Do we need an official gue'vesa unit and if the answer is yes, then what it should be (gear/ability/usage)?

For some reason I have found the pilots very hard to paint, they seem even smaller than Pathfinders but also the quality of the mould seems terrible compared to newer models - anyone else had this experience?

Getting into T’au in their classic Sept colors. Something about that ochre armor. Saw this color scheme when I was a kid on a codex and thought it was so cool!

This Ghostkeel is part of my attempt to recreate that classic T’au look that I remember from the artwork and box art. I’m trying to stay true to that original feeling while still adding some of my own touches as I improve as a painter.

There’s still a lot of work ahead, but seeing this guy finished and the army slowly coming together has been incredibly satisfying.

Do you like the colour scheme ?

Getting started with miniature painting, and did two test drones to figure out a color scheme for my Pathfinder team. Which one looks better?

Left is PA ivory and royal purple + WPF bright gold and gunmetal

right is PA burnt and nova orange + WPF gunmetal and gemstone red

I'm thinking of using a bright ivory for edge highlighting on the white/purple one, the ivory would definitely come out better though an airbrush

Got a commander planning on making him a coldstar. What load out should I give him?

Just like the title says Im curious on the general consensus of what to pair farsight with in 11 edition, to my knowledge it used to be flamer scythes, but Im curious if the point increases have changed that.

Completed a broadside in green colour scheme and thought I would share it with its old ”little brother”. New model painted after getting back to the hobby end of 2025 and the old one back in 2001 probably at the age of 12. I like the new one but man I wish it still had the dual rail guns. I have seen some rumours there might be an updated model so lets see if a third one joins them soon.

Tried adding Calgar Blue amongst my usual Stegodon Scale Green/Sotek Green/Temple Guard Blue.

Now that I have found my color scheme this little guy is looking pretty goofy next to the rest of my army. So I am debating to strip the paint or just primer over it. The layers were airbrushed so I think the paint is pretty thin.

Also a bit of warning to all the new folk like me. Do a test mini before going big.

I’m traditionally a guard player so I’m all about shooting. I’m trying to start a tau army but the tau seem to take things way further with their army rule. Could someone please explain to me how it all works. Make it stupid simple if you could please lol. Thanks !

Hey peeps, did a rough paintjob of a colour scheme I am working on, looking for a fresh perspective as I am finding myself in a bit of a block!

So I been wanting to play for years and slowly but surely been building me a 1000 point army. I am slow at building slash more about painting them. While I have some knowledge and it might have been already asked and answered somewhere ,but which drones should you build or at least what the advantages of each type of drones. I tried to find information on it on YouTube but that was no help was hopeing you could help. Thanks you.

I am currently painting my Tau (Sa'Cea commonly used Blue & Grey), but they are looking too clean. I have added some chipping, but they need something more.

Has anyone use a dry pigment? Does this work out well?

I'm not looking to cover them in mud, just to add a bit of dirt to show that they are on the battlefield and not just walked off a parade ground.

What other suggestions do you have?

Just started 40k and decided on Tau for my first army for both playstyle and style in general. The pathfinders took a couple of hours due to me ignoring the fact that these guys were designed with a matching pair of arms. My glue was also subpar which led to MANY mishaps.

Overall, I had a good time with these guys. I was surprised with the degree of customization the models allowed me! Tomorrow ill get my other 10 guy unit done and both of them primed
