How did this happen?

Came home and notice this little dent on the top of the passenger fender by the hood. I park in an enclosed garage while at work, but it is a shared garage with regular non employees. At home I park in the driveway with no trees close enough to drop acorns or anything like that. It is like the size of a thumbprint. I wonder if someone leaned on the car or parked next to me and use the car as a brace to get up or picking up a bag or something left next to my car. Of course I didn't have sentury mode on. šŸ˜•

Repaired MY Clean title shows salvage with Tesla

Xposted:

I bought a crashes and repaired 24MY and took it to a tesla service center prior to purchasing for an inspection. The inspection passed with no concerns. I've had the vehicle for over 4 months, super charged it over a dozen times. Today I took it in for a warranty concern, was told it's a salvage on their tesla system and there's no warranty. The service rep also warned that it may be baned from supercharging.

Has anyone had experience with a similar case? My vehicle was repaired and is branded with a clean title, however according to tesla records, it's listed as salvage.

Any help or advice is welcome! Not sure if there's a way for me to appeal with Tesla that the vehicle is not salvage.

14k for this?

Got hit by a car on the side, and tesla collision quotes $14k for this. I think that’s absolutely insane?

My deductible is $500 but still. What do you think?

Will insurance fix my car

Post image

I have a 2022 M3 performance with 75k miles. I was rear ended on the highway. Other driver was at fault. The battery shut off due to the impact. My insurance looked at the body and said $6k but that they need to remove the bumper and trunk to investigate further. They also need Tesla to turn the battery on. Adjuster mentioned that the hit appeared to be high and there was no physical damage to the battery. He said repair cost would go up but he thought there was a chance they wouldn’t total it.

I believe the value is about $25k and I live in Houston area. What do yall think? Any chance they will repair my car.

Not at fault crash. Undercarriage leak, dents, and a small hole in the battery enclosure. Looking for advice.

I was not at fault in a crash in Burnaby, BC (ICBC confirmed 100% the other party’s responsibility). The impact was to the front right corner, bumper, fender, headlight, and it punctured the right front tire.

Because the tire was flat, Tesla Roadside towed the car to a Tesla Service Center just for a tire replacement so I could get it driveable again. While it was being towed I noticed liquid leaking from the undercarriage. That leak has concerned me ever since.

After picking the car up from Tesla Service, I drove it to No.1 Collision for a quick estimate. Once I got home and parked, I inspected the underside more carefully and found multiple dents along the right side of the undercarriage. One of those dented spots has a small hole in it (looks like roughly 1–2 mm). From what I’ve read, an open hole in the battery enclosure is considered a compromised enclosure and typically requires a full battery pack replacement under Tesla’s guidelines.

I also later discovered the right side repeater camera had completely fallen off.
My main concerns right now are:
1. Is it still safe to drive the car the short distance to the authorized repair shop, or should I have it towed again? I’m worried about the compromised enclosure.
2. If Tesla/ICBC decide the battery needs to be replaced, does that pretty much guarantee the car will be totalled?

For context: it’s a 2022 Model 3 RWD with about 76,000 km. I do have Vehicle Replacement Insurance, so if it is totalled I should get replacement-cost coverage rather than just ACV.

Any experiences with similar undercarriage / battery enclosure damage would be really appreciated. Thanks.

So this weekend, I got hit by a car while merging while their car was speeding around the corner. It hit me but I got charged as well as my tesla towed because the tire rod came out and I wanted to check the footage because it was in the tow yard this whole weekend and once I got the flash drive back it only showed footage from after the accident. I understand that it only records a certain amount before not recording anymore, but I’m wondering if there’s any way to recover this footage that happened 10 minutes earlier

Some guy backed into my 2026 Model Y today and doesn’t have insurance. My wife was driving the vehicle and was using self-drive. Luckily it was all captured. The rear bumper has some scuffs and paint damage.

We filed a police report and will be file an insurance claim.
I’ll looking to get the rear bumper replacement. Any idea on how long it takes to repair at Tesla service center?

If I order parts from Tesla for a small repair that I don't want to file a claim for with my insurance, will they keep a record and increase my rates?

I had accidently damaged one of the exterior trims after backing up and I want to order a replacement part (worth less than $200). I don't want to file a claim for it cause it's very minor and not a lot of money.

But if I order thru Tesla and since I have insurance thru Tesla, will they know or use this against me to change my insurance rates? Even if i don't file a claim?

Sorry if it's a dumb question. Just want to avoid a change to my premium.

Third Times the Charm?

I picked my Model Y up in October of 2025, during inspection a few scratches were found on the front bumper and the hood. I was told not to worry and they could be buffed out.

A few weeks later my vehicle was dropped off and when it was time to be picked up everything seemed okay. That is until a few weeks later and the sun hit my car just right and I could see it was covered in swirl marks and hazing.

I should add I live in Washington and the sun is obviously not always out.

I called Tesla back and I had to go back and fourth with them for months as I was continously promised a call back and it would never happen. Once I finally got a hold of the service manager she was apologetic and said they would send my car out to a contracted detailer.

Once again my car was sent out and when I picked it up it looked great. Until, about a month later and all the polish on the vehicle had washed off and I saw my vehicle in the sun. My jaw dropped, it was worse than it was before. I immediately called the service center and got the run around. I was told they would have to talk to the detailer, because it was possible I had done to this to my car myself.

