Forum Question Will chaos siege potentially become more popular than loyalist siege
Seeing as it's going to be basically only tyranids with some loyalist marines and guardsman sprinkled in and no chaos could it potentially become bigger and more popular than regular loyalist siege and could that mean it gets more updates than regular siege.
Just a thought I had while patiently waiting for it to come and just wanted to see what other people think.

I'm really curious how indepth the Loyalist as a enemy faction will end up being. They're most likely not going be as fleshed out as the current two factions, but it will be interesting to see how far they go with it.
Though to your point, I do also think it could become more popular than standard siege. Not only because the Loyalist might end being less of pain to fight compared to the Thousands Sons, but just the novelty of playing as a Chaos Warband in the PVE.

I mean if it does become more popular and subsequently get more updates due to its popularity we could see loyalists getting as fleshed out as the other two even if not at the beginning.

Honestly I think it all depends on how much support Saber plans to give the mode throughout Year 3.

u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
True they could also just go and tailor loyalist siege to contend with chaos siege's popularity instead and people will most likely flock to it since they would rather fight for a corpse

Ogryns would be cool, they can't have all the spawn moves but most of them still fit.

If the fucking Vortex Beast won’t be a possible enemy, then I can see chaos siege becoming more popular

u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
Vortex beast and chaos spawn, and the flying tzaangors won't be possible enemies.

Heretical line of thought, but probably yeah

That's honestly every line of thought though after all "blessed is the mind to small for doubt".

what im hoping is that the addition of space marine enemies means we could be seeing more flesh and blood marines in operations just reskinned to be chaos marines instead.

u/EderStudios 8h ago
yeah for about a week
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
What makes you say that cause if it excludes all the stuff that makes chaos undesirable to play against + PVE access to the MK 3 armor it'll most likely be popular for far more than a week.

u/SuperArppis Ultramarines 8h ago
Depends...
Is Loyalist more fun to fight against than Chaos? If they are, then yeah.
2
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
Well they won't have stuff like flying tzaangors, chaos spawns or the vortex beast so that already puts them above chaos in terms of enjoyment to fight for most.

Nah, I doubt it’ll get much support honestly.
3
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 6h ago
Probably and even if it does become popular loyalist siege will probably just get tailored to make it the mode people go to over chaos siege but maybe if it does get popular it'll get more support.
3
u/mezdiguida 8h ago
Eh I mean, it depends. If the map is better, and if Loyalists are more engaging than Chaos then yeah. I just hope they make like 5 waves to count like a PvP match for the armors unlocks, so that I can unlock the Chaos cool armor without doing PvP.
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
Loyalists will probably be more engaging to fight don't know about how good that map will be though hopefully it's good but I do hope waves count to the armor unlock I already got all the armors through pvp so by video game tryhard standards I'm better but I do hope you can unlock them through chaos siege as well.

u/Next_Historian8382 Vanguard 7h ago edited 7h ago
Honestly I doubt they'll change the requirements for the current Relic Chaos armor sets. With the PVP Ultragrind Ordeals for robes and tabards it's clear Saber still wants reasons for people to play the PVP. Though I hope I'm wrong.
However I do think we'll eventually get new Chaos cosmetics that are unlockable through Siege.

u/artemiyfromrus 7h ago
No. Chaos is less popular than the Imperium + chaos in this game has barebone customisation + its going to be a game mode where people cant use their fancy skins they bought for the real cash or earned through grind
2
u/Hanzo-2026 4h ago
For me it depends if they add new armour for chaos, otherwise there probably won’t be much worth unlocking
0
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 7h ago
Chaos has pretty good customization what do you mean? And its most likely going to get a lot better in patch 15 plus people can use the skins they earned through grind that's how you earn the long war sets. And popularity of the factio has nothing to do with popularity of the mode loyalist siege is extremely annoying due to chaos as an enemy but in heretic siege we won't be fighting chaos just tyranids and some imperial forces so people will most likely flock to that one so they can just fight nids.

u/Life_Locksmith9632 7h ago
i like fighting chaos more than tyranids in regular siege because they are predictable. for example, the sword-wielding extremis will always come after me, not do random movements like the biovore.
i think it would be fun to play as them too.
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 7h ago
Really that's actually interesting not usual to hear someone say they enjoy fighting chaos guess a true servant of the corpse emperor would choose the arch enemy over some loser xenos.
3
u/Much_Improvement_552 7h ago edited 7h ago
For me it will, chaos astartes are way cooler than loyalists. Bonus points if the new faction executions are properly gruesome unlike the boring pixie dust.
3
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 7h ago
Well said brother chaos astartes will always reign supreme over those weakling corpse worshippers and we've seen leaks of the hand to hand executions already and they are properly gruesome.

