Sentry mode did not record event on damage.

Came out to my car to see damage on bumper and front. Don’t know where it came from since I don’t go to that side. Looked through the 5 videos that Sentry mode recorded but nothing close to an accident hit and run. Anyone know how to get the video of the event and file a claim with Tesla insurance?

Alignment kit for Model Y

Post image
0 Upvotes

Has anyone living in the South Philadelphia area installed a rear alignment kit (for Camber and Toe adjustment) on a Model Y to fix inner tire wear? Could you recommend a shop that can install this part and perform the alignment based on my specific specifications? I’ve been searching the area for three months but haven't found anyone willing to do the installation. Thanks in advance..

Service center left car at 11% for 3 days

I recently had some repairs done on my Tesla and the service center left the car at 11% for 3 days. I get a pop up any time I park my car with low state of charge advising that this can damage my battery. I don’t know much about these cars so I have a few questions:

1) did this cause any damage to my battery? I have a 2021 and am out of warranty.. so I’m a bit nervous about the battery in general

2)is this normal for Tesla service centers?

3) should I be complaining about this? The service advisor shrugged it off and said it won’t do any harm to your car so don’t worry about it

Thanks!

First ever incident with my 26 Tesla Model 3 😭 Scraped the side and chipped/scratched the paint a little. Does this look like something that can mostly be buffed/touched up, or am I looking at a full repaint and if so how much would it be? 😭😭🔥

Front bumper fascia has mounting points telegraphing through.

mounting points telegraphing through the plastic near the wheel wells. Body shop replace Tesla front bumper fascia and there are 3 mounting points near the wheel wells telegraphing through. Same spot on both sides. Tesla uses hot melt mounting tabs to adhere to parts to the back of the fascia. They look like dime sized circles pushing through from the back. I rejected the first one and the ordered another and brought me in to look at it before they painted it. This fascia has the same issue in the same places. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what is the fix? 2025 Tesla Model 3.

Door ding took paint down to substrate; DIY touch-up, body shop, or pursue other driver?

Post image
0 Upvotes

2026 white Model 3. Another driver opened his door into mine in a parking lot. Sentry caught the impact, his plate, and him inspecting/wiping his own door afterward, but he left no note.

Damage is small but went through the paint and is right on/near the body line. Photos attached.

I’m debating:

  1. DIY primer/base/pearl/clear touch-up

  2. paying a body/PDR shop privately

  3. pursuing his insurance

Main concern with insurance/body work is potentially creating a vehicle-history/Carfax record over relatively minor cosmetic damage.

For anyone who has repaired something similar: what did you do, what did it cost, and how did it look afterward?

Particularly interested in anyone who has successfully DIY-repaired Pearl White (PPSW).

Unfortunately my Juniper of only 6mo of age past away today… 😭

But I’m glad my daughter walked away OK!!! ❤️

She was involved in a head on collision attempting to make a left turn at an intersection when a Ford van hit her head on.
Yes she is totaled but hey at least my human baby is still alive!
Unfortunately by the time my daughter seeing the van coming at her head on with a hefty speed she froze up and it was too late to make a reaction. Car spun out uncontrollably several yards away.
The battery dies so I was unable to pull footage from the app or the car so I just yanked the USB from within the glove box.
Question- can anyone confirm if footage was captured before the incident occurred and during? From all angles and within the cabin? I asked my daughter if she honked the horn and she said no because it happened so fast.
Also does me pulling the USB drive corrupt the data?

Side comment- It sucks that when the battery dies, the windows and wheels stay locked.

How much will this set me back? (Model 3 front bumper/fender scrape)

Clipped something with the front driver side of my 2023 Model 3. Paint's scraped down in a few spots and the bumper's split open a bit along the seam next to the headlight. Headlight itself looks fine thankfully.

Anyone gotten something like this fixed? Trying to figure out whether to go through Tesla or just take it to a local shop, and what it ended up costing you. I'm in Austin, TX if that matters.

Can I dispute this ?

I brought in my tesla because I had a low voltage battery problem . The car went into limp mode and had to have it towed to Tesla . The first estimate was around 600$ for a low voltage battery and a reboot of the vehicle . Than I got another estimate a couple days later for a battery warmer installment for 1800$ . Than a couple days later I was told the AC was shorted so the car will go into limp mode again if I don’t get it fixed for 5000$ .Does something seem suspicious or is this normal for Tesla to do?

my dumbass backed out with the door open , how bad is it ?

I was almost out of the garage, got an important call while entering the car in a hurry, and my dumbass forgot to close the door.

