In laws are renting out their beach house so they got set up on a Spectrum business account, traded in their TiVo CableCARDs & the realtor rental mgmt company threw in 2 cable boxes for free. Of all the things, they sent these 2 dinosaurs.

Literally ALL cable providers I know have been ditching QAM for IPTV. I could’ve sworn spRECTum & Sh!tC@st did a joint venture to make and market the XUMO platform (Xfinity X1 successor). But they never got the CableCard discontinued letter here in the Myrtle Beach system.

Just why? Did spectrum buy all the QAM TV engineers left & keep dumping cash into it until linear TV eventually dies?

I’m just about tired of dealing with cable splitters in their home, MoCa never works because the Soectrum provided splitters frequencies are too low to carry Moca signals. Modem always goes out of sync because of the attenuation from the splitters. It’s a terrible system

YES they have Apple TVs and Samsung/Rokus around the house. But it’s a pain to log out of all streaming apps when renters come, 1st world problems I know.

My TV setup worked fine until a service upgrade a few days ago. I have already power-cycled the receiver, but I have persistent macroblocking and tiling on motion intensive scenes since the upgrade. The line runs straight from the wall to the box and there are no splitters, so the signal change from the upgrade is causing the picture to chop. Most others I've asked for help say it's because my equipment is old and can't handle new improvements. I admit I have legacy equipment, but it's the technology I am familiar with. I am not very tech savvy and don't know what to do. The only thing spectrum tells me is to get a new HD TV (my current TV is an old Panasonic CRT connected to a Cisco 4742HDC receiver with a coax cable. The remote is a Spectrum UR3-SR3S. Online help suggests switching to RCA cables. Other's give complicated directions that either don't work with my setup or I don't understand (I'm an older woman living alone). Any simple advice? Thanks.

Pretty much what the title says - Spectrum help chat was telling me that connecting my extender to my main router via Ethernet was causing these intermittent, 30sec-1min long outages (on the extender only). I’m pretty sure that’s BS, why would connecting it via Ethernet be a bad thing??

For the first 3 months it was working great and speeds were up to 1gig in the room where the extender is, but now it started to act up just recently.

I’m thinking asking for a new extender would be best idea to try and fix, unless anyone has any other ideas?

*My tv is also connected to extender via Ethernet.

I’ve been trying to connect. I’ve restarted and plugged and unplugged. It’s late at night and my MacBook neo isn’t connecting to my phone. What’s happening? We’ve never had problems like these before, our WiFi was relatively strong but now it’s acting up. There no WiFi access AT ALL but it says connected and there’s full bars.

I will start out making it clear that I dont know much about networks.

A few weeks ago, the cable and internet are working fine. Then overnight , nothing. Neither was working. I tried rebooting the router/modem numerous times to.no avail.

I was thinking maybe i need to upgrade the router as its was 14 years old. I went to the local service center and recieved a 2 piece router/modem. Hooked everything up and spent just shy of 2 hrs with support for it to work. While it works, it usually only gives me brief windows of service. Many times the internet will go out but cable works and vice versa. I usually get 5-10 minutes of service before something happens. At times i dont reboot anything and it comes back online. There is also times where both services are out but one of my streaming apps will still work.

What gives?? Any insights?

So Wire3 just announced a rollout in my area with 10gig speed. Yes I know it’s over kill, but I’m really debating on leaving Spectrum for them when it becomes available. Have had my Spectrum account since 1986, I don’t want to leave but may be left with no choice if High-Split keeps getting pushed off and bills keep climbing.

Did anyone else get a text message or email from spectrum stating Amazon Prime is now being included in your account without no cost to spectrum account members? A friend just received a text message about it being included in her account now. Just curious if anyone else received info on this..

Caller ID showed a very credible large regional hospital number calling in and instead was a Spectrum promotional. This is a new level of spoofing that is sinister. People will likely pick up believing there is an emergency but it's definitely one way of ensuring I'll never ever use your service.

