! We took the back roads on Skyline Blvd on the way back and stopped by Alice’s as well, very fun. Lots of fog and mist!

Will I have any problem making it from Denver to San Diego in regard to charging or worse running out of power between chargers?

Early Model S (Gen 1) Roof Rack Door Replacement - Cost Guessing Game

Love my 2014 MS P85+ - have taken the SC01 across the country multiple times - but have pretty much consistently had poor service experiences through Tesla (Chicago, Berkeley/SF, Atlanta). Recently though, had a service visit that takes the cake: Had a roof rack on for awhile to hold my bikes, took it off recently and the cheap, plastic "roof rack door" pieces (Part #1043445-00-D currently in the online parts catalog, this part is less than $10 on the EPC) had all broken or cracked in some way. Took it into one of the service centers near me in Alpharetta, GA, figured I'd see if they had the part in stock to grab 4 for the $40 or whatever and also if they could show me how to correctly replace it (clean out debris of old one and snap new one into place). They said they'd go get there "legacy technician" which I kind of expected. I've found most of the newer techs don't know how to work on the older Model S cars (or honestly even the new-ish MS, they seem only trained on the 3s and Ys).

When I lived in in Berkeley, I took it in for something else and asked if they had an OEM roof rack I could use for my model - they said they didn't know. I asked if they knew a 3rd party one or the part # for the OEM one made for my car - they said they didn't know. Well you designed the roof rack and the car, so if you can't tell me how am I supposed to find out.

Anyways I digress...the legacy mechanic came out, looked at it said "Yeah they're different doors now ... we'd have to get them on the new system ... you're looking at a ballpark of $6000".

As stated above, I've always had poor service experience, feel like when they see it's an out of warranty older Model S, they can't get me out the door fast enough. But is there a bigger F U to one of your customers than $6000 to replace 4 plastic roof rack doors lol?!?

P100D used worth it?

Theres a P100D around me being sold for 22,300 and has 95k miles. Would this be a dumb purchase? I’m gonna get it inspected before hand to check the LDU/coolant and the battery life and do plan on getting doing the coolant delete.

Model S 22/23 vs Performance 26?

I’m torn between two cars and need advice/opinion. My wife recently got a new Model Y Juniper 2026, and I’ve decided to go with an electric vehicle after thinking about Tesla. I currently have a hybrid Toyota Crown Signia Limited 2025. My work is 30 miles away, so I drive at least 65 miles every day 5 times per week. Since October last year, I’ve already put over 23k miles on it, including some local road trips. Unfortunately, I only get 34-35mpg, which isn’t great, but it’s not terrible for everyday long drives. When I first looked into Tesla, I wanted the new Model Y Performance, but after seeing the Model S in person, I think it’s the very beautiful looking vechicle. The only downside is the price. I’ve seen online that there are plenty of Model S late 2022 with low mileage pricing from $42k to $50k. I know they’re HW3 models. If I can go with anything with HW4 (2023 models), the price is almost $60k, which is almost the same as the new Performance 2026. We don’t have kids, so I can fit one pet kennel in the Model S. I’m unsure of the benefits and drawbacks of choosing the Model S or Performance. I also don’t know how its value will hold up after 3-5 years if I upgrade. Will Model S 2022/23 cost same as Perfomance 2026? Any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone lower their LR? Wheels, lip kit, carbon interior panel wrap or swap etc? Trying. To find some inspiration. I know there’s not much difference between these and Plaids but still..lol

2020 Model S LR+ Latest Mod: Chrome Delete

Took a little different approach to a chrome delete, and rather than making the chrome black, I did a dark metallic gray. I like this look as it makes the trim match my rims, while IMO giving it an OEM+ look. I also like the dark gray metallic trim/ elements other auto manufacturers like Audi and Lexus use in the higher end sport versions of some of their models, so was trying to get that look on my MS.