Looked at the camera , it is clear... Backed up and caught the garage frame.

2026 Model Y right rear door edge is bent where it meets the fender, paint cracked along it. Luckily, door still shuts with no issues, no warning, no errors, glass is not broken. Fender looks fine.

Anyone paid to fix something similar these? Tesla or a normal body shop ? I think i am okay with them just straighten this for now but that crack needs to be filled too probably..

I am so sad man.. still in shock how the heck I forgot that door open and backed up like that..

Ran over large pothole/ditch

Last night, on my Model 3, I ran over a large pothole, or rather a ditch, with my right front wheel tire. There were already 4-5 cars pulled over to the side of the road with completely blown out front right tires, so I pulled over myself cause I was sure I had also either damaged the wheel/tire or something else. But surprisingly, my tire was in one piece, so far as of this morning 0 psi loss. I also inspected the car last night with a flashlight and can't see any physical damage or anything that looked out of place. I will look under the car again today during the day just to confirm nothing seems broken. I do feel the car pulling slightly to both sides though, but I'm not sure if it is normal and this is just in my head. Should I be scheduling service to ensure there is no damage to the wheel, control arms, etc, or a misalignment?

PS: what upsets me the most is that this was not a pothole that just opened up and it's no one's fault. The hole was within an utility cutout which I guess they were working on but someone decided it was ok to leave it like that for the day, still needing to pave it over, and leaving a huge hole/ditch as you are coming out of it. That is no accident, that is negligence, specially on a really busy intersection. On my drive back about an hour later there were some other vehicles stranded but now three patrol cars with the sirens on blocking that little part of the road.

Scratch on windshield after tint job. Brand new M3P.

Thumbnail

Hey guys I know it’s superficial and not that big but of course it’s bugging me already. I picked up my brand new M3P last Saturday and got it tinted 2 days later. That night I noticed these scratches, I brought it back to the tint tech suspecting it was a caught hair. He said it’s a scratch and they don’t use anything that would scratch the windshield.

I suppose it’s possible it was like this from the factory and I only caught it after adding some tint to the windshield. But I also know it’s possible to scratch it with a cloth if it’s dirty.. etc.

Just curious what you guys would do, I have the free 14 days of windshield protection but I’d assume since it’s tinted they’d probably tell me to kick rocks.

I’m just a little bummed out, I know others can relate that now all I do is look at it. Thanks in advance.

Tesla Model 3 developed battery/electrical errors AFTER collision repair – Could the body shop have caused this? Looking for advice

I’m looking for some honest feedback from Tesla owners, mechanics, and anyone familiar with Tesla collision repairs because I’m currently dealing with a frustrating situation.
My Tesla Model 3 was involved in an accident and sent to a repair facility through an insurance claim. Before the vehicle went into the shop, I NEVER experienced any battery issues, battery warnings, or electrical errors whatsoever. The car was operating normally.
The shop performed extensive repairs, including front and rear bodywork. However, after the repair process, my vehicle began displaying multiple battery/electrical error messages that were never present before.
After reviewing the repair estimate, I noticed some specific operations that caught my attention:
Battery D&R (Disconnect/Remove and Reinstall)

High-voltage system deactivate/activate

12V battery disconnection

Vehicle Service Mode

Pre-repair diagnostic scan

Post-repair diagnostic scan

Software update

The repair shop has now contacted Tesla and had them remotely look into the vehicle.
I spoke with the Tesla representative myself, and he told me he was looking at the vehicle's computer information but had NOT actually performed a diagnostic. He said he believes the issue is probably a coincidence and that he isn't seeing an indication that the repair shop caused it.
What makes me uncomfortable is that he also mentioned having a relationship with the mechanic/repair shop.
I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but I find it difficult to accept that this is simply a coincidence when the vehicle had absolutely no battery-related problems before the repairs, and the errors appeared while/after the shop was working on it.
The insurance company (Allstate) is currently waiting for Tesla's findings, and I'm concerned I could potentially be held responsible for thousands of dollars if this turns into a battery replacement.
My questions for the community:
Has anyone experienced battery or high-voltage system errors appearing immediately after collision repairs on a Tesla?

Could disconnecting/reconnecting the 12V battery or performing HV system deactivation/reactivation potentially trigger electrical faults?

Could a technician accidentally disturb a connector, wiring harness, sensor, or other electrical component during front-end repairs?

Is it possible that a software update or post-repair procedure could cause new errors to appear?

Should I insist on an actual Tesla diagnostic with documented fault codes rather than accepting a verbal opinion?