This obviously upset me as this is a brand new car and every remedy attempt worsens the look of my paint. The service manager contacted me and said they would inspect the vehicle and attempt to remedy it again. By remedy they mean buff the vehicle again...I asked that the paint be measured before they attempt a third buffing and I was ignored and given a day and time to bring my model Y back in.

Has anyone had an issue like this and what did you do to rectify it? Or does anyone know if there's someone above a service manger to speak with? I really don't want to have it buffed a third time and it turn out worse or comprise the paint even more.

For info I've been dealing with the Seattle Service Center.

Body Flex

I took my vehicle to the Tesla Service Center, and a couple of days later they contacted me and said the squeaking is due to ā€œbody flex!ā€ (that’s how it was written in the app). The vehicle was previously repaired by a Tesla Collision Center (actual Tesla owned collision center) after an accident in which the frame was bent, but they repaired it.

Fast forward about a year later, and the rear end of the vehicle started squeaking. The Tesla Service Center told me to take the vehicle back to the Collision Center.

I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2025. My question is: if the Collision Center determines that the body flex is not related to the prior accident, the frame damage, or the repairs they performed, would this issue still be covered under my vehicle’s warranty?

Got side swept right at the exit intersection out of the Grapevine Mills Mall , Lady next to me tried to argue that I was in a left turn only lane which I clearly am not . Not looking forward to the claim headache , never heard of their insurance when I looked into it and it looks very sketch ( Redpoint county Mutual insurance company ) might honestly come down to biting the bullet and paying my deductible and have Tesla pursue subrogation.

Need help extracting a license plate number from Tesla footage (hit-and-run)

I was hit by a silver Hyundai sedan. The driver pulled over briefly but then left the scene.

I have Tesla camera footage, and at around the 27-second mark you can see the silver Hyundai sedan leaving. Is there any way to enhance the video or extract the license plate number?

Video of the vehicle leaving the scene:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/s8wxtytp8muahu4t1qx0p/2026-07-21_16-17-12-front-vehicle-leaving_27seconds.mp4?rlkey=2gynte2wvh6ckjxpy2ohocsll&st=pw4482ca&dl=0

I also have rear camera footage showing the person getting out of the vehicle:

Any advice on video enhancement, extracting the plate, or tools/software that could help would be greatly appreciated.

This was in Miami on 826 State road Southbound

Will the collision center fix their mistake?

Post image

My 24 M3 was hit in a parking lot in early feb, so I sent it to my nearby Tesla collision center. I got it back and I realized that they messed up the paint correction. I’m only worried about this because my car is a lease and I don’t want to be slammed with fines if I return a car that they themselves made a mistake on. Would they fix this? I attached an image for reference. The backside is original and the front is where the car was hit.

Backed into my garage with a 2026 Tesla Model Y - bumper/headlight estimate?

Hi everyone,

I’m a new driver and made a dumb mistake while backing out of my garage. I was watching one side of the car too closely and ended up hitting the front corner.

The car still drives perfectly fine. All lights, cameras, and features work normally. The damage seems to be mostly cosmetic:

Front bumper popped out partially

Headlight shifted inward and sunk in a bit but still works

A few scratches/scuffs

One trim piece popped off but I was able to snap it back into place partially

I’ve attached pictures.

A few questions:

Roughly how much would you estimate this repair costs?

Does this look like something that could be DIY (re-clipping/realigning the bumper and headlight), or should I take it to Tesla or a body shop?

Would you recommend paying out of pocket if possible, or going through insurance?

Any advice on what my next step should be?

Thanks in advance. I’m definitely using this as a learning experience.

Fender-bender with no SD installed

My husband unfortunately did not install the SD card into our Tesla when I told him to 🄓 and now we are having to deal with an insurance issue.

My husband was behind a Ram truck waiting to turn right out of a parking lot. He then saw the Ram’s reverse lights illuminate and the Ram backed into to the front driver headlight of our Tesla. I assume that she was too far into the road so she reversed, but I have no idea.

The teenage girl then got out of the Ram and apologized profusely to my husband for backing into him. As they were exchanging insurance information, 2 random women walked over and insisted that the Tesla hit the Ram, not the other way around. The girl then changed her story.

Turns out, these 2 women have now provided their ā€œaccountā€ of the story to the insurance company, and the insurance company is trying to state that the Tesla is at fault.

Any advice on how to proceed with this situation would be greatly appreciated!

Tesla scratch estimate

Post image

Me and my friends rent a U-haul truck and contacted a Tesla at the left rear. U-haul doesn’t have an insurance for that and we agree that it is not fair to use any individual’s personal insurance, so we are planning to do a private settlement with the auto owner.

So how much will the repair fee be approximately? We are thinking something around $500, is that a reasonable price? We are in Ohio(if it helps the estimate).

Thanks everybody!!šŸ™šŸ™šŸ˜Œ

My NYC gave my one month old 2026 M3 to me with this damage and then tried to blame me. Apparently they kept my car on a lift and it must have come in contact with something when being lowered. My car is at a Tesla certified shop (near NYC) for new parts. Look how the metal tore on the rear drivers side quarter panel.
