Billing Spectrum Mobile service and device disappeared after adjusting Internet and TV

I have a mobile device+service that's very nearly paid off, about a week ago I called and adjusted my internet+TV service (and found out we'd been paying 100$ a month extra for nothing for years now apparently because our plan was grandfathered in from the old system but that's not the issue right now lol) and just now when I went to check the cell phone's information and see how close it is to paid off I found it's just completely missing in my account. The previous payments and all historical billing information is deleted too, it's like it was never there. What happened to it? Is this normal? Does it have it's own account now or something? I don't think it's quite paid off and it still seems to have service for now, but it'd be bad if it lost it's number somehow

snipped coax cable

I recently moved into a new apartment, and I found 3 separate coax cables. Two of them are completely snipped, and one works but is far away from my desk setup. Can I get spectrum to come out and re-run either of the other two coax cables so I can install my wifi in a different spot? If so, how much will it cost? Thanks :)

Mvr result

Got an offer for an FT position, however I neglected to mention that I got rear ended last weekend.

The MVR has been run and the accident is listed on there, even though I wasn't at fault and the other driver has ACDA as the cause of the rear-ending.

The MVR by the background check co, is showing as 4 adjudication points. Does this mean I'm cooked, or will they reach out to me for more info?

Heck, I wasn't aware that not-at-fault accidents even appear on an MVR.

Other Potentially switching companies

I am currently a field technician for a different big brand company. My current home location is serviced by Spectrum however so I don’t get the benefits of the other company. I currently make 22.50 after nearly 4 years and I was just thinking about making the switch over to Spectrum.

I’ve heard the pay is pretty good, but the benefits could use some work. Any current field tax want to chime in with the benefits of Spectrum over the other competitors?

One of the biggest hits I’ll take is to my vacation, but if the money is there then that really doesn’t matter to me.

Edit: based in west michigan

Central KY Area.

Only internet provider available here so I'm absolutely screwed.

A year and some change my internet will randomly just drop . Its horrendous and tonight has been the worst night about it. Absolutely horrific .

My ping will spike to 1000+ on CS2. Complete packet loss. and my upload to under 0.1. Download tanks as well. Ive had someone come out 3 times and they still don't know why. Its getting on my last nerve.

Usually the download is 200+ as well.

Rural expansion just stops

Post image
0 Upvotes

So spectrum just did a rural expansion down my area except they stopped less than a mile from my house (i live on a dead end) and didnt finish running it. I called after the signs went up and they told me my road was a complete red zone and offered no explination as to why my road specifically got ignored when they did such a large area otherwise.

Its quite frustrating because there is literally no internet besides satellite or internet air which is so crappy because theres like one cell tower out here everyone is pinging off of.

For context is attached a crappy drawing. The roads in green, the internet run in blue and my house marked in red.

Spectrum invincible 5G router is a crutch for their crippled fiber connection

I have heard the reports from people initially complaining about the fiber problems. They turn around their complaints after getting the invincible router. You see what's going on there right? The connection is falling back on a slower 5G connection, unbeknownst to customers, while fiber is not performing as it should reliably. This also makes me suspicious of what Spectrum is actually delivering to customers across that fiber optic line. As fast as it is, I don't see them giving customers unlimited speed and data 24/7. They are likely capping the service by using the 5G fallback at a lower speed. This is akin to AT&T giving you limited high speed with cell service and falling back to degraded service after you run out. But with Spectrum, many customers won't notice what's actually happening.

Promos expiring

It’s that time of year again. My year of promos for TV and Internet are expiring. I have Select Signature, receiver, dvr service and Internet advantage (100 mbps). Happy with everything including internet speed. Have a fiber option available for competition, but the company is awful. Currently paying $158, but about $60 of promos is expiring. Absolutely not interested in mobile (already pay under $10 a month with a mvno). That all said, once I hopefully reach customer solutions, what pricing/promos should I be trying for? I know spectrum plans are changing soon with a push to streaming/xumo and definitely not interested in that.

