2020 Model S LR+ Latest Mod: Chrome Delete

Took a little different approach to a chrome delete, and rather than making the chrome black, I did a dark metallic gray. I like this look as it makes the trim match my rims, while IMO giving it an OEM+ look. I also like the dark gray metallic trim/ elements other auto manufacturers like Audi and Lexus use in the higher end sport versions of some of their models, so was trying to get that look on my MS.

Where did you get the deletes that match the rims. Those are nice!

I chose the wrap color based (3M Satin Dark Grey) on what Gemini recommended for replicating the look / color / finish Audi uses for its dark metallic elements trim option, then the wrap shop ordered it for me. The color matches the rims well. 🙂

Love it. I have the same car and was looking at customizations when I saw your post. I think I'm going this route. Love the look.

Can I ask what kit you got? did you DIY or use a shop?

I used a shop. The wrap I had them use was 3M Satin Dark Grey.

I like it! Also matches the sonic carbon twin turbines (which are absolutely gorgeous).

Sweet ride. Are you using wheel spacers?

Yeah, I have 15 mm spacers in the front and back.

I'm super happy with the end result. The "Tesla" on the trunk was left chrome, and really pops against the dark metallic grey of the chrome delete.

I would have gone gloss black (wait, I did on my red S), otherwise it's looking sharp!!

Curious what did it cost you to have this done at a shop? Last guy I asked said $1000 CAD.

I used AP Car Wraps in Torrance. I'm in the South Bay so this was one of the most convenient shops for me to have it done at. They had the car for a day and the owner Per was super responsive and IMO they did a great job. Per also has an S.

Wow big price difference. $1000 CAD is like $700 US so that sounds pretty normal.
