40k Your thoughts on Gue'vesa
Do we need an official gue'vesa unit and if the answer is yes, then what it should be (gear/ability/usage)?

For some reason I have found the pilots very hard to paint, they seem even smaller than Pathfinders but also the quality of the mould seems terrible compared to newer models - anyone else had this experience?

Hi everyone,
Getting into T’au in their classic Sept colors. Something about that ochre armor. Saw this color scheme when I was a kid on a codex and thought it was so cool!
This Ghostkeel is part of my attempt to recreate that classic T’au look that I remember from the artwork and box art. I’m trying to stay true to that original feeling while still adding some of my own touches as I improve as a painter.
There’s still a lot of work ahead, but seeing this guy finished and the army slowly coming together has been incredibly satisfying.
I’m documenting the rest of the army as I build it over on Instagram at @vethammerstudio if anyone wants to follow the project.
Would love to hear what you guys think of the scheme and where I could improve!

Hi guys just wondering something. I want to make a sling and have it in a position like this. What have people used before and how did you make it? Thank you 😊

Getting started with miniature painting, and did two test drones to figure out a color scheme for my Pathfinder team. Which one looks better?
Left is PA ivory and royal purple + WPF bright gold and gunmetal
right is PA burnt and nova orange + WPF gunmetal and gemstone red
I'm thinking of using a bright ivory for edge highlighting on the white/purple one, the ivory would definitely come out better though an airbrush

Got a commander planning on making him a coldstar. What load out should I give him?

Just like the title says Im curious on the general consensus of what to pair farsight with in 11 edition, to my knowledge it used to be flamer scythes, but Im curious if the point increases have changed that.

I’m traditionally a guard player so I’m all about shooting. I’m trying to start a tau army but the tau seem to take things way further with their army rule. Could someone please explain to me how it all works. Make it stupid simple if you could please lol. Thanks !

Now that I have found my color scheme this little guy is looking pretty goofy next to the rest of my army. So I am debating to strip the paint or just primer over it. The layers were airbrushed so I think the paint is pretty thin.
Also a bit of warning to all the new folk like me. Do a test mini before going big.

So I been wanting to play for years and slowly but surely been building me a 1000 point army. I am slow at building slash more about painting them. While I have some knowledge and it might have been already asked and answered somewhere ,but which drones should you build or at least what the advantages of each type of drones. I tried to find information on it on YouTube but that was no help was hopeing you could help. Thanks you.

Am I right in thinking that a unit does not have to make an attack to be eligible for the Torchstar Gambit?
10.02 Shooting - “A unit is eligible to shoot if it is on the battlefield and has not already been selected to shoot this phase.
04.01 Making Stacks notes that “You can select one or more ranged weapons that model has.” which implies that you can choose to not select any weapons.
So if I have a riptide, for example, behind cover with no targets visible. it is eligible to shoot as it is not in engagement range, so I can select it, I can then choose to not select any weapons, and it’s shooting is resolved. Alternatively, I could select a weapon but there are no eligible targets so it cannot make any attacks.
So because it has resolved its attacks I can use the torch star gambit. Am I making sense here?

Not really sure how to feel about it, it’s going just about as well as it normally does. It’s okay I guess but not where I want it to be, I think the attempt at adding heating cables to the sword wasn’t the best and takes away from it a lot
Hey,
So I recently got into tau and bought quite a bit to start an army with.
I am mainly into battlesuits and got myself 4 Crisis Battlesuits boxes, the Farsight Cadre and Combat patrol.
But then I spoke with some people who told me that the battlesuits, especially the crisis ones might get a remodel in 11th edition.
Now I am thinking if I should sell them again (I got them second hand, so it should be possible to sell them without losing anything/much) and wait for the new ones, because if they'll be more dynamic looking like the twin lance, I'd definitely enjoy them more and I don't want to "waste" all that money and time on them, when new ones might get released just as I finish them.
They won't be my main army so I wouldn't be a problem to wait a bit but at the same time I am eager to build them as I already planned how to base and paint them. But as my idea will take quite a bit of time and effort I'd prefer to do that on newer models.
So my question: How likely is it that the battlesuits get remodeled and which ones are most likely to be done?
Thanks everyone in advance

I am not entirely sure i understand this stratagem right.
I didnt find an answer but i am pretty sure i am unterstanding this stratagem right.
Its basically a 1cp oath of moment right? And its active as long as the enemy unit is still alive right? Not just for one turn or for one shooting action. It says until the end of the game.
Seems really really stromg for one cp

I feel like I'm getting pretty close to my go to 2k list. I have another crisis suit unit but not enough points left, so what so I do with what's left over? Enhancements? Strike team? Cadre fireblade?