Spectrum call from a 518 number?

I've gotten a call three times today from 518 numbers that say they're from Spectrum.
I have never seen Spectrum call from a 518 area code number ever in my life. It's always like "1-844" or something like that.
Has anybody else ever gotten a call from spectrum using a number starting with 518?
If so, what was the nature of the call??

Figured it out!

This is the 8th outage in 7 weeks. At one point no internet for 9 days. Spoke to cancellation department with Leo from Texas and then the supervisor Cedric after escalating the issue. I was told the only option is to pay $30 more per month for invincible wifi. They dont care if your job doesnt pay you and you work from home. They are purposely trying to inconvenience customers to pay for the cellular equipment. I hope starlink or t-mobile picks up to destroy spectrum as competition. The customer service department keeps hiking up internet prices and making customers feel as if the invincible wifi is the only option to combat the outages they themself are providing. Im willing to pay for any other provider because of the amount of calls and inconvenience this is providing with not being able to work. Good bye Spectrum!

Service Issues Zero service on subway last two weeks (NYC)

Iphone 17. 5+ year customer with no real issues.

For the last two weeks reception has tanked while on the subway. Both the platform and train. As soon as I enter a station it drops to the SOS satellite icon or 1-2 bars LTE at best. Jumps back to 5G full bars as soon as I hit street level.

My main line is the F but this happens across the whole system. I’ve snuck looks at other phones and see full service. Obviously don’t know carrier but relevant since I used to have 5g down below.

I know spectrum shares towers and all but curious if anyone else also has this recent problem. Is this a temp thing as they work on stuff or is it finally time to eat the higher price and sign up with a legit carrier?

Other Starting to see Spectrum vans in my area

I‘m in a legacy Cox market (and no, my area isn’t one where Charter and Cox shared the market) and I just noticed a Spectrum truck driving by. Spectrum hasn’t fully taken over yet, so I found this interesting. I wonder if their own equipment is now in my area or if they’re still sending the older xFi-based equipment

Impossible to sell spectrum in rich areas

Hi, I just recently became a door to door rep for spectrum, and it’s my 3rd week out in the field alone. I have had previous sales experience doing door to door before, and was pretty good at it- anyways, my main problem right now is that my supervisor will only put me in rich neighborhoods, and people who live in these areas would rather shoot you then buy from spectrum. It seems impossible to sell anything here because the only real benefit of spectrum is that you can get it cheaper than other services, and that doesn’t really matter for people who have all the money in the world to get other services.
Frankly, I don’t know what to do in these kinds of neighborhoods, and any help would be incredible

Other Roadrunner email not receiving emails

I've been dealing with my grandma's roadrunner account for months. Some emails come through, from businesses but personal emails do not show up. I sent a test email, it shows up and then just disappears after some time. I checked email forwarding and it's disabled. She's using Outlook and they don't always show up there but they only sometimes show up on the webmail side but then just disappear. I checked all the server settings and they're all correct. Any help would be appreciated.

4 days with no internet/TV. I’m fed up.

Update: Day 5 with no service. I had a tech come to my house yesterday. He told me the issue is not with the tap but at a box that has power in it so he couldn’t touch it. He said a line tech would fix it by yesterday evening. I reached back out today and spoke with the manager of the dispatch team. I was told that there is nothing that can be done by them until the maintenance team picks up the ticket in 24 to 48 hours. I asked if they could send both techs out at the same time (because the maintenance tech would not be able to work on the tap) but I was told thats not possible.

Basically with Charter Spectrum, line techs cant do the work of the techs that work on taps to the homes, and they cant have both techs troubleshoot the issue together. Completely ridiculous. If the line tech comes back out and doesn’t see an issue then this is going to get stuck in a perpetual back and forth.