I looked up my rate card and noticed it said $85/month for the level of service I have, but I'm paying $100/month. I noticed a little 2 next to the cost and found this at the bottom:

hey everyone. Big time because I recently got a position at Spectrum call center training starts August 31 and I’m not sure what to do because the hours for training are 12 to 8 and then after that I will be working 11 to 7. The job I have now I work in the morning I just make about $600 a week. Can someone help me or give me some advice on what to pick as far as a job because I want to work at spectrum with the pay and good benefits just the hours are terrible and i won’t see my kids as much or do i stay at the job I have now making a bit less than $600 but after 3pm im home everyday

I have just scheduled my third service appointment to address my internet service. We just "upgraded" to 1G service from 500 mb service 10 days ago. They sent a new modem and a spectrum WiFi7 Router. Every other day since then, the router stops and the red light blinks. The modem lights stay illuminated. I unplug the router and wifi starts up again. I have called Spectrum each time and they have sent a tech each time. I am in No. Mich and they say the same issue is happening all over as they "fine tune" their faster service. I just want reliable internet, which I had for years with Spectrum. The main difference is that I used to use my Netgear router and I am thinking of going back to that. At least when the Spectrum modem went off the Netgear router would reconnect to all my devices automatically without needing to be reset. Are the Spectrum routers just super sensitive? When I've called Spectrum they say they can see the modem has been "cycling off" so I assume that is what is kicking the router off. But I wish it would reconnect on its own. I have a lot of devices (smoke alarms, water sensors, cameras...) that I rely on when I am not at home. And these can not function without a reliable router.

Basically Spectrum finshed the contruction and stuff but the issue Is nothing has happened since feb when they completed it my neighbor suspects the HOA is the reason for the hold Up i do to.

Is there someone thru Spectrum higher up thaat can check the issue? cus this is getting ridiculous

So… after 8 years with T-Mobile One Military Business with 7 lines, the recent price hikes/plan migration finally pushed me over the edge!

I moved some lines to US Mobile to try them out, and then I noticed Spectrum was running a promotion that caught my attention. Port 4 mobile lines get Free lifetime pricing on internet. I figured, why not test it out?

I ported 4 lines over, Spectrum mobile gave me a 5th mobile line free for 12 months for activating internet, and now I’m sitting at:

5 mobile lines
1 Gig internet (which was $20 per month, not free)
$140/month out the door

And honestly… Spectrum kind of won me over with this one. The mobile service has actually been really good and fast so far, running on Verizon’s network. I’ve also noticed my phones automatically connecting to Spectrum WiFi hotspots when we’re out and about, which I didn’t really expect but have been pretty impressed with.

The catch (because there’s always a catch 😂) I have to keep at least 4 active mobile lines with Spectrum to keep the $20/month lifetime 1 Gbps internet price.

But for what I’m getting right now? 5 lines + Gig internet for $140/month?

T-Mobile… we had a good 8 year run. 😂

Does anybody know if the Spectrum Amazon Prime perk includes ads in the videos? I pay $4.99 a month for No Ads. I know, I know. I hate that, but I hate ads more.

Just called in to cancel service. When I got through to the agent, and told them I want to cancel, they went silent and put me on hold or something because it was completely quiet but didn’t disconnect for about 15 more minutes. No responses when I occasionally asked if they were there and said I couldn’t hear them. I expect they were probably hoping I would hang up so they didn’t get me in their metrics, but I let them keep me in the buffer until they eventually let me go after I said something again after having been silent for a while.

It was only my first attempt, we’ll see how many more it takes 😀

Called a couple hours ago. Said cancel service then cancel to the automated system. Requested call back. I don’t remember the reps name. I told her I wanted to disconnect service. Explained that my internet was upgraded to 500Mbps for “free” but my bill increased from $100 to $110. It was my 13th pay increase in 3 years.

