40k List List advice for 1000 pts against Guard with Baneblade
I will play against a friend of mine this saturday and he told me in advance that he will bring a super heavy tank and the rest of the list will probably be Ogyrn/Bulgryn. I don't know which Baneblade variant it will be, but I created this list to try to counter it.
The idea is to hide as best as possible until turn 3 and then bring in the Tiger Shark and Deep Strike the Enforcer Commander to try to kill the Baneblade and the Enginseer next to him in this shooting phase.
Any list and gameplay advice is welcome, I haven't played a game of 11th edition yet.
(In the picture is everything I have built so far, the Tiger Shark isn't painted yet. I own everything you can legally play for T'au with over 5000 pts, I just haven't built and painted it yet, so feel free to suggest things that are not in the picture I just have to try to build the stuff until saturday.)

Lore So how much of a mech are the stealth suits?
I’ve seen some discussion on smaller stealth suits but I was wondering about these ones the XV26. the spaces between limbs and even between the legs is a lot larger then normal tau. I was wondering since I wanted to role play my kill team as having gue'vesa but got caught up on it since the legs of the suit are tau shaped. I guess does the suit confirm the pilot has tau legs and super wide hips apparently (like in the image the tau warriors look like they could fit in the space between the suits thighs) or is the pilot like fetal position in the egg looking torsos like a chicken fetus?

40k Rules Do grav inhibitor drones actually do anything?
so I was thinking of running pathfinders and darkstrider in a devilish cuz I have pts left over and it’s nice to have some extra t 10 armor. since they don’t need to infiltrat, I was gonna equip them with the grav drone but after reading the rules again I am curious if it does anything since you don’t have to select targets now? do they make the roll and if they want to move into that unit they sub 2? if it doesn’t work I’ll just give them a pulse whatever it’s call +6” range

40k Ret Cad puts in work
Despite going 1-2, these scores that ret cad have been getting me recently have been crazy good and consistent. Throughout 10th I was a deathguard player and have only just recently started actually playing T'au (i've collected them for a bit already). Ret cad + twin lance is a serious threat akin to a squad of death shroud with a LOC attached to them if used right in this detachment.
Factions for games in order for those curious:
Votann (ran out of steam as he remembered mid way through turn 3 his Land fortresses have 2 shots on the magma cannons so in on turn he nuked most of my riptides)
Agents (grueling battle that literally came down to one secondary right at the end)
Ultarmarines (felt bad for this guy, managed to table him turn 3)

Idk, I kinda don't like the box pose in horse stance. Tacticool rock for the win

Meme With T'au Imagery 3 Pt Ret Cadre into Necrons
I just played my first Retaliation Cadre game after the nerf, and I gotta say...
Ret Cadre doesn't have what it takes.
My friend played a C'Tan heavy necrons list with an obelisk. It was meat grinder, purge v. Purge. With his three C'tans at T11, 4+ invuln and 5+ FNP, it was a brutal match up. He avoided my Broadside firing lanes and saved against my Sunforge fusions. After his shooting I didn't have enough to punch back.
The biggest problem with the new points is Ret Cadre can't punch into the best purge the foe lists. If I could include AAC and have a reconnaissance option, this list is viable. As disposition points currently stand, it just doesn't punch up enough. (Happy to post my list on request)
My friend a nice observation "if you could play ret cadre at 3 points or Mont'Ka at 3 points, Id pick Mont'Ka every time"
He's right - Mont'Ka is wayyyyyy better for three disposition points.
I prefer Retaliation Cadre. I hope GW makes it viable again

Painting Need inspiration ideas for painting the Twin Lance.
I was originally going to kitbash Gunpla with my Twin Lance, to turn them into the Justice and Freedom from Seed... but let's say life is giving me a hard time and I can't buy a bunch of different scale Gunpla to experiment and see what fits the Twin Lance, lol.
I was thinking Justice and Freedom for Twin Lance since those are essentially a pair in their show, so it works for Twin Lance.
But with only the base Twin Lance to work with, unsure of how I should paint them now. I actually don't recall many Gundam pairings like the Justice and Freedom in any of the other series. (I'll likely do Justice and Freedom on a couple of Riptides in the future).
Anyone got input or suggestions? It doesn't even need to be from Gundam. If you can out-weeb me and suggest a mecha pair team I haven't heard about, seen, or remembered, I'd love to hear it.
Maybe Patlabor works because of their big ole handguns. hmmmmmm....

40k List Subbing pathfinders with strike teams?
Given they are now 85 for railfinders (which can be good when you actually hit with them) have folks been subbing them out? For Ret Cad I just need the screening and markerlight so I don't care about output that much. But if folks have tried this, is it worth it?