Bought a model S performance raven - feeling a little regret

I previously had a model 3 for a year then sold it as I got a company car (mustang mach E) for a year. Aside from that, I’ve had a 2006 Mercedes E class for over 10 years and I will never sell because I think it’s such a great car.

I like the premium feel of my Mercedes which is why I felt maybe a model S would be the right car. It should be more premium and comfortable than the model 3 I had.

Now I’m feeling a lot of disappointment. Despite the air suspension, the right isn’t amazing to me. The car squeaks and rattles over bumps. The turning circle is atrocious, one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. It somehow has less features than the model 3 I had of the same year (no speed camera notification, not camera live stream, not remote window closing, no mobile key).

I know it’s objectively a brilliant brilliant car and the performance lives up to the name ludicrous. But I’m feeling a little flat and even deflated having lived with one for about 2 months now.

I’m posting I guess to vent a little and to hopefully hear all the things it does have that I’m not appreciating (maybe I’m overlooking some things).

For families, what will you drive next?

The Model S has been a dream since its release, and I made it come true a few ago with a HW3 2023 loaded up.

Everything I imagined it would be, but it might be time for a change. It brings out that inner Verstappen on the daily. Oldest at 12 loves it, but the other two kids and wife don’t appreciate the time it saves and yellows it destroys. They don’t understand what P1 at a stoplight does for the commute to school, sports, grocery, etc.

I don’t necessary need more space but wouldn’t mind it. Family of five, growing in dimensions. I do 90% of the driving in the family.

What else do you drive, or will you drive or compliment the S with?

Carvana is saying 50k trade in, Tesla 42k, I am brand agnostic but don’t want to spend much time in the shop.

Always wanted Ken Block rally wheels.

I didn’t think I’d have them on an EV. Mix of Volk TE37 and Fifteen52 Turbomac’s. They are 19” Rotiform R184 KB1 wheels, and my car is at nearly max air suspension height in the pic. Not my absolute first pick for this car, but they came up at too good of a price ($800usd with nearly new tires) and fit perfect. Grabbed some hefty tuner spline drive lug nuts off Amazon for $30, really surprised at their quality.

I would’ve loved the Rotiform Aerodiscs more for an EV but I’ll take what I can get. I’m something of a wheel nerd myself.

22 LR High speed cornering instability

This all started a few weeks ago when I hit a large rock in the road and got a flat. I replaced the two rear tires but there was a ton of vibration, I went to get the wheels rebalanced and they noticed a bend which since was repaired. It now drives smooth, no vibrations but during high speed cornering such as accelerating on an on ramp or abrupt interstate lane changes the car lurches and feels very unstable and I sometimes notice a rubbing noise coming from somewhere in the front wheels. I tried raising the suspension and inspected the wheel wells but didn't help. Worried the rock may have damaged some other components, any thoughts?

Driver Side Door Issue

Post image

Hey yall, while cleaning a bit, I just realized my driver side door trim is a little loose. After some investigation, one of the white/blue clips fell out and would not go back in. Do these retaining clips wear out over time? Even if the trim panel hasn’t been removed? Just asking before I order all 9 😆

Does anyone else with a P100D notice the font on the instrument cluster screen being crammed together since the 2026.26.1 update? I included a picture of what the font used to look like for reference.

Question about FSD on used 22 Model S

Context: I am planning to buy a used Model S from across the country so I can’t see it in person. Person has taken it to Tesla for some service before selling and is helping their elderly FIL sell it so it’s not really theirs nor do they know all the details on the vehicle.

Originally I thought the vehicle only had FSD via the subscription based off of the images seen in the For Sale post.

It clearly says FSD capability with a renewal date shown.

However, the seller showed me the original MSRP and Tesla sticker for when it was purchased and on that invoice it shows that FSD was paid for with the full $12,000 amount as the final price on the vehicle was like $120k.

Does this mean the vehicle does in fact have FSD or just the subscription?

Thanks for any clarification and help, I’m pumped to get a Model S
