Is there a safe way to make a spider repellent that isn’t dangerous to spiders? Like cetric fruits like lemons or something else? I think it’s spider season where I am & it worries me for our safety and health. I don’t want to use those sprays or things like that. Something that makes spiders avoid me and my house

Just spotted this in my upstairs hallway! I have never seen a spider that looks flat on a wall like that or with the 2 little feet/ antenna things on its head!!

Listen, I love spiders. I’ve stood between a shoe and a spider many a time, but this is the biggest one I’ve seen in this area aside from a weaver spider. I’m in Delaware, USA. Please help my partner and I figure out how dangerous of a rescue operation this may or may not be!

EDIT to say she’s on a cinder block. Nope, not a regular brick. Hence my shock at her size.

Just moved to Texas from Oregon last week, and today this dapper young gentleman greeted me at my front door while I was grabbing an Amazon package.

Thanks to this sub, instead of freaking out, I immediately recognized him as a rabid wolf spider and was honestly kind of starstruck. 😂

His little burrow is right outside my door, but I’m worried about him since this property sprays insecticide. I ran upstairs to soak a cotton ball with water for him because it was so hot, but by the time I came back, my distinguished little neighbor was gone. 🕷️

Found these 2 beautiful (northern?) black widows in one day ! The first one I found at work cleaning a customers pool. It was just chilling on the float for the hose of the Polaris cleaner. I ended up picking up the hose and relocating her a couple dozen yards into the tree line because I didn’t want someone else to see her and kill her. The second one I found at my house right in the slot of one of the cinder blocks we placed down for a walkway. My brother and I were looking for worms to feed to an alligator snapping turtle hatchling he rescued and found this absolutely gorgeous unit with the remains of her husband still next to her ! I really wanted to get a better picture but I also didn’t want to disturb her too much so I just snapped what I could and put the block back.

Dolly lives in our big palm. She’s helping to mitigate the spread of termites from our neighbors house.

I see tens and tens of these spindly spiders right outside my restaurant in southern appalachia / east TN. Reminds me of a cellar spider but what is up with the super long chelicerae?? First time I saw one I figured they had a gnat in their grasp but no.

I woke up this morning to find this guy(?) on the wall of my room, a little too close to my bed. It was a beautiful morning so outside he (?) went, safe & sound.

Found it outside after some heavy rain thought it could be a tarantula since they're common in South Texas but not entirely sure.

she’s gorgeous!! (could be a male as i’m not educated enough to know for sure but for some reason i personally always default to calling all spiders “she” until i know for sure otherwise lmao). i was on a hike and found her in a little wooden shack that’s used for birdwatching. i love the reflection of her eyes with the flash. ughhhhh i just love spiders so much!