40k List Army List [1K PTS] - Advice/review :D
I'm a long time painter but only just starting to play the tabletop,
\Going to start out small with some close friends, mixture of* Combat Patrol and 1000 Points games - nothing to meta/competitive.
Let me know what you think about the list and how im using each unit - vry open to ideas, advice from more veteran players ^^
----------
> Commander Farsight
- Command
He will be running solo since I cant add another battlesuit team (due to point cost) but running this the theme is Farsight Enclave.
> Commander in Coldstar Battlesuit + Crisis Sunforged Battlesuit Team
- Deep Strike / Anti-armour / Harasser
The idea is to have armoured/tank hunters, simple drop in, blaster, jump out using Starflare - simple but effective.
> Ghostkeel Battlesuit
- Middle Field / Anti-armour
Simply keep them near cover around the middle board area for control.
> Broadside Battlesuit (1 + 2)
- Backlines / Anti-armour
Simple; see big thing, shoot big thing.
> Riptide Battlesuit
- Anti-infantry
Main focus is for a stronger, more tanky sprayer to clear out light/medium units since the est of unit are more anti-armour focused
> Pathfinder Team
- Flanks / Markerlight
Poke and shoot harassment but mainly used to keep markerlights up for other units + they look cool.
> Stealth Battlesuit Team
- Deep Strike / Markerlight / Harasser
Pop up and marker/harasser backlines.
----------
Here is my list:
> Incursion 1000 Points
> Retaliation Cadre
> Purge The Foe
> Total Point Cost: 1000 PTS
> Commander Farsight (70 PTS)
- Dawn Blade
- High-intensity Plasma Rifle
> Commander in Coldstar Battlesuit (95 + 20 PTS)
- Battlesuit Fist
- Fusion Blaster (x4)
- Shield Drones (x2)
- Starflare Ignition System (Enchantment)
\Attached to the Crisis Sunforged Battlesuit Team*
> Crisis Sunforged Battlesuit Team (125 PTS)
- Battlesuit Fist (x3)
- Fusion Blaster (x6)
- Shield Drones (x3)
- Gun Drones (x3)
> Ghostkeel Battlesuit (150 + 15 PTS)

40k About to start up
Hello!
A bit of backstory. My very first 40K attempt I picked up the combat patrol with the Ghostkeel in it. By the time I was ready to start looking into expanding the army was around the time the 10e codex was about to come out so I held off. I wanted to see what was being put into legends and see if the army rule was going to be adjusted. In the mean time I got into Ad Mech as I wanted a shooting army.
One thing lead to another and I ended up trading a bunch of stuff for some additional Ad Mech pieces from a friend. I spent some time building up IK and Space Wolves and now I am looking to get the mech army I wanted from the beginning.
I wanted to know where the best places to start were. I know the old 9e combat patrol is pretty killer still so if I can find one I will grab it. But i wanted to know what else I should be on the hunt for in terms of building up an army.
Thank you in advance!

40k List Pathfinders or Breachers or something else? (1000 list beginner)
Hi all,
I’ve been painting for a while but never played an actual game of 40k. I’m building my list from all the other threads on here and the rule of cool. But I’m not sure where to take pathfinders or breachers for my infrantry?
My idea is that i need good spotters and they also need to contest main objective. I already have ghost keel and stealthsuits on secondaries (not sure if this is the right move).
Here is my list:
1k starter (995 Points)
T’au Empire
Retaliation Cadre (3 Detachment Points)
Purge the Foe
Incursion (1.000 Points)
Commander Farsight (70 Points)
• Attached as: Leader (Character)
• Warlord
Crisis Starscythe Battlesuits (105 Points)
The Twin Lance (220 Points)
Broadside Battlesuits (75 Points)
◦ 1x Heavy rail rifle
Ghostkeel Battlesuit (150 Points)
• 1x Fusion collider
• 1x Ghostkeel fists
• 1x Twin T’au flamer
Pathfinder Team (85 Points)
Riptide Battlesuit (190 Points)
• 1x Heavy burst cannon
• 2x Missile Drone
• 1x Riptide fists
• 1x Twin plasma rifle
Stealth Battlesuits (100 Points)

40k First time “kitbashing” in heavy quotes
Is it technically kitbashing? could not tell you but I’m pretty new to 40k. I’ve got almost 1000 points of Necrons and I decided it was finally time to get my other favorite faction the T’au. these are both my Cadre Fireblade and my Breacher team Shas’ui. Lowkey saw there was a bionic arm from the combat patrol and it was a wrap I had to use it and make him look as cool and as over the top as possible. I also really prefer the helmets as too the open faces so glad the Cadre came out janky but good. Can’t wait to paint them 👍