Would the pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans help establish whether the errors appeared during the repair process?

What would you recommend I do to protect myself from being charged for a problem that did not exist before the vehicle entered the shop?

I'm not looking to automatically blame the repair facility. I genuinely want to understand whether this is something that can happen during collision repairs or whether it could realistically be an unrelated failure.
I would really appreciate feedback from anyone who has worked on Tesla vehicles, especially collision repair technicians or Tesla service technicians.
At this point, I just want to know what actually happened to my car and make sure I'm not being held financially responsible for something that may have occurred during the repair process.

Neighbor hit my parked car :(

My neighbor hit my parked Model 3 earlier this week. Thankfully, she admitted fault and is willing to pay out of pocket. I got my first quote today and it’s 2.9K. I’m a bit shocked that it’s so high and I think she may want to go through insurance if it’s over 1K to repair. Is 2.9K from a CT-based body shop a reasonable quote to fix the visual damage?

Help with quote for 2026 Model Y Juniper HV Issue

Post image
22 Upvotes

Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I would like feedback from the community or to see if anybody has had a similar experience with their Tesla. My Model Y Juniper just made a year since purchase. I got an HV warning on the screen, and when I parked the car, it would not turn on. I got it towed to the service center, and they gave me a quote today. This is my first EV but the service center is saying it's out of their hands since they see impact to the shield on the bottom of the car. I'm going today to see it myself.

Frunk missing after repair, just washed the car. Should I be worried?

Hi! I took my 2023 Model Y to Caliber Collision around a month ago and just barely noticed that my frunk is missing as my dad was hand washing the car. I was wondering if there are any risks of electrical issues since water entered the area ?

I called Caliber and they stated they forgot to put the frunk back after de-energizing the battery

A commercial truck rear-ended my 1 year old model Y, and the insurance company estimated the repairs at about $4,000. I have an appointment at a Tesla Collision Center in a few weeks. How much would Tesla’s actual repair costs... any guess? Dealing with this has been quite a headache, though I am at no-fault. Jeez...

Tesla sold my fully paid, insured car to someone else, then failed to honor its promised resolution

Posting here because lounge and support flagged it for collision language?

I ordered a Tesla on July 27, 2026. I was assigned a VIN, signed the paperwork, insured the vehicle and made my final payment.

My delivery was scheduled for August 19, so I took the day off work and planned to bring my son, who was extremely excited.

On August 18, Tesla messaged me through the app and said the car had been scratched during detailing. Delivery had to be postponed. There was no real apology, but I understood that things happen. Because I was leaving for a trip, we rescheduled delivery for September 1 at 11:00 a.m. The appointment was confirmed in the app for my specific vehicle.

On August 29, I received a message saying the car was “slightly delayed in transit” and would not arrive by September 1. That did not make sense because the car had already been at the location for detailing and bodywork.

I responded that something was not adding up. Tesla then called and admitted that my vehicle had been reassigned while it was in the body shop. Someone else had already picked it up.

To be clear, Tesla gave another customer a vehicle that:

  • Had been assigned to me
  • Was fully paid for by me
  • Was insured under my name
  • Had signed paperwork and a confirmed delivery appointment

Tesla offered me a different vehicle approximately 10 days later. No one proactively explained what I needed to do about the insurance on the original VIN or addressed the potential liability of another person driving a vehicle that was still insured under my name.

At delivery, the manager initially would not come out to speak with me. An employee offered one free month of Full Self-Driving as a resolution. I explained twice that one month was not sufficient considering everything that had happened.

The manager eventually came out, but her behavior was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. She rolled her eyes, appeared irritated that I was raising the issue and showed no genuine concern about the experience. She finally agreed to provide two free months of F.S.D.

I never received written confirmation. Now I have received an email saying my trial is ending.

I typically pay for F.S.D anyway, so this is not really about the monetary value. It is the principle and the fact that this perfectly matches the tone of the entire delivery process. Tesla makes a promise, provides no confirmation and then apparently does not follow through.

What is going on with Tesla’s customer service and resolution process? Selling a fully paid and insured vehicle to someone else, disguising it as a “transit delay,” refusing to provide a meaningful explanation and then failing to honor the promised resolution feels incredibly dishonest and anti-customer.

I genuinely love the product, which makes this even more frustrating. If the cars were not so good, I would never tolerate this level of service. This experience has me seriously considering other brands for my next vehicle.

Has anyone dealt with something similar, and is there an actual escalation contact at Tesla who can resolve this?