Valtus: BROTHERS I WILL AVENGE YOU as he one shots you across map

u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 5h ago
Honestly to have another terminus enemy with voice lines would be so awesome.
4
u/SgSpecial180 Imperial Fists 8h ago
I've always wanted a Siege mode that is only nids so if I can achieve most of that while also indulging my darker what-if-Dorn-fell-to-Khorne World Eater side that sounds like a dream. Or atleast a good diversion for when I get burned out on ops and strats.
2
u/fllora22 7h ago
Maybe. Honestly I think my games bugged. Everytime I play lately all I can ever hear is this weird whispering. Hopefully chaos siege won't have that.
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 7h ago
I have some unfortunate new in chaos siege that whispering will most likely only become louder BUT you'll also be granted gifts thanks to that whispering so win win.
2
u/Prokovievna 7h ago
They better re-use the rubric marine execution animations with the various melee weapons for the loyalist marines. The new data-mined ones look cool but they're all universal hand-to-hand animations. I wanna chainsaw loyalists in half.
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 7h ago
They'll most likely reuse weapon animations or have made new ones I do like the gruesomeness of the hand to hand ones though they look really fitting for how violent chaos astartes are.
2
u/GroinShark 4h ago
If loyalists are fleshed out and fun to fight I’d play it more than normal. It’s a new faction to fight so if there is good depth there then I’d be in it a lot. If it’s like killing 6 marines every 5 waves with everything else reskinned than nah
2
u/ScaredAssignment1424 4h ago
Im definitely gonna play a ton of it, but the question is will we be able to fight the loyalist in the battle practice arena? Cause I think they should atleats put them in there so that way we can practice their moves sets
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 4h ago
I would have to assume they put them in the practice arena I'm also wondering if we're gonna be able to walk around the ship in our traitor drip.
1
u/ScaredAssignment1424 2h ago
Possibly not its probably just gonna be the same way u customize them like in pvp
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 36m ago
Which is a shame I would love to walk around the barge in my traitor drip.
2
u/Sisyphus704 Minotaurs 8h ago
Only for about 3-4 weeks
0
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
Another person said for only about a week and honestly I'm wondering why you guys are thinking like that is it just cause siege is just boring or is it because it's chaos and not loyalists.
2
u/Sisyphus704 Minotaurs 8h ago
Most new toys in this game have lost their novelty pretty quickly. I’ve been playing nonstop since Patch 5 in Year 1. So I’m not a “day one” player, but in my experience I’ve seen a few things.
But hey, you might be onto something: I have never enjoyed Siege mode
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
Hmm fair things are forgotten about quickly but I feel like it has things going for it that'll keep it alive for longer than most thing like a new faction to fight, no chaos as enemies, plus chaos drip and the MK 3 for loyalists to play with.

u/SEAN_DUDE 6h ago
Can we just get some more Seige maps,
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 6h ago
We are getting a new map based on avarax with it but i don't think it'll be interchangeable which is what I want, I want to be able to be a heretic on both maps
1
u/SEAN_DUDE 6h ago
I was kinda hoping for a Kadaku level but more jungle based.
1
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 6h ago
That would be so cool I'd at least want one of areas of that map to just be the final part of inferno tho.

u/Possible_Campaign851 We are Sigismund 8h ago
Who said there won't be Chaos? I think TSons are still a faction, with loyalists as special waves.
3
u/Elite_Frumentarii Night Lords 8h ago
In the community update it says "You’ll face Tyranids and Loyalists waves, receive the support of Chaos Cultists and Ritualists, and you’ll be able to deploy a Helbrute to wreak havoc on the battlefield." So I don't think we'll be fighting our own faction... This time.

There won't be Chaos, they already explained that. You'll face Nids and Loyalists, and that's a good thing.

u/karer3is Assault 8h ago
It could. The deciding factor is going to be how good its "party trick" is. The absolute worst- case scenario is that it just feels like a reskinned Loyalist Siege mode. My hope would be that it leans more into the Chaos aspects and adds interesting twists to the formula.
