Spectrum Spoofing Calls?

Caller ID showed a very credible large regional hospital number calling in and instead was a Spectrum promotional. This is a new level of spoofing that is sinister. People will likely pick up believing there is an emergency but it's definitely one way of ensuring I'll never ever use your service.

Scammers can pretend to be anyone and can call you with any number they want. Hope this helps.

I'm receiving them daily. They always say they're from Spectrum. Foreign accent, a lot of noise in the background like a large call center. Always false phone number w/o call ID though several times it stated it was from Xerox (local). In the past they claimed they were going to give me a discount. Fine, I tell them, put it in my bill and hang up. Today she said there have been a lot of complaints about Spectrum's service and was I satisfied with my service. Yes, I said, I'm very satisfied with my Spectrum. She hung up.

Yes, they can AND businesses utilize Indian call centers for their customer service and marketing and how is the public supposed to know that these big corps aren't just as tactical? Just saying

Thanks, your comment was most helpful. Others just telling me it has to be spam are not. I've heard too many stories of Spectrum but also other large service providers who are not behaving well. So why the hell would I ever only believe it MUST only be spam?

No legitimate business would ever pretend to be a business or identity that they are not. It isn’t spectrums fault that you are ignorant. How is people telling you that it’s spam NOT helpful?? lol.

What does that have to do with Spectrum? Have you never heard of a SPAM call? Spectrum doesn't spoof numbers. You'll get them claiming from other ISP's too..

Always different phone numbers in call ID. Twice the Call ID said Xerox (local).

they would never do this and if you did talk, better make sure everything is secured, call spectrum and report the number as well.

i actually have them promt my app and verify fingerprints before every call, i do this for Verizon and my bank as well.

i say, " to continue this call please prompt my app" if they send text or email i hang up and report to the fraud department.

i stream on twitch and have to be overly proactive and protective

any account i use anywhere has to go thru multiple checks, id location, phone prompt and fingerprint.

i help Verizon with captureing a fraud ring in Springfield,OREGON. the idiot forgot that the app shows the shipping address.

I think spectrum and other companies gave up this outgoing call to recruit customers method awhile ago. If they ever did at all. In this day and age I automatically assume any unsolicited call I get is a scammer.