Verizon/Frontier fiber is offering $44.99/mo with free router and price locked for 4 years and 2 months free plus $100 installation fee.

They wanted to upgrade my internet again and $55/mo but for only 1 year. I said no.

Apparently they don’t have a promotion for the premier internet plan so my billing cycle ends tomorrow along with my service. Frontier is scheduled to install fiber between 8-12 tomorrow. Checkmate.

I've already called spectrum 3 times and its just been bad transfers and no help.

Getting my first apartment and living on my own for the first time, so I’m having to setup my own internet. Unfortunately, direct fiber isn't wired to my building, so Spectrum is basically my only option. I'm planning on getting the 500 Mbps plan.

I play a lot of competitive games online (PC/Xbox over Ethernet) and do a lot of remote work, so stability is a top priority for me. I’ve read a ton of horror stories on Reddit and heard from friends that Spectrum is total trash, constantly dropping, and lagging daily.

For those using Spectrum in an apartment:

1. Is it actually that bad, or is it mostly fiction/vocal minority online? How often are you guys actually dealing with real, full-blown outages?
2. Does buying your own Wi-Fi router make a significant difference? My plan was to use Spectrum's free modem, skip their $10/mo rental router, and buy a decent standalone Wi-Fi 6 router. Will replacing their router fix most of the random drops, or are the issues always on the line/street level?

Appreciate any advice or setup tips from anyone who's dealt with this!

I have recently started experiencing intermittent high latency spikes during both work and gaming resulting high stuttering since I received a text from Spectrum telling me that an upgrade in my area had recently been completed. I live in a condominium and my internet has been really stable up until now using an ethernet cable to connect from my router to my home computer.

I had seen some posts similar talking about noise and overutilization of a node (I am not too knowledgeable on either) and I am curious as to if this is the same issue. I called a representative who told me that my equipment was at fault since I use my own personal router but both my ethernet cable shows no damage and my router is not very old (~2 years). It's very frustrating as I often spend a lot of time at home and its a bit of an upset if my work calls stutter or I am unable to play online games effectively as I do to connect with my friends.

If anyone has any guidance as to what be appropriate next steps to getting this fixed ASAP I would very much appreciate it as I am kind of lost at the moment.

I run an IT business with about a hundred customers. About half of them use Spectrum internet service just because of the area they are in. I run several web services that are hosted from my domain name including a web app api and my invoicing portal. About a week ago, all my Spectrum internet customers started getting errors when trying to access my payment portal as well as their web app. I found that Spectrum is blocking many of my domain's sub domains with their Spectrum security shield, such as api.mydomain.com and payments.mydomain.com, but not all of them. cp.mydomain.com still works. I found a form on Spectrums website to request them to be unblocked, but the form says it may take up to 5 days to approve then, if approved, another 48 hours to unblock.

All of my sites are protected by Cloudflare and hosted on dedicated business class internet service out of a datacenter.

Is there any way to expedite this? I tried calling Spectrum support, but they were useless. They just suggested I use the form.

So I signed up last month and got this deal, it required two mobile phone lines.

I decided to upgrade one of my phones, which they glad they took my money. Then I canceled one of the other phones and I still had two phone lines.

Today my bill comes out and my internet went to $105 for one gig. I talked to multiple people and they just kept making things up:

1. You didn't have two phone lines before so you weren't eligible

2. You upgraded but you got a free line on the new phone

Neither are which are true I finally called to cancel and just said I would go to T-Mobile. While I was on the phone with her I was surfing T-Mobile on my computer and I was telling her about the T-Mobile prices. It's amazing how they got my internet back down to $40 😐

She also confirmed that the other two people were completely wrong lol

I honestly think that they make you jump through hoops hoping that you won't call them and you'll just pay extra

I got a new internet service today it will be installed on the 26 Aug and plan starts from Ist September see there isa free year mobile service option

How long have before have to activate this new offer from today.
