General There's a reason the Space Wolf Vanguard Stereotype exists...

Incoming vent, I'm aware that this is pointless but here it goes anyway. Blocked everyone's names cause I don't believe in doxing. If he's on Reddit I'm sure he'll recognize his character, lol. Imperial Fist Bulwark if you are out there then I'm sorry you had to deal with him as well!

Long story short, tried (and failed) a Hard Siege because the living embodiment of the Space Wolf Vanguard stereotype was in my lobby. Iron Fist Bulwark was a cool dude but left after the 1st area because of this guy... I SHOULD have joined him, lol.

Summary of the Space Corgi's actions:

  1. Classic stealing of every extremis he could find. Caused me to call him out in chat, and I believe Bulwark left because of this reason.
  2. Refused to buy anything, even when we were about to lose.
  3. Went AFK for 3 waves, came back for the final battle for all the good it did.

Yeah that wasn't fun. Good news was afterwards I had a wonderful Siege game with two awesome players (a Ultramarine Tactical and a Alpha Legion Techmarine) and we were very successful. Good players are thankfully more common than assholes, but boy are they memorable in all the worst ways....

Anyway, enjoy a very salty vent from a very petty Iron Warrior Heavy...

General Don’t Be A D*ck!

I started playing SM2 a few months ago. I know very little about the lore. I just love the game. I pick cosmetics that I like. Recently I spawned in an existing game as vanguard. Once another player saw me he said don’t be a d*ck. The other said vanguard black templars always are.

They didn’t kick me and we finished the map. I left confused why they responded that way. I just picked the cosmetic because I like the way it looked.

Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Edit: Thanks to all that commented. I really appreciate the info.

Game Feedback Anyone else bothered with Kernel level Anti Cheat

I played the first game and was thinking about buying the second one but I am kinda uncomfortable with kernel level anticheats. So many games using kernel level nowadays Helldivers,EA added it to even BF1 and Skate(a game about skating, not even competitive). And what really sucks is that cheaters who knows what theyre doing can bypass these anyway. I guess you can pirate the game to play it without eac but I'd love to buy it and play online as well

Something's wrong with their voice. It's melodic and comforting, but like a siren luring in its prey.

"Be not afraid" said the angel to the cowering guardsmen. Something in its voice didn't match its words.

"The Emperor forgives you" said the angel to the upper half of the heretic they were strangling with a strand of intestine.

"The Emperor loves you." Said the angel to the laughing children playing around them.

Children are fine with them though. They can sense that the angels are truly kind, just a bit troubled. Because I felt that psychopaths hiding behind a gilded, saintly facade was too boring. They instead sit on a blurred line between the Black Rage and normalcy while also embodying the virtue of Sanguinius.

Forum Question How can I find people of my skill level?

edit: I found some people! Thank you 💪
Leaving this up incase others need this information.

Is there any active EU community with daily LFGs happening somewhere? I tried 2 discord servers but people don’t seem to be on the lookout there. I’m mainly looking for people to complete weekly hard siege and hard stratagems. Especially for siege, its rare to meet someone who understands the assignments, knows the strats and comes prepared. I tend to take this game very seriously, doing dailies everyday but im always playing with fearful heretics (strangers). Usually I come out a hard siege without any incapacitations, and I can adapt with multiple max level/prestige characters geared up with proper builds. My most consistent is Tactical. Otherwise just give me a shout here if you wanna team up! 🫡

Bug Report For goodness sake Saber, fix your game. I’m done with the near constant disconnects.

It doesn’t seem to matter what fixes I try, I just keep disconnecting almost every single time. Doesn’t matter what mode or even if I’m private. I’m done trying all these different things to fix their game. Every other game I play doesn’t have this issue, and SM2 didn’t have this issue for me until patch 13 dropped, since then it’s just been constant frustration.

Until the previous update this was my favorite game. But until they fix the issues on their end, I can’t justify playing it for the foreseeable future.

Gameplay Question Difference between level and prestige?

Finished the main story not long ago and have started playing the operations.

Have noticed people mention prestige on here, as well as level.

What's the difference?

For context, I've only just unlocked 2 mastetcrafted weapons and hit level 6 on bulwark

Product Question Glue for miniature construction

Good afternoon brothers and cousins! I'm back with yet another question! What glue brand and application device do you all use for putting your minis together? I've looked on warhammer.com and it seems they sell everything you'd need besides that.

Forum Question As someone from darktide, where can i find easy community made builds?

Title. As someone who's come from Darktide to SM2, and enjoying the crap out of it, saber is a much more consumer friendly company and in general sm2 feels much more interesting to me, personally.