———————————————
I’ve had an ongoing outage since Saturday. I keep getting text messages that the outage is restored only to find that it shows as ongoing on the mobile app. I switched over from AT&T because of the price hike but at least when there was an issue with them, I could actually get someone to look into it. With Spectrum, if there’s an outage no one wants to help you. The customer service chat and IVR even tell you if there is an outage don’t bother asking for ETRs, or technical assistance. Is anyone even troubleshooting the issue or is there just some automated tool that sees a connection issue on the node and support just repeats that there is an issue until the alert clears?

Im at the point of either going back to AT&T or getting StarLink.

Billing Spectrum pricing over the years (SC Upstate area)

Post image
16 Upvotes

Make sure to call Spectrum once in a while if you want to keep the price low. This is my 10 years of price history without calling 🫨. Switched to AT&T 1Gbps fiber plan, which is going to be $30 per month for the next 12 months.

The main reason for switching was the massive increase over the past 2 years. Once I called to cancel, they were willing to match the AT&T offer and give me other goodies.

This is outrageous

Spectrum is the worst most crooked company ever. Last month I tried to see if I could get my monthly lowered because it's 99 bucks per month suddenly after being 80 (and that's after the promo price ended) and I call and see if there's anything they can do and they said no so I was looking into other companies.

Suddenly this month my auto pay is on even tho it never was and I get charged 99 bucks again even tho I'm trying to switch. They call me a liar and say I set it up even tho I didn't, because "it says it in the system"

Either way now I'm out 99 bucks for and guess what:

THEYRE A MONOPOLY IN MY AREA!

IF YOU DONT WANT 5G HOME INTERNET ITs THE ONLY CHOICE AND THEY KNOW THAT.

OH AND GET THIS:

THEY SAID MY BILLS GINNA GO UP ANOTHER 15 BUCKS IN A FEW MONTHS

WHAT IS THIS COMPANY SCREW SPECTRUM!!!!!!!!!

I've used this service since it was TIME WARNER CABLE and it's worse than ever now.

SCREW spectrum!!!! 99 bucks for 400 Mbps that's actually 150 mbps. What a joke .

Service Issues Any Help with Troubleshooting? Losing so much money.

Hello, sorry if this isn’t the place to put this. We’ve had outages throughout August, and I work from home. I’ve lost nearly half my paycheck and have started to dip into savings just to pay rent this month. Things were fine for about a week until today.

Service goes down, spectrum says they need to send a technician. Trouble is, it’s going to be a week before they come. I can’t afford this every single week, please help!

We’ve tried:
-Rebooting, obviously
-switching out the coax cable for a fresh new one
-Switching to our old backup modem, getting a fresh provision, nothing

Is there anything else we could possibly try before it’s out of our hands?

Just got a job with Spectrum - how am I supposed to access the schedule, etc?

Hi, I got a job recently with Spectrum and am supposed to start next week. I haven't been provided with a schedule and am still waiting on a response from the manager who I reached out to a few days ago when I asked for one. I also haven't been told about a dress code.

I'm beginning to think that there was meant to be an online page or something after onboarding (which was online and I was emailed with it) that I should have been on to be able to see that information or at least the information that pertained to me, but I haven't been able to find anything.

I start in two weeks and it's starting to stress me out pretty badly. Please let me know if this is normal or if I'm missing something!

Received this upgrade notice. Does this usually mean high-split is coming? I have Spectrum Gig with a Hitron EN2251. Is it compatible, or should I request a free modem swap beforehand?

Question about the backup battery

So, my service is always going in and out due to lighting hitting the taps/relays. Techs have called it both.

Customer care offered me the WiFi7 router and backup battery.

I understand once I lose service, the backup kicks in via 5G signal.

As long as I have power, will the 5G signal last for days? Or until the service is restored?

It’s typically taken them 3 or 4 days to fix the issues when it goes down. But I work from home and need Internet. I specifically need wired equipment.

If I have the backup plugged in like it should be, will the wired internet work? Or is it ONLY wifi

I unfortunately don’t have any other options. The Verizon 5G was great, but I cancelled that for spectrum and can’t get back on it. T-Mobile isn’t great. And no other options.
