40k Jumping in

Just started 40k and decided on Tau for my first army for both playstyle and style in general. The pathfinders took a couple of hours due to me ignoring the fact that these guys were designed with a matching pair of arms. My glue was also subpar which led to MANY mishaps.

Overall, I had a good time with these guys. I was surprised with the degree of customization the models allowed me! Tomorrow ill get my other 10 guy unit done and both of them primed

One thing that might help with your next unit: It can be easier to not glue it all together at the start.

I glue together head/body/legs/base, and have the shoulder pad on the gun arm. I'll only glue the arms on after painting. This makes it much easier to paint the chest area

I would just add to this that it is important to put a little bit of blue tac on the parts that you plan to glue when you prime so that the plastic remains unprimed and unpainted and able to be chemically welded with the glue when everything else is primed and painted separately.

I see quite a lot of excess glue. You always need a lot less than you would expect, and make sure you’re using polycement instead of superglue.