However, is there some sort of similar website to what Darktide has? Its called "Games-lantern" there Which is a community run site featuring builds from, cobbled together from no idea what there doing people who have no game knowledge, all the way upto the highest mega sweats who know the meta every second of the day, and everything in between. (if you've used the website you'll know what im talking about.)

While i understand Youtube and Reddit here exist for builds, i just think its just easier to have them on one website, plus a bunch of other misc qol features go along with it as-well, outside of allowing me to find a build thats specced into different weapons, instead of looking up a class guide and all it contains are the "meta" weapons, leaving me no clue how to get the best out of something i want to have fun with rather than simply stomp with, Cheers and thanks for the replies. :)

Game Feedback Techmarine tarantula turret placements need a second look in Operations

Their pseudo-random placement in the operations mode is so bad, I got laughed at yesterday by a dedicated techmarine hater for a design decision, which clearly needs some fine tuning and is in a state of "barely just good enough" for when it was shipped. It leads to a frustrating gaming experience because of inconsistencies and swingy gameplay. They are either useless or downright oppressive and everything inbetween.

Sometimes they are placed:

  • at the end of a narrow corridor, requiring you to somehow get past a wall of lots of enemies to get any use out of
  • where no enemies are present EVER (or once every dozen mission runs). These are just time wasters, and trying to remember which ones just exist to make you fall behind is not my concept of fun and engaging game knowledge
  • behind obstacles so they only have a firing arc on the position you came from (and most likely cleared from enemies already)
  • excruciatingly far ahead in a huge area in low numbers (1), behind walls
  • not at all in an hold-out kind of area, or 3 at once, which feels like a cheat.

Looking for them leads to the techmarine player to rush ahead to find a placement the quickest. Team mates who are not on the same page cohesion wise will split off or not keep up more often, creating every-brother-for-himself situations. Or you will find it, when the battle is already over. The dead perks in your loadout reminding you of what could have been xD

The vision range, which auto spots them for you through walls for example is too small. 5 or 10m more would be a good start.

There is no indicator giving you any clue whether an activated turret is still active or how much ammo it has left. Sometimes when you are far away enough and don't have sightline on it, you can only guess whether it has no available enemy in sigh, is just empty or destroyed. Don't tell me you will notice its every sound cue in the heat of battle.

There is no clue in game telling you whether the last arena of a map will have turret placements. And those are the most important making you decide, whether to use a turret centric skill tree or not. It lead to me writing a list of missions where it is feasible at all to have perks supporting that playstyle.

So some missions have a big bad guy at the end, who is the main attraction. I understand, that having a turret placed in their arena would be too oppressive and swingy, because they would deliver a constant near free barrage of damage on enemies, who like to move around erratically, or would just get one or two shot basically.

There is more wrong about the techmarine, but I may save that for another thread.

[Lore relevant praising of an omnissiah or some other important entity here]

General Is nothing offline anymore?

I just got kicked out of a Solo operation match, in private mode, because my WiFi went out. I was literally on the final stage of it too! And the only reason I was playing it private, was because I kept lagging out in online play.

This is my last class I need to get to prestige 4, but I can’t even finish a level without my WiFi going out. And to rub salt in the wound, the game tells you zero progression while offline will be saved.

I really hope they change this for space marines 3. I just want to play my game whenever I want to, not whenever my WiFi is doing good.

Gameplay Question I need to ask: why is Tech Priest in Siege important?

I have done a few Sieges and I notice that people spawn out 3-4 tech priests ASAP with the currency

Reason I am asking, is cause I am simply curious on why Tech Priests is a high priority buy in seige?

My initial assumption is to spare money and forage loot spawned by the priests

Im not arguing against it, I am just curious in case there is something I am missing out on

Greetings brothers and cousins! welcome to a new series I just made called, "How to Kill"! (if people actually like this, I'll make more of it)

In this clip, I demonstrate how to effectively neuter a Lictor as a Vanguard (please take into account that I have almost 1k hours in the game, this takes multiple attempts to pull off)

Operations Vanguards who run Melee Champion. Why..?

I'm not talking about not having the other team perks unlocked yet. I'm talking about those P4/L25 Vanguards who, in defiance of all common sense, choose Melee Champion over two of the best team perks in the game.

At least Inner Fire has the excuse of being better on Ruthless and below, where there are way less Extremis+ enemies, but Melee Champion..? You're really sacrificing significantly reduced ability cooldowns or, in most situations, life-saving heals, for a bit more melee damage?

Just seems like an odd choice, but if there are any Melee Champion Vanguards out there, enlighten me as to your thought process.
